Getting excited about a DAZ Sale is like picking out your favorite in this regatta. I found the DAZ entry: It's the one with the little DAZzites frantically hanging on for dear life. See also the overview image of a year of DAZ sails.
Yep, no madness that I can see. It's amazing how jaded we get at discounts under 60%. Oh well, at least we'll probably get some new items during MM
Yep, I think we had March Madness back in December. Oh well, Its just as well. I still have to catch up rendering some of the stuff I got back then.
That is pretty much how MM was last year as well. it wasn't nothing special of a sale or MM was about the same as any other weekly sales promo. just the standard , buy this new guy over here to get that item at the typical. 40% off and if your real good we'll give you 50% off if you buy 2 new guys at $20 bucks each. ...*Rolls eyes* . . The PC sale in Decmeber was awesome, thats how March madness should be. ...But I predict this year will be like every year in March, the madness comes when you find out all the hype doesn't match the sales offers ....Much
And, and, isn't that background image recycled? I can't be sure but I'm going with it anyway. Cos last year we had cakes and things that rolled down the sides. I distinctly remember the tumbling. OMG what a disappointment. (etc)
I always thought the hype was about what came out rather than the extremely low prices. Like... they save stuff up and release 'special' stuff. Like say a Daz Dog. You can't take the my dreams from me!!!!

Like it sounds like last year started with The Girl launch? And was later followed by The Guy? That must have been thrilling!

After having been away from the Daz store for many years and being a Poser-only user, I came back to the Daz store last year during March Madness just to check it out, hoping for great deals on old V4 or Poser-friendly products that I might not already have and popped in when they offered V7 and G3 head/body morphs free with a Stonemason product. I tried the newest version of DS to see if I could finally wrap my brain around it, managed to do a simple test render with G3 and invested in the Stonemason deal then fell in love with V7 and went all in (and in a tirade about why there is no manual for DS, I was finally willing to learn it, but couldn't!) A year later, I caught up on all generations of Genesis and still really only know the basics of DS, but able to at least create decent portraits and pinups because that part is pretty similar to Poser (and without computers capable of NVIDIA cards, can't really do scenes) but I still have sooo much to learn!
Anyway, my prediction is they will have a lot of intro offers like that for newbies. Get people sucked in with great intro offers and sell a lot of products to people who don't even know how to use the software yet. My dream would be that they finally sell a manual that includes ALL capabilities of DS, I think it would be their best seller ever!
If you are in the PC+ the discounts on the new releases aren't too shabby. Like another poster mentioned, I have a swarm of apartments and don't need another, but I liked the suits and one of the characters. With three of the items in the cart, the suits, which list for just under $20 came in at just under $7. That's not 40%. Or even 50%.
Maybe not "madly" discounted, but a nice price break for some items that look like they may well see some use.

Not in the newsletter, not in the banner, but in the store, and at a similar discount as the "newly mad" items. And despite the suggestive 51% discount it is NOT an encrypted DAZ Connect item.
Its not discounted as one of the MM sale items - just as a new release (30% new release + 30% DO = 51%) The other DO items are 58% (40% new + 30% DO)
Ah, that explains it.
Well once a new generation appears, the releases for earlier ones slow and pretty much stop soon after; but the discounts on them start to get really, really good; so i really really like that silver lining.
Mika does seem to be due. I'm curious about the character, and may even be tempted.
I would hate to have to be the one to keep said manual updated. Richard would be good at it though. :)
I have plenty to render; I've even been buying Victoria 4 era - and finding some of the textures as good or better than what is available now. So I'm not in any hurry to buy anything; but there is always something to surprise one; FaceGen was one such example.
To be fair, it's the first day, I'm going to hold my grumbling until next week.
Hope there's another insane legacy DO sale coming, now that I have "Fit them all".

Yeah, I splurged on FaceGen which I'm loving for new original looking characters and I have about 20 characters I created waiting to be rendered on my CPU only computer... I am so addicted to it now (and already have sooo many products) that I'm not that excited about this sale, especially since I really have to hold off financially for a while. Grutilda looks really cool and is in my wishlist. These sales are great when you have expendable income, but almost frustrating when you don't.... But I already have so many products, I could render something new every day for 20 years or more probably!
Well I couldn't keep going for 20 years, but busy for a while for sure. Well I have been, not buying as much; sadly my rendering skills are only progressing at a slow pace, even slower than my purchasing.

Definitely seems to be a hint of madness at Daz. FastGrab didn't get suspended, they installed something new during the unexpected maintenance last week.... and soon they're going to do some kind of 70% Off Bundles deal....
Well the mystery may be solved. I think the Castle Interior set may be this week's freebie. It simply got released early.
I tucked it into my cart to wait for tomorrow, and went and looked in the cart again just now, and it was suddenly free. Since ther artist(s) have a number of weekly freebies to their credit already, it seems a likely guess.
It's a Sale Participation Freebie according to March Madness page. Madness! There's probably more secrets written in invisible letters.
I wonder if anyone triggered the banner by purchasing the Castle Interior. That would be a slap!
Yes, I know...a sad thing. But, in another thread, Zev0 says it will still be finished soon.
Well I purchased it once it showed up in my cart as *free*. And I find I have a banner *now*. Calls me a Bonus Buyer and claims I get another 10% off. 30% on things with a SKU lower than 16000, and RDNA stuff.
However, the Newly Mad page that todays newsletter links to references a Bonus Buyer freebie which isn't shown at all. So I think it may be a chicken-and-egg situation. Evidently I did whatever put me in the bonus category *before* the banner showed up or the set went free. But apart from buying thee items from the bundle released at the launch of the event (and being in the PC+), I don't know what I did.
But I'm not complaining.

Today's Bonus Buyer freebie isn't visible to me either. I suspect it's the same one as yesterday, and we're not seeing it because we already have it...
Well it's a vast improvement over 2010 (2011?) where you had to buy an item from each day's release in order to get a deep discount from the *next* day's releases, sight unseen. And just to add insult to injury, that was the year where every day's release seemed to be a minidress with a hole in it somewhere.
Were they only releasing one thing a day back then?
I presume you're not talking about arm or neck holes?:)
