Yeah, that puts her more closely in line with the average height of a woman in much of the "western countries" of the world. The average Daz female is way taller than the average real life woman.
was reading a couple of Red Sonja comics over at comixology and got inspired, LOL. After tweaking the character and the outfit, I was left with what to use as an environment. Looking thru my runtimes I found a cavern entrance I never used, but something was missing, then I remembered the photoreal mud rocks scenery I recently got at Rendo and the two combined pretty well.
Thats nice
Here's a render that I did of G3F. The character is a custom shape made using G3F face and body morphs and the "People of Earth: Faces of Asia" morph pack.

She is a short (about 5' 0") petite Japanese character based on the Guitarist/Singer of the Japanese indie band Go!Go!7188.
Victoria 8 (with minor morph mods and my shader settings) relaxing in the great new set by Jack Tomalin - Deco Downtime.
Lovely work! I'm a big fan of female comic book characters and characters like Red Sonja! What armor is that?
..ugh cannot deal with the embedded images while on m the mobile app as they are stretched way out of proportion. Please use attachments.
Thank you.
I can't view attachments while I'm on mobile, so I post them this way. Sorry.
How about this for a solution.
(there is a smaller thumbnail image at the bottom of the post that links directly to the image)

Another camera angle diferent facial expression
now that is pretty.
Very nicely done! Love that lighting.
Also, thanks to everyone that liked my render! I'm going to attempt a fantasy render next I think but I'm unsure how to make it look. I'm horrible with open skys and
trees, always looks fake when I attempt it.
Isn't sticking characters in front of windows the funnest? Its such a great way to add some visual depth to the image, and it justifies some nice back lighting
...Aaand my first proper V8 render, the other one doesn't count.
the hair, eyebrows, and lashes were made by me in blender. I actually have a good workflow for converting blender's strand hair into mesh hair, and its making me so happy, I just need to do some more experimenting on doing it so I can export out morphs and I'm golden (and make better scalp textures).
...yeah I notice attachments are not an option. The mobile app is pretty weak in several areas. For one, we can't insert paragraph breaks by just adding another line which makes for huge blocks of text that are difficult to read. To create a paragraph break you need to "code" it into your text. which on a phone is a real bother as you have to toggle back and forth between screens to insert the symbols.to bracket the code. This is why I try to keep the posts I make on my phone as short as possible.
Now that I can see it full size and in the proper aspect ratio, lovely image.
That one's just sort of serenely good.
Wow, that looks just like Linda Hamilton from Terminator. Nice job on the render!
Portrait 05
Thanks Diva. The armor is a kit bash of several parts and my own texturing on many of the peices. The boots are from G3F RiverWillow outfit. The gloves are from the G3F Battle Queen outfit. The top is from V4 Deathbringer with special IRAY re-texturing. The bottom if from genesis Primordial Barbarian parented, not fitted and special IRAY re-texuring. You know about the belt and sheath. leg bands from GF3 Fantasy Barbarian. The rest was modeled by myself with IRAY shaders applied. Character is a modified version of Ophelia. Hair is from Smay.
I have been reading the comics to get scene and posing ideas and got sucked up in them, LOL.
First spin with g8 using g3 textures.
Awesome! So much personality!!!
Thank you! :)
Thank you. The lighting was a bit of work but Jack's awesome setting inspired me to put a bit more work into it than I normally would. lol
As for the backgrounds, if you find they tend to look "fake" add a camera and turn on "Depth of Field" to it. That will blur the background and give it more of a natural or more realistic look.
hahah Yeah, I enjoy back lighting and/or rim lighting. Rim lighting is one of my favorites - adds a little bit of "drama", IMO.
Yes - the mobile needs a lot of work, IMO. When I'm on my Ipad it gives me a headache trying to navigate the forum images and post.
Thank you for the compliment, kyoto kid! :)
Thanks my friend!
I love kit bashing too! :D Thank you for the list of outfit parts - I'll look those up! :)
That's lovely! Very nice "first proper V8 render"! :D I've seen some people calling V8 ugly and it's just so weird to see people say that. I think she's quite pretty.
Just sent you a PM...Beautiful render!
Working my way up for my G8 pale skin shader :D
Rendered with 1 HDRI + 1 Plane Light and some very minor post work
Looks great!
This is what happens when I play with fire... The candle is the only light source for this render.

btw; I love the intreactive rendering in Iray. As this was rendering, I was fine tuning the tone mapping and bloom settings.
I found the Jaccuzi room's lighting a little too good. There are so many default light sources that there was no shadows or contrast to speak of. Depends on what you are going for, I guess.
I'm afraid I generally go the other way. I'm trapped in Hollywood's and the fashion industry's ideal of the super tall supper skinny lady, and generlly get it by making Vicky and company taller using the height morph. I find generation 8 to be a little thicker than generation 7. More realistic, I suppose, but what's the point of playing with digital ladies if you can't put them on an absurd diet? Anyway, I wouldn't mind a few G8 characters that push the Hollywood or fantasy elven super skinny mode, not that I would object to people who like to go the other way. There should be lots of morphs available to explore different ideals.
