Haven't posted in here in a while, been to busy to do much rendering but I put this together over the weekend, hope you enjoy :)

FW Frankie with additional custom face morphs, Sunny skin with Annegenesis2 applied, Polishes sniper rifle and Dreamlight's light-up of Stonemasons Urban Future 3 in the background. (whew)

    Nice but a bit noisy....

Yeah I cut it off at like 15% because got impatient and needed to move on to another render, may run it again overnight tonight.

LOL this happens to me on many occasions. Thats the beauty of the new system.. nice all the same..

Eh, it's not that bad. It isn't even noticeable when the image is scaled down.

I think it was Sickleyield who put out a min-tut on how to decrease render times by doubling the dimensions of the render, then sizing it down by half in your favorite photo program, (like Photoshop or Gimp.) I know Will brings it up from time to time.

I've just started rendering in Iray recently.

Pix-Lucy and MDD Jerica used in this render. 1 rim light, 1 key and a default HDRi

    :ucy

..looking good.  Seems you have made a good adjustment.

...that is really nice. It would make a good wrap around book cover.

Yea, makes me think of Edgar Rice Burrough!

Thank you very much to all of you.

Here is a render among the 4 I did yesterday. I intend to create mini stories, maybe 8-10 slides per scenery. But optimization is not everything, I will soon need a couple of GTX 1080Ti to be confortable...

    Clic for 4k.

Here is the sniper rendered to 68%, I let it run overnight. Think it got rid of most of the grain, plus I feel like re-framing the scene improved it as well (I have a bad habit of over-zooming on the subject). Hope you all enjoy :)

Wow, I like this one. It looks convincingly dark, not just insuffieciently lit.

Yeah, I almost always do double size/shrink because it gives you more 'room' to smooth out pixels -- working with the image is more forgiving.

And I find it's useful in 3DL, too, which often is too sharp for a lot of stuff.

Mind you, if you are doing art postwork, this is rarely necessary (like brushwork stuff).

Pixel filter adjusts the sharpness of an image in both Iray and 3DL.

I actually prefer working with large images. It's much easier to fix something when you have a lot of pixels to work with than when there are only a few. However, I come from a photography background, and that undoubtedly influences my preferences.

    Yeah, that's my philosophy.

In 3dl I hit situations where I was getting moire effects because fabric patterns were interacting with the resolution; these artifacts are much easier to eliminate at double size

Not sure if this fits under nudity rules, so here's the link: http://willbear.deviantart.com/art/Annointing-685165679

She's nude but her arms are blocking anything in the PG-13 range.

It's been a long time since I wanted to render an underwater scene, with all the bells and whistles and teaming with life and adventurous thrill. I am quite fond of the sea and, since my first dive, of the underwater realm even more. So, for now, I was inspired to put together this little environment. I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed doing it!
I named it Treasure Hunting Down Below. It shows in my gallery as well.

Hi all. I have taken the help that L'Adair suggested and applied it to my rendering process. It is amazing now how well my renders are turning out. It worked so well. Now I have control over my "bake" time and quality of the results. Though I have done only character over background images so far, I am so happy with the way it is going. Thanks so much for the help you guys are giving me with Iray. I have played with it and enviro lighting for a bit now and, like I said before, I am posting some of my renders. I could have never done these without your help. Thanks again.

Thank you, glad you guys like it.

Great renders shown here lately. Nice work everyone! The key is always hard work and wilingness to experiment.

I'm so happy to hear I was able to help you. Those renders are beautiful. Very well done. (What did you use for the ocean background... an HDRI or a set?)

My next suggestion is for Ghost Lights. With a ghost light, you could put a bit of light on the right side of the face in those first three renders, just enough to soften the shadows not get rid of them. Not unlike a photographer using a reflector. Google site:www.daz3d.com/forums/ ghost lights and you should be able to find the post Kindred Arts did showing us how to make them. Or if you prefer, his original Ghost Light Kit is an excellent investment. I use it in almost every scene I render.

Great render 3CPO, I love it.

I've done an underwater render too, certainly not as beautiful nor worked as yours, but I post it anyway. I also enjoyed doing it ! I will try to improve my skills in lighting, it seems to be worth it.

    Behold the ... mantaur!

(Behind mature link because there's some sidebutt, though nothing more scandalous. Except the general WTH of the concept)

And I stupidly forgot to actually put it behind a link. Duh: http://willbear.deviantart.com/art/Mantaur-685283352

...very  impressive.  The "schooling" of the fish. looks very natural and the "volume" of the water is just right.

...had to do a double take on this one.  You are the king of geografting.

  • Oso3DOso3D Posts: 15,107

I'm the king of collision, maybe. ;) There's no geografting, I just put two bodies together in a very unromantic way and did sleight of hand with it.

Also a little Photoshop heal brush (which is amazing) and smoothing to improve the transition line (which looked OKAY but a little too obvious)
