Is it Ok To scrap part of your film and redo it?

at first i was happy with it but now i see other ways to accomplish what i was wanting to do. like zooming and paning. Before i was doing it one way but now i'm going to do it using effects cause in my case it makes more sense.  But it's not very nice that i might just make it look bad.

It's your video you can do what you want :)

People redo parts of a project over and over all the time. It's part of getting what you want instead of settling for "it works"

Just make a copy and make your changes of your copy. That way, if you completely ruin it, you still have the original to go back to.
