Hello;

I have some questions concerning the reality plugin. I just installed it so its new to me. How does it work with the set up of lights?...what lights do you use for your renders in general?...normal daz studio lights or lights of lux render/reality?...
is there a general light that can be used for rendering with reality with which i can achieve reasonably good results?...
are there any light presets for reality?...
you see...i dont have much understanding of lights in general...thats why i always use preset lights in daz studio.

thanks for your help.

    Reality generally uses a Distant Light in DAZ Studio, which is renamed 'Sun', and for a lot of things, that is the only light you need. Rreality can also use Mesh Lights in the same sort of way that UberArea does. In other words, it uses a mesh object as a light, and the results are very good.

    You should really read the RUG (Reality User Guide) because there is a lot to learn about optimising materials for Luxrender as well. There are lots of materials for DS items available, know as ACSEL shaders which are free to purchasers of Reality.

    Luxrender is an unbiased render engine, and does not work like 3Delight at all. It never stops rendering, and can take a long time depending on the scene. Pret-a-3D has a site of his own which you should also visit, and there is a thread here on Reality, I will see if I can find you links.
