    NAE

This was an ad that I saw. I thought it looked amazing. I wanted to try to recreate it. I don't if it is possible for two people to do this, but the photograph looked real. But I know they can do amazing things with Photoshop. I used Michael 6 and Aiden. I know I used the North hair, but I'll have to look up what other products that I used. Not sure why the North hair came out looking sort of white when it was clearly brown before render. I adjusted the color somewhat in Photoshop, so it was more to my liking.

KevinH,  It looks to me to be trick photography... the dark haired person is touching the floor and the light haired person is leaning on a wall and standing on a box... me thinks. :)

NAE - Parker- Modern Day Pirate

......which I'm going to update since the bake wasn't long enough, I notice some missing updates on textures and get rid of that 1000 yard stare. *Edit-Updated

  • He looks good, @darwinsmishap. A really ripped pirate. When you say not baked long enough, do you mean how long you waited for him to render. That would be my assumption, but I'm not positive.

You are probably right, @wbdjohn. I didn't think of it until you mentioned, but the could have been photographed standing upright and then then the image was rotated. I've seen that done where the person appears to be standing on the ceiling. I almost thought of removing it, because it seemed like a dud. But I did get one comment from someone who's work I admire.

To me, if you look at the pose each man is in, it's the same pose but mirrored through two rotations, 90 degrees on -x and 90 degrees on -z I think maybe. I think they photoshopped the image although there is a small chance they had a high speed professional camera and took a shoot of some acrobatic activities.

  • Great images everyone!  I love seeing all or these male renders!  @DarwinsMishap  Parker is looking might fine in that image!  :)

  • Thanks, everyone!

Yes, that's exactly what I meant Kevin.  It just didn't render long enough the first time.

I like this one. It is lovely posed and the idea is great.

May I make a small suggestion: It would be better if you can do something with the lighting. Especially if the face can get a bit more light it would be great.

    Greetings

The past couple days I've been modeling a SnowMan in Carrara. This is my first attempt at anything resembling a Figure/Creature... so don't laugh.  I've now added arms, a carrot nose and a hat with a few morphs for it's styling... this is just a test render to show what I came up with today... I've a different scene for the final render. Scene below is Howies Snow Scene, comes with Carrara.

Now I will find me a REAL virtual Man. :)

Well honestly it's my favorite so far...

Why thanks. [blush]  I'm currently working on a perfect morph, IMO, or more for the hat.

Ah, I like the snowman.  Unfortunately, the first post with the rules states a male humanoid figure.  Now, if you put some legs on him, maybe?  But, I'm afraid in his current state, he doesn't qualify.  He's really cute, though.  :)

No problem... didn't think so... I understand. Perhaps I can fit a Male Humanoid into some of Vicky's winterwear. :)

  • wgdjohnwgdjohn Posts: 2,634

I have uploaded an update for my SnowMan... whoopee now has arms, carrot nose and morphs for the hat. Perhaps I'll leave it as a non entry and get to work on a different scene. I just love all of HowieFarkes scenes... his Snow Scene looks rather nice.

    See the updated file Above.

    giggles @ Chohole good one!!

  • @Chohole  I should have known that would get some kind response from you.   I can always trust you to be watching and do something funny.  :)  I don't know it's a tough call.  What exactly does constitute humanoid?

  • ChoholeChohole Posts: 33,604

Well we insisted on totally Human last year, cos we issued the challenge in response to all the "why no male clothes"  threads that were appearing.  And Boy did the members come through and show us how much they wanted and would use male clothes for human men.  Or re[urpose female clothes to make them right for masculine men, etc etc.

    adjective

    adjective: humanoid

    1. 1.

having an appearance or character resembling that of a human.

"a small, green, and hideously warty humanoid figure"

    noun

    noun: humanoid; plural noun: humanoids

    1. 1.

(especially in science fiction) a being resembling a human in its shape.

      "a three-eyed humanoid"

      And then another dictionary  says

      British Dictionary definitions for humanoid

      humanoid

      /ˈhjuːməˌnɔɪd/

      adjective 1.

like a human being in appearance

      noun 2.

a being with human rather than anthropoid characteristics

      3.

(in science fiction) a robot or creature resembling a human being

None of them mention snowmen     boohoo.

Thanks O Great and Mighty Chohole for knocking me upside the head. :)  Leave it up to me to make so much noise.  I can just model a couple of legs and feet and save as a new character... perhaps even put clothing on the new version and re-model which will be a challenge in itself for myself.

Your humorous posts always make my day. :)
