IPR pane

When I open the aux view pane and select the show IPR tool bar it shows but is inactive. how do I activate it so that I can take advantage of this feature?

    Click the icon that says IPR with an arrow.

    Look at screen grab and tell me what icon and with which arrow? The problem is I can see the tool bar but it is not highlighted and does not function

    Do you have your renderer set to iRay in Render Settings? If yes, that is why. That toolbar is only active when 3DL is the renderer.
