    Different folks have different feelings about different things. One should always be respectful of what others may sensitive to. No one likes to be made fun of or become the butt of a joke. Tolerance is an idea that I'm afraid still hasn't quite caught on throughout the world. I mean, freaks folks are completely free to pierce whatever parts of their faces they want, and wear barbed wire around their boobs, and paint themselves up to look like floozies... I'm not going to be the one to say anything about it.

    I'm weird, and a bit of an idiot at times... and very accident prone. Gimme a break... you might start to wrinkle and sag when you get older too. 

    I'm not really such a butthead (though I do laugh like him).... I was just having a bad day earlier. Sorry 'bout that. blush

    Going back to the original subject, I'm looking for spiked gauntlets.  Not armbands, but actual gloves with spikes on them.

    No, not at all, at least from my perspective... I know a lot of people who have tattoos, some really have a feeling for them, they did it to identify with their unit or military comrades, to memorialize a loved one who passed away, or because they really have a thing for them... That's cool... But ya gotta admit, there are some people who do it out of peer pressure or because it's trendy... And that's never really a great reason for doing anything.  To be honest, the people I know who have tattoos from before it became cool and there were shops in malls everywhere, have more disdain for mall tattoos then I could ever have, even if cared... Mainly because I don't really care what people do to their skin... It's theirs, and as long as it's not sweaty and touching mine, they can start an ant farm under it for all I care... But, yeah I guess I was out of line making fun of that, it was more from the perspective of those I know and the way they roll their eyes at certain tattoos... I'm pretty sure it's that their tattoos have very deep meaning to them, and when people treat it like a pair of designer sneakers or blingy baubles, it kinda robs some of specialness from the people who feel some tattoos are earned, not just purchased and I guess without explanation, and even with it, me making fun of it could be hurtful, so sorry to you and anyone my stupid comments may have hurt... I'm a jerk sometimes... Mostly only 87% of the time, but I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or make them feel picked on, that's not nice... I'm not nice, but still I should think about what I say and how it makes someone else feel before I write it... So anyway, once again I'm very sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings.

    Hey! I'm old! I'm gray and unsteady on my feet...and I'm sure young people think I smell funny. Still not big on tattoos tho ;). But I meant 3D characters that have them...I don't buy them. Real people? My husband has one. Doesn't bother me much...just wouldn't get one on ME ;).

    I couldn't agree more with the people you know, and as someone who is tattoed and pierced up myself, I feel the same way.

    These actually make sense, as the spikes stay on the outside of the arms/hands, where they can really do their work without making the wearer bleed..

    Sadly, the alternative to getting older is very drastic - and inevitable; we merely hope for its continued delay. It was so sad (and shocking) to read a few days ago of a fourteen year old dieing from a heart attack whilst playing football.

    I prefer to think of it as not getting old, but getting older. Older is a fact, old is down to opinion, and I find those who call folks old at a certain age (it varies amongst individuals expressing the opinion as fact) to be offensive.

    I've highlighted the part I object too; as though how they wear makeup says anything about them as a person, other than they thought it looked nice.

    It such a situation, the viewer is at fault, not the person dressing as they wish.

    I hate (yes I know a contentious word, but bear with me) the way PC (political correctness) has taught everyone how to hide our prejudices.

    Aye  I am with you there.  I am old(er) enough to have 2 great grandchildren, fragile enough that in real life it is not a club I wield but a walking stick, but I refuse to grow up. If I had my way the walking stick would be purple and covered in flowers,  but unfortunately the one I was gifted is boring black with a wooden handle.  Swings well though, so I can use it instead of the trusty old club. 

     

    We are locking this thread because it is getting more barbed comments than comments about barbed wire.
