Low texture resolution. Please help.

UV Map: Genesis Female

Texture map for torso/nipples. File type BMP. The original file is 4x times larger.

For some reason when applied through Diffuse Color it ends up like very pixelated like this:

Is there an easy way to increase the texture resolution in DAZ or is it something wrong with the file itself?

  • That looks like your UVs are mis-matched.
Can you check the Surface tab and tell me what UVs are being used there for that image?

The UV is Genesis Female while the character is heavily morphed A4.

Also I think I may have done false alert because I actually tried to render it and the resolution did went up.

  • Alright - so here's the solution.

In the Surface tab, the Torso should have its Diffuse options, bump map, etc. Somewhere there you will find the UV - it will read something. Usually its either Base Female or Victoria 5, etc. Clicking it, the figure will show you available UV settings. You have to use the UV setting that MATCHES the Diffuse map. Otherwise the textures will not be correctly applied.

For example, a Victoria 5 Torso diffuse map should use a Victoria 5 UV setting for it. Make sure you apply the correct UV setting to the map.

Outside of that - I guess you could try decreasing the Horizontal and Vertical Tiling in the surface tab but... that might create weird results.
If that doesn't help - the only thing you can do is create your own UVs in an outside program.
