Have had this JeanZ for V4 and they were great and did a great job :)

  • Thanks to your workaround 3DWizard, I've cancelled my request for a refund. JeanZ is a great product and I'm glad I can use them in 4.8!

By the way, when I mentioned I had JeanZ for G2, I meant your JeanZ Skirt product. If you ever decide to make a G3 version of that, I'm sure I'll pick it up too.

and here they are after running them through the transfer tool as you have shown. Cool, thanks for that. The main reason I need these JeanZ are the Daisy Dukes and The Bell Bottoms for long pants and now I have to look how I can transfer my old selfmade texures from the V4 version to this new version for G3F but I think that will not make much work.

Glad it is working for you!  The JeanZ skirt is probably the most asked for conversion behind the JeanZ followed by the TreadZ.  However, don't want to be seen as someone who only converts their old products.  So my plan now is to alternate releases between brand new product and conversions of old.  The trouble is I have about a dozen unfinished products on my harddrive, one I started with V4!  Maybe some day I will finish them but I keep coming up with new ideas.  Just not enough time!

I have a surprise in store for my next release that I don't think people have seen before, it will be very cool.  I will probably do the JeanZ skirt after that, but not sure yet.

Cool render!  Happy you are able to use them.  Hopefully we will see more renders of the JeanZ.

I did make some changes in the UV's, however I did include the originals as an option in case that works better for you.

    Cheers!

Well, I will do some more and some better for sure, this was a fast made render without any backround or action, just to see how the JeanZ work :)

BTW the body of the model is completely created with Zev0 morphs the only DS morphs are 20% Bethany, 40% Breast Natural and 20% Stomach Depth, the face is a mix and match of DS and 200 Headmorphs.

I also use some DS nipple and areola morphs, too but you can`t see them here smiley The Skin is an edited Version of the V7 Skin. Have had to fix some things. Aaaand I have the Subsurface turned off and use no Iray, just simple 3Delight.

Quite a bit I'm afraid. Lots of smaller ones from various packs but this is the primary ones

    Gianni 7

    Michael 7

    Bodybuilder

    Fitness

Oh, figured it would be simple, J/K.  So Gianni, Michael 7 and Bodybuilder have custom morphs so they shouldn't be a problem.  I just checked them and they are fine.  I don't have the fitness one in my list.  Does the belt reappear when you turn off smoothing?  Sometimes a lot of smoothing will cause things to disapear like that.

I if you want I am willing to try and whip up a custom JeanZ morph for you.  Zero the pose on the male.  Zero Gianni, Michael 7 and Bodybuilder.  Set the Mesh resolution on the JeanZ to base and export it out of DS as an obj at DAZ scale of 100%.  I will message you with where to send it.  Can't guarantee that it will be 100% accurate since I will be doing it without the reference morphs.

    Cheers!

I am just about to pick this up now I see there will be a 4.8 fix sometime - I hope the male fit issues will get fixed in the same updated, as I'm only interested in it for the Guys ;-)

It turns out it was the LowRise morph that was causing the problem.  This is a tricky morph to begin with and then throw all those other morphs in it really gets rough.  I have already fixed the LowRise morph and tweaked those other character morphs.  I also added 4 new BeltExpand morphs to help with any other issues.  Just waiting to hear back from Serene Night on how they work.  They will be included in an update, but if someone needs them now they can message me and I will send them to them.

    Cheers!

  • Just a FYI.  I have upload a version that works in 4.8 and has fixes for the LowRise morph in the male version of the JeanZ.  It has to go through QA etc. so it is in the que but I can not tell you how long it will take before it is available.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Greetings,

I'm really glad you made these, and I've already picked them up and done a few renders with them, but I am curious...do you know of any other texture sets for the Jeanz?  Specifically, I'm less a fan of the 'fringe' style of cutoffs, and want the more 'hemmed' or even 'hemmed and rolled back' style, that gives a sharper edge to the bottoms.  I searched Renderosity (whoops!  Someone else is using the 'Jeanz' name there for other stuff), and ShareCG already.  Also here, of course, but there's only the three-ish (2.5?) texture sets.

If not, I can certainly give a try to texturing it myself.  I imagine the reason it hasn't been done as much is that it'll require an entirely new opacity map, which texturing folks seem loathe to do...  If you don't know of any other texture sets for the Jeanz that might be in that style, I guess I'll find out why they are loathe to make new opacity maps. :)

Again, though, thanks muchly; I do like them a lot!

    --  Morgan

p.s.  I did have the odd experience of having them render subtly differently (larger gap between backside and cutoffs) on Mac and Windows; it's possible that the Windows version was a recent beta of 4.9.next, while the Mac was the current release of 4.9 though.

  • I don't know of any other textures sets and it does piss me off that someone else is using the JeanZ name, wonder if I can trademark it?   Anyway I assume you are talking about the DaisyDuke style of short?  You really don't have to do opacity map as you can hide the lower material zones.  You could do this with the default texture but then you wouldn't have textured seam with stitching etc.  One could copy the seams from the other part of the shorts map to make one.

Not sure what you mean about the gap, however a girl shouldn't wear the DaisyDukes without underwear on ;)

I think you might have trouble with that. RPublishing and Rhiannon have been selling "Jeanz" products for a long time.

". . . . .  it does piss me off that someone else is using the JeanZ name, wonder if I can trademark it?   . . . . "

Well, he does have some prior claim, given that the first set of JeanZ are from *2002* and the earliest on 'rosity is 2011.

But anything I say here on that will devolve into a discussion of trademark law among amateurs, which would take away from the very nice JeanZ just released. :)

So...I'll poke at the textures; I kinda see how the hems were added at the various levels, but I'll have to figure it out a little more as I've not really done much more than minor editing on texture maps before.  At the core, though, yes.  I wanted to add a hem to the 'DaisyDukes' level, instead of the fringe.

Here's another shot of the male jean set, with the new to be released morphs added. The new set includes belt adjustment morphs and  morphs to fix the waistband scalloping.

I must admit I'm a bit confused when one person is saying it's a particular product issue and another saying bad luck you need to expect more of the same unless you move to DS4.9.

I guess because DAZ is now "incapable" of supporting anything but the letaest version, "more of the same" will will become the order of the day.

Has anyone noticed that Smart Content is not quite working for Jeanz for Genesis 3, or is that just me?

Select any of the Jeanz wearables and filter by context and the view is not limited to Jeanz compatible items. I have a ticket open for this.

It will depend on whether the PA's develop their products on both 4.8 and 4.9. In this particular case, it was a product issue with the previous Studio version and the PA has corrected the issue.

Your compliant is similar to the people grumbling the some PA's no longer offer 3DL materials or Poser compatibility. The PAs make the decision what they will support, you make the decision what software you will use. All choices have consequences.

What's this? Reason and a measured response? Have you lost your mind, man? This is an internet forum, there's no room for that sort of thing here!

Sorry, I'll try to hold it to a minimum wink

  • Actually DavidGB was kind and tracked down the error and it had to do with some lines with some empty bones not having weight maps.  So I would expect not all productes would or should be affected.  I might have just been the unlucky one.  I am going to forward to Daz so hopefully they will be able to do something with it.

BTW the civility in this thread is starting to make me sick j/k :D

Ha, the Daisy Dukes are so popular :D

I wonder why? laugh I was going to do something with the struggle pose, but had to try out the Daisy Dukes first. With this body morph and pose they didn't fit very well at first, but it could all be corrected with the provided morphs.

    Thanks for a fun product!

A little cheeky perhaps?? LOL  You are welcome!

Yep so many character morphs and combinations it is hard to cover them all.  That is why I put in so many adjustment and fit morphs.

  • Hi the3dwizard,

Could you please tell me if your Studio 4.8 fix been implemented yet?

I am running studio 4.8 on an iMac and saw the previous posts about a fix so purchased the jeanZ today.  Loading them crashes studio for me, so if the fix you mention hasn't been released yet, then I shall wait as I like this product very much. Sadly, if the updated 'fix' file is now included in the current download then I may have to return the product.

    Kind regards.

I bought and downloaded JeanZ for G3 before the fix, and I haven't seen the update in DIM, so I'm assuming the update hasn't been added to the product yet. Hope that helps with your peace of mind.

  • Many thanks L'Adair, I guess it will take a few days, and hopefully it will be mentioned in this thread when the update is available.

    Kind regards,
