I am a little confused by this Vick. Isn't the entire point of G9 to be able to swap genders of any character at any time? Shouldn't anyone who owns Victoria 9 be able to dial out the feminine and dial in the masculine and get this character without having to buy it? I am very confused by this. Or am I just missing something here?
As far as I can tell (I didn't check with all the ones I own), no Genesis 9 Core Figure will dial in either the Base Masculine or the Base Feminine morph with their own morph and if you dial out Victoria 9's morphs, you get a base gender neutral Genesis 9, not a masculine Victoria 9. If you dial the Base Masculine morph, the resulting character will still retain Victoria's breasts and you'll have to find a way to remove them (the Breasts Gone morph is a start but there is still a bit of breasts left, even dialing it in at 100%).
What you can do is using Victoria 9's masculine skin, which is provided since the beginning, on a masculine morph. Here, with Michael 9 with the Masculine Chest texture from Victoria 9 (the nipples are in a difference place when using the Feminine Chest textures).

But not all Genesis 9 characters are provided with an opposite gender skin: all G9 Core Figures are (as far as I know), but only some PAs will include textures for the opposite genders (@ChangelingChick is the one that come to mind, but other do too): you can still use them on any Genesis 9 morph, but if you want to do a topless or fully nude render, nipples will be placed were they usually are on the gender the textures were designed for and there would be no Anatomical Elements textures for the opposite gender.
This new product is a new morph for Genesis 9, modelled to make Vick looks like Victoria's brother / father / son with a couple of textures. I suppose the dependency to Victoria 9 HD is because Vick needs other textures from Victoria 9 HD.

I disagree. Leaving the base shape is perfectly fine if that's how you want your character to look. It's also fine to leave the base shape as a jumping off point to dial in specific body part and facial feature shapes and morphs.MallenLane said:zombietaggerung said:

The Masculine and Feminine dials on G9 are characters, not attributes. There is no way to make gender a true attribute, because people all look different and contours add up in strange ways on top of other contours. (it may work to various degrees to reverse dial out those characters, but no more or less so than any others) The gender archetype characters are there mostly because if you use only 50% of Michael, you need to fill the 50% void left with another masculine character. You should never simply leave it to the base shape, which is no proper character at all, as that creates odd results.
This is different from say G8M where dialing 50% of Michael 8 leaves 50% of the base, which by default is a full masculine character.
The G9 base shape is solely to make universal clothing easier to make, and shareable attribute morphs that are generically compatible with anything. Characters have to supply all the data needed to take the base to an identity. So in short, for best results on G9, true character data should always add up to 100%.

Found the log.
I didn't need the whole log, just the part where you tried the product
. Looking at the log, I don't see anything where it starts making the temporary HMap file. Did you get any dialog message? I see you apply the full setup suit. You select the "RSSY Genesis 8 Female Suit"? Then you selected the Briana HMap file and then executed the Apply action? Briana isn't a Daz file. Have you tried selecting a V7 HMap from a Daz product to see if that works first?
Ok so applying H Mat of Victoria 8 works, but how do I get a CUSTOM created Mat onto the model? Like for starters, who do save a custom model's mats to be a H Mat preset first?Let's appreciate/discuss today's new releases - ongoing threadI am a little confused by this Vick. they went for Vick not Victor?

Likely for search fields. You type Victor, and it includes all things Victoria. You type Vick, you just get Vick.

I presume (due to a 'family' likeness) that they are all A3 based still.
Nah, the first two are V4, she's wear'n my free Dody character preset I converted from A3 to V4.

I really don't know how you do it.
That makes two of us, I look back at my own work and am astounded, "how can that be mine?", even though I clearly remember making it.
I have two time-laps videos on youtube of me doing characters if you want to see the process (v link in my sig v).

A Cold in Paris: Them NyQuil Blues
Nico was excited about modeling as a cowboy at Studio Paris. Vicky seemed animated about modeling as the saloon singer. Unfortunately, she caught a cold and had to quit. She'd packed a medicine that was 100 proof though. That worked out well. They passed the bottle around, sang an old song, and everyone ended up feeling much better-- even the horse.

errata: "NyQuil Blues" was a comedy song performed by Alvin Crow circa 1975
Daz crash when using face transfer on genesis 9 or when creating a new one~~~Yes it works really fine with G8. I'm guessing that Daz automatically use face transfer 1 when you create or use on G8 and use face transfer 2 on G9. After playing around a bit with G9, I found that it really taxing on my system. It reverted back to cpu rendering on Victoria 9 with no hair on. Maybe my pc can't use face transfer 2 on G9 and cause the crash. Guess I'll use G8 for now and learn more on how to get better at using Daz until I upgrade my PC.
Crook and FlailYes, but I still use V3 + 4 because the new figures came out so fast I couldn't keep up. I decided thaI didn't need the epense and hassle.
Understood.
In which case there's a chance you may be interested in ways of using newer stuff on V3 (or V4). There is an awful lot of free stuff for G8F, and generally has quite good quality material. I still regularly use a V3 character (Jim Burton's Glamorous Vickie 3) but wanted to use a wider range of poses, clothing and hair than fitted to the unusual morph. As a result, I came up wih a pose transfer script from G8F to V3 and a way of converting V3 into a Native DS TriAx figure and creating autofit clones for V4, G3F, G3M, G8F and G8M so V3 and the Generation 3 characters can wear the new stuff too. The TriAx conversion works equally well making a TriAx V4 base figure too, and I've done Male & Female pose Transfers to Generation 4 here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/450206/g8f-pose-transfer-to-v4-a4 https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/448936/m4-h4-f4-g8m-bi-directional-pose-transfer https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/448391/v4-a4-pose-transfer-to-g8f/p1 (I have also done bi-directional pose transfer scripts for Genesis 3 & Generation 4, so Genesis 3 poses aren't left out)

Big Volumetric hairstyles of the 80s or otherDunno if posting in this topic area will do any good but ive been looking for hairstyles that are BIG like they use to have in the 80s. Im talking like curly layered hair, feathered, Volumetric pixie cut, and something similar to the hairstyle of Roxanne from "a goofy movie" if possible. Alot of the 80s stuff ive found so far is either real old with poor textures or for victoria models that i dont use and most of the "big" hairstyles on the market currently are simply just long hair copy/paste (least in my opinion). Was hoping to send a message to OutOfTouch or a few other artists to see if theyd oblidge in creating such but i cannot for the life of me figure out how to contact them?(Perhaps thats the point?) Anyway, i welcome suggestions but know ive probably already found it (Dynasty hairstyle seems to be the one most point me to which goes to show the lack of variety....) and if any hair creators stumble across my post then i humbly request your assistance!
Included some images as well as a tiktok (i do apologize but i couldnt find a better representation other than tiktok) and well
As for the roxanne style...i was hoping for a realistic variant whilst maintaining the overall shape and volume as presented in the toon version.

face morph is not loaded V4Moved to technical help as it is a question about a product rather than the Daz Studio application.
Which character? Do you have the Victoria 4 Power Loader installed (do you get a dialogue box when loading the figure)? How did you isntall Victoria 4 and the character?

Just in the nick of time: I had a couple of ideas, none that felt compeling enough to create them or none that I could pull off while spending Christmas with my family.

I did count the number of pieces on the table: 63 is the number including the piece in Victoria's hand and 62 the number still on the table.

YAY.. your gals made it home in time for Christmas traditions to be fullfilled :) Well done... I'm sure they bought the puzzle whilst in Rio ;)

It's so fun to see how varied the gifts were for each person! I'm not 100% certain how it works, but as I understand it, the algorithm generates options from DO items in your wishlist first. If it doesn't find anything (within certain parameters) that are Daz Originals, it then generates random items. The staff doesn't manually choose gifts for each patron of Daz products, I don't think! (If they were, I'd kindly be asking Santa Daz to notice the Victoria 9 Mega Bundle sitting in there!) Lol! But the algorithm does seem pretty good at making it sort of feel like it's personal (to me, anyway). I really enjoyed the whole process and it seems it was a good time to find my way back here because it was a lot of fun to participate. And it's fun to see what others got too! Thanks for sharing, guys! And thanks again to Daz3d.

I have noticed that after adding some older assets to the whishlist they immediately appeared on the advent calender the next day. I did not test this every day, so it could be coincidal but I'm pretty sure it was not totally random.
Edit: I wanted to ask if the advent calendars continue. It shows calender items for the 1st and 2nd but I guess that's just lazy programing.

Definitely the time to chill out and relax and take things slow - I hope the girls made it to the meal in the end tho!

Anyone had luck fitting the new Vo Xiao Hua Armour release to anything at all?The only G9 I can get this to fit to is Victoria 9. Other advertised shapes like Olympia don't work, and of the plethora of G9's I have, I haven't been able to fit this product to a single one (with the one exception being Victoria 9). Mesh grabber also can't seem to grab it, so I can't just do a few micro tugs on the mesh to cover up bits.
Anyone have any luck with this product at all?
