I purchased Michael 4 base recently, and i'd like to ask, are there any free clothing and hairstyles for Genesis 3 Male and Michael 4 to download, other than those listed in the PoserDAZResources Wiki?

Also, are there any free dancing, running and walking animations (preferably AniBlocks) for Victoria 4, Michael 4, and Genesis 3 Male and Female?

One of the nice things about PoserDAZResources Wiki is they list the links to a creator's freebie content. So instead of having a link to just one product the user can click on the creators name. Which takes you to their page and their page will be listed where the creator offers access to their freebies.

Apart from Genesis 8 the base figures came only with clones for the previous geenration of the same sex and the current geenration of the opposite sex - oh, and since Genesis was unisex it had clones for Michael 4, Victoria 4, and Kids 4.

Thanks for the catch. It's a nice set, though. Looks like one would be able to fit it properly in Marvelous Designer, though I'm fairly certain EvilInnocence has a CrossDresser license for the character... transfer it to Michael 4 and then auto fit that way, I suppose.

But I'll try the MD route first, when I have the chance.

To help you avoid confusion (or maybe add to it...)

Victoria 4 and Michael 4, aka "generation 4."

Genesis 1 aka Victoria 5 and Michael 5.

Genesis 2 Female aka Victoria 6.  Genesis 2 Male aka Michael 6

Genesis 3 Female aka Victoria 7.  Genesis 3 Male aka Michael 8.

Apparently that was just too confusing so they made the numbers match.  There is no Genesis 4, 5 or 6.

Genesis 8 Female aka Victoria 8.  Genesis 8 Male aka Michael 8.

As for older content -

There currently is no converter for clothing between V4/M4 and Genesis 8.  So until one is offered (i.e. Wear Them All), you won't be able to use those.  Certain things don't convert well -

Long billowy sleeves, especially for generations older than Genesis 3.  Some G3 long sleeve will work fine (Medieval Princess Dress for Genesis 3 Female) while others won't (Sorceress for Genesis 3 Female).  Shoes, especially high heels, don't convert well.  Most of my high heel shoes for G1 and G2 won't work for G8 (I don't have any heels for G3).  FLAT shoes will convert (Flat Boots 2 for Genesis 2 Female).

I created a tutorial for fitting older high heels to Genesis 8.  This works for closed shoes where the skin of the foot is not showing.  You can find the link in my signature below (Fitting Old Shoes to Genesis 8). 

M4 and V4 have an "eyebrow" bodypart so you would just need texture / transparency for that. Some V4 characters use the brow part rather than painted-on  brows, for example Surrealiry's characters, so those brows could be used on other characters.

The product is intended for G3F and G3M and uses LIE. Since G8 includes G3 UVs by default it should work on G8 when using the G3 UVs.

Definitely set in the sixties. GMIC was used to BW conversion and paper grain effect

I figured out that the General Poses were included with Michael 4 base. I don't remember seeing this in the list of products. But since Michael 4 himself already has an icon in Smart Contect, I wonder what product he is using.

I created some metadate for the general poses that come with M4 Pro Bundle. These poses appear in the pictures for the product, but they don't in the products list that are included in the bundle. In other words, they must be a part of another product and not a product by themselves.

I forgot to set the root compatibility base. I want to add it so that I can edit one of the poses. (I put it in the lying category but it should be in the sitting category, but DS won't let me edit it because it says I have to pick a product from the product page to use this function. So would I just add the Michael 4 Pro Bundle to the root category list? I don't see it in the list. Or maybe the poses would be in the Michael 4 base?

I should have added that I used the method of the two separated folders, as advised by Daz, since I've read that putting items from outside of DAZ store directly in the main "My DAZ 3D Library" folder can lead to issues. I don't know if this "content package assistant tool" would prevent that kind of issue, but I don't really plan to use it for now (and I don't know what the percentage of items on the net it can make compatible with DIM). 

There are a few typs of content where the separate fodlrs simply won't work  -the mopst obvious being morph expansions for exP figues like Michael 4 and Victoria 4 where only the main /Runtime/Libraries/!DAZ/Figurename folder will be used.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure to understand that : 

For the rest, if you drag the icon from the Content Library to a category in the Smart Content pane while the base figure is loaded and selected it will be made "smart".

I've tried to drag everything from Content Library into Smart Content pane, figure selected or not, nothing "moves". Did you mean that I can make the Smart Content pane interacting with an item loaded via Content library as if it were an item from Smart Content itself (and show items compatible with it in the Smart content pane)?

 

In short, I will never be able to really use items (meaning "choosing them from") Smart content if I've downloaded them from outside of DIM and put them on another folder than "My DAZ 3D Library" ? Is that correct?

They shouldn't move - the Content Library (under ... Formats) is showing files on disc. However, dragging them should add them to categories adn make them smart in that they get tagged as compatible with the active figure (so you want to handle materials separately). Another option is to create a product from a folder, via right-click, which lets you set a clothign item as the smart filter for its materials.

Those points I cannot address as Michael 4 is as 'far back' as I have gone with figure use.

No that will be Michael 3, the precursor to Michael 4 whos is the figure before Genesis

Thank you for the clarification.  In your estimation, would the weapons, shileds, and helmets be usable with only minor adjustments on the Michael 4 model?
