  • Dynamic Clothing Control tutorial? (I can't figure out how to use it)

Since it's manually isntalled it won't show in Smart Content, or the Products or Categories lists in the Content Library pane. You need to look in the Content Library under Daz Studio Formats>My Library>People>Victoria 4>Dynamic Clothing>FlaredDress.

Note that if you are using the clothing on a Genesis figure it won#'t AutoFit to convert - instead you will need to use an animated drape:

    1. Open the Timeline pane if it isn't
    2. The arrow on the Timeline should be at the far left
    3. Pose the figure to fit inside the clothes
    4. Move the arrow on the Timeline to the right
    5. Apply the final pose - don't worry that it now sticks through the clothing
    6. Drag the arrow on the Timeline back to the left
    7. Make sure the figure is still fitted inside the clothing
    8. In the Dynamic Clothing pane set the drape type to Animated, then drape the clothing

  • Generation X2 - Stop Creating New Victoria 4 in data folder

I should add, that after my tranfered morph is complete, I can delete the face and body dsf that GenX creates and my normal Victoria 4 slider returns and in perfect working order with the new morph.

  • Generation X2 - Stop Creating New Victoria 4 in data folder

Everytime I transfer a Victoria 4 character to Genesis 2 Female, the program writes a victoria 4.dsf in my data folder.

When this happens, it somehow overwrites my own Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female and in the shaping tab it combines?... turns to (2) Victoria 4.

This would be fine, except when I use the slider that Gen X2 provides, the characters mouth is always slightly open and Victoria is always on her tip toes when I slide it all the way to 1 and her face is slightly off.

So I'm looking for an explanation or solution incase I'm completely missing something.

  • Dynamic Clothing Control tutorial? (I can't figure out how to use it)

I'm not on my DS PC at the moment so can't be 100% sure,  but I think you need to look in Content Library - whichever you installed it to - People - Victoria 4 - Dynamic Clothing - Flared Dress. Most of those freebies were made for V4, but you can usually get them to drape onto Genesis or G2F or G3F.

  • V4 Muscle Morphs NOT WORKING

Are you sure all the items - Victoria 4, Morphs++, and the Muslce Morphs - are in the same content diectory? The DzCreateExPFiles-v4 should be added by the Victoria 4 base so if it's not there it does sound as if you have the installation spread over two (or more) locations.

  • Missing Victoria 4.2 morphs

Yes, probably I am doing it wrong. But I got it working as I want to in Carrara. And that is the most import thing for me. I have a pile of animation to do and do not have the time to solve technical issues. I have working detour (export Victoria with all the added morphs and import that figure into Carrara). All morphs seems to be working correct. In other words I do not care anymore where what is installed, because I got what I want.

Same for CMS. I have tried to figure this out to.

I wanted to work with Genesis, but because there are many more issues with bvh files and aniblocks, I move on with V4. Now I have much less problems. The only issue I had were the limited amount of morphs. But that is solved. So I can move on with animation. That is my goal. Not solving technical issues which I problably will not need again.

    Victoria 4 Characters

The following images of Victoria 4 characters were rendered in DAZ Studio using either the Iray render engine or the 3Delight render engine. The differences are easily recognizable in the reflections in the mirror in the background, which are much clearer in the Iray renders. The textures for Iray were converted using the N.G.S. Anagenesis 2 - Revolution shader utility by Dimension-Z, and the hair textures were converted for Iray using the UHT2: Ultimate Color shader system by DraagonStorm and SloshWerks.

Again, the images are, going from left right:

    1. Victoria 4 Default by DAZ - also used Aermy by Aery Soul and Dragon Keeper Hair by Arki

    2. MRL Rhapsody for V4 by Mihrelle - also used the V4 Basic Wear bikini by DAZ textured for Iray using the Pd Iray Shader Kit 1 by parrotdolphin, and the Caleb Hair by AprilYSH. Rendered in DAZ Studio 4.9 using Iray.

    3. Astrid for V4, V5, V6 by Most Digital Creations - also used V4 Basic Wear Bikini by DAZ and Posh Hair by Bobbie25

  • why is the DAZ store so expensive?

    XoechZ said:

Not talking about new stuff, which everyone wants to have. But take a look at older things, especially clothes for Victoria 4. These are still way too expensive in my eyes. Why is that so? Most of the old V4 clothes are still in the 20 $ range - or more.

Looking at other shops, I see that I can get similar clothes for V4 with the same (or even better) quality for less than 10 $. So why should I buy here? I think DAZ should be aware of that.

    What do you think?

I'm not sure. The Ingenue & Glamorous Vicki Bundle is still $100, thought V3 has been upgraded now 3 times. I have a hard time believing it still sells well.

    Upgraded? 3 times?

What did these upgrades consist of? Did they fix her shoulder/collar/underarms issues that made her look more like a limebacker than a femme fatale?

I meant we are 3 versions from V3. Actually, it is 4 now as V7 is the current model. The set is still $100 though.

  • Genesis doing the strange

For the past I don't know how long my Genesis file got corrupted somehow. When I  load anything Genesis, even when I lock settings, it has Victoria 5 and a bunch of other settings dialed in. This is playing havok with dial up characters I had paintstakingly created. How can I stop the madness? I've tried reinstalling... saving over...

  • A question

In addition to parenting the figure as zombietaggerung describe, you might find it best to morph the relevant Genesis figure into V4's shape. I assume you will me making the skin at least partially transparent, in order to see the skeleton.

Other way around. Autofit doesn't just let you fit clothes, it lets you fit figures to other figures. So, as long as you have a V4 autofit clone for your figure, you just autofit the V4 skeleton to your figure, maybe resize it a touch if there's poke through (which only happens in extreme figures) and possibly tweak feet angles, and you're there. I've skeletoned Genesis 2 using the V4 for G2 package and Genesis 3 using Wear Them All G3Fpossibly Theorecially, you could go through one of the "how to autofit V4 clothing to G2 or G3" tutorials floating around and do this without buying V4 for G2 or Wear Them All, but I've never tried it.

Oh, and this also works for Cyborg Model 4 and Weapon Mech (but not ASN 4) if you want a figure with an internal robot structure. You can have a lot of fun with several figures being scanned and having most of them have skeletons and one having an internal robot. ;)

  • Morph injection

Carrara's browser has a "Content" tab

In that, we can add our content runtimes like we did in Poser years ago (or still) and/or in Daz Studio

To do so, we go to the File/Folder menu and "Ad Runtime" and locate the folder which contains the runtime folder which holds your M4

If you're using the Daz Install Manager, and installed to the standard default location, then you'll likely already have the My Daz3d Library Runtime folder in your Cantent tab. If not, by default it's located at Users > Public > Public Documents > My Daz 3d Library, and when prompted, select "Runtime" instead of Content (we add that one for Genesis and other DUF Daz Studio files)

So once we have our Runtime folder mapped to Carrara's Content tab in the browser, we can find Michael 4 under Figures > Daz People

That Michael 4 only has basic morphs applied by default. Generation 4 figures used INJ files to Add morphs to them

These INJ files are found in that same runtime folder, but instead of Figures, we go to the Pose category and scroll down to "Daz's Michael 4" and click the little white triangle to open the hierarchy

Inside you'll see a category "Morph Injections"

If you just click on Morph Injections, you'll be able to add all of the morphs from, say, Morphs ++, in one shot by double-clicking the Morphs++ INJ file while M4 is selected in Carrara

This is an image that I had on hand. It's for V4's Facial Dimple morphs, but the principle is the same

I must be doing something wrong. I do have the stuff installed for DAZ but when I try to use the carrar content managemnt tab add folder is gray and Add runtime is active. If I find the morph injection folder and try to add it it says not a valid runtine. What I'm doing wrong?

I mean I do have all teh content in carrara content tray and I can see Michael 4 there as wellas Victoria and teh genesis stuff. But it won't let me add anything.

You are right they are way to expensive for what you get, I also have lost track on what Ive bought over the years and yes most of the things that Ive bought turned out not so nice btw  just to let you know if you tried you could make better yourself just look for tutorials on how to make things, its easy once you get started ..

I would really love to see a high-quality, HD baby. Something that, when rendered, is as photo realistic as Victoria 7, and doesn't look creepy and weird.

Also, a diaper for that same baby. :)

  • Downloaded M4 and V4 but they are not showing up in my Daz

Wherea re you looking? The Genesis figures are in the native Daz Studio format, Victoria 4 and Michael 4 are in Poser format. Also, the figures come with both Poser and DS installation packages - the Poser package is the main figure, the DS one is just some presets, so you must isntall the Poser version.

  • Missing Victoria 4.2 morphs

    Recap:

    • Yes, I am using DIM. Forgot to mention that.
    • Not using CMS. Couldn't get it running.
    • Solved the PowerLoader. I have shortcuts on my desktop to for instance Victoria. Because I am always struggling to find stuff in DS. With double click, DS boots with Victoria instead of default Genesis. But in this way, PowerLoader does not start, so I never knew what you were talking about.
    • With a regular boot and loading Victoria, I have the PL. So I can add the morphs. But it is for the loaded Victoria only and not the default. So this does not help me much in Carrara. But all the news morphs are working.
    • Added the morph Injection folder to my Carrara browser. This gives me the option of injecting the morphs. But they do not work as mentioned before.
    • Running the .bat file did not help.
    • I also figured out there are two Victoria's 4.2. One Victoria 4.2 and one Victoria 4.2 QuickStart. The first one does not show up in my Carrara browser. Not sure if they are the same, because they are stored at different locations. So maybe installed the morphs on the wrong version.
    • I am not so bad with animation, but solving these technical problems are not my favorite part. Maybe too impatient? I want to move on and do not want to stick with technical issues.
    • And I really do not like DS. It is also so confusing, like runtime. A lot of the online documentation has no images. They all have loading errors. DS has tiny windows. But maybe it is me.

But there is good news for me and the ones who are helping me. It is solved with a new detour. I add the new morphs to my character in DS and export it as cr2 and import it into Carrara. Works perfect. Used this very good video:

For the ones who also need this.

    Thanks and thanks.
