I wish that earlier pose packs could be "transferred" to the Genesis 1-3 characters.  Victoria and Michael were able to eat and drink easily!  They even  had intoxication poses!

Posting this here in case someone else has a similar question in the future:

The reason I couldn't find a tutorial/settings for making a 4k LOD, is the Victoria 4 / Micheal 4 come with 4k LOD models already. (and they are pretty good looking). They can be found in your runtime folder at: My DAZ 3D Library\Runtime\Geometries\DAZPeople\blMilMan_m4b_LOD or \blMilWom_v4b_LOD. Make use to use EDIT -> Figure -> Geometry -> Add LOD and import with Poser Settings... Powerloaded will load the LOD, but the model vanishes when LOD is selected. 

Having fun with the V3s! This is Azrea, she comes with another character, Sylph. Who knew we had such beautiful elfish V3s running around? She's wearing the RDNA Morphing Fantasy Gown (retextured with Fabiana and Mec4D shaders) and Dancer Hair (OOT shaders.) Had a little fun adding a background and some mist in postwork. 

Cross Dresser was one of my first content purchases. I've had hit and miss results with it where I've used it. Basically, if something can't be autofit between the generations, there are some weird geometry things going on that are probably going to give Cross Dresser fits, too, from what I've seen. I very rarely use it.
​But, I have transferred some items and had them work. Enough that it is worth the price. Especially if you got the license bundle that cheap. |
​@Sandman_Max Are you using Horizon in DAZ? I just loaded her up, and while I can see there is a face morph and a great set of skin maps, it looks weird on Victoria 4.2s default body. There are no body aging morphs included with the Horizon content, right?
​I just realized I picked up the Ultra Aging morphs but they're Poser morphs. *sigh*... I always forget to check at least one item that turns out to be Poser content in these sales.

Aww, thanks! I fell in love with Vega by looking at the promos. And I just realized that I don't think I have all of her face morphs loaded. Seems like I got a few errors when I loaded her. I think I'm missing a V3 head morph pack. So her features here are probably half default and half Vega. I'm working on Shahara now and got a lot of morph errors but she still looks great. Her skin is rendering nicely. She is something like 21 cents today, and has two other add ons- an aged skin and overlays to create your own makeups for her in Photoshop. So for around 60 cents, you can have a party with her! LOL

Of course if you do not fancy dealing with V3 and her poor bending, you can put all those very cheap V3 skins onto G3F using this:

Oh yes, I forgot about that one! I think it's on my wishlist. At the time it came out, I hadn't fallen madly in love with V3 yet. The SAE version of V3 looks like a hideous, nippley space alien when she loads up. It look Vega to make me see the light!

I categegorize my freebies in the same way that I categorize paid for content.  Most of the freebies I have are fine for commercial use, I don't tend to pick up any that are for private use only.  And i have a TON of freebies.  So if its clothing for Victoria 4 it goes under the appropriate clothing tab.  So it might go under People/Victoria 4/Clothing/Outfits/Fantasy Medieval/Name of clothing item.  I also will put items in multiple categories for kit bashing.  So an outfit would go into the aforementioned category, then I would also part out the set, the boots would go into People/Victoria 4/Clothing/Boots& Shoes/name of boots or shoes. The same with a belt, cape, jacket, jewelry etc.  The whole outfit goes into one spot then the different items in the outfit go to a second folder as well.  So If I want to find boots for something I go straight to the boots folder and have all 50 sets of boots right there so I don't have to go through 50 outfits looking for the right pair. 

And yes, I am a bit ocd when it comes to organizing my content lol.

It calls my attention that it loads the .duf file correctly,
and the corresponding message (in the Mac OS Terminal window, i.e., the underlying Unix)
gives the complete filepath of the .duf file correctly, wherever I place the .duf file, but!
The Did not find path message says /data/... etc., as if it was assuming that
/data/ would be sibling to--? What? The .blend file? The .duf file?

So I repositioned those, to really be siblings to the /data/ folder, but the result is exactly the same.
Also, since the error is triggered from the material.py script, I tried turning off all material options
from inside Blender, but that had no effect.

mCasual's TeleBlender system does an excellent job of translating DAZ materials to Cycles,
Collada export from DAZ Studio transfers the DAZ rig,
so what I was hoping for with the Diffeomorphic script was a nice transfer of facial expressions,
including speech, which, according to Thomas Larsson himself, takes into account
both morph changes and bone changes and translates that into Blender drivers(!)

Sorry, I'm not at my computer now but it should be in the same content folder with V4 herself. There should be an icon to use the V3 body. But I highly recommend you get the clones to use V3 clothes on Genesis because V3 doesn't bend as well but has lots of nice clothes very often on deep sale. I love postwork, and do stylized art often, so I don't mind fixing things in post, but if you do, the clones are the way to go.

You can't use it on V4, by itself, but there is a separate V3 body that came (free) with V4 when I first got her ages ago and it should still be there, check the product page. You can also use V3 clothes on Genesis1 if you have legacy clones or whatever it's called to use V3/A3 clothes on G1. You can then bump it up to other Genesis generations with Wear Them All.

Victoria 4 clothing can be converted for use with Genesis, for free if you convert up one generation at a time. Fourth generation character textures can be used on Genesis, or can be used on later figues with add-ons.

I agree, it all seems so dated. To be honest, I've only got to see 'RDNA' and my eyes glaze over. I've no doubt that it all has it's uses for a lot of people, just not me. I bought some of the plants when they first moved over, but that was enough for me to realise that not only is a lot of it not exactly optimised for Studio, the sales pages are vague to say the least. Do these plants have geometry, or are they just billboards? If I squint at the page long enough or turn it upside down to shake it for a bit to see what drops out, I might find out. Life's too short.

There might well be a few things I 'might' use eventually that are going cheaply, but there have been a few bargains in more recent or even new items since the sale began and I'd rather save my money for any more of those that might show up. It's still only the 9th of the month.

It's 3 pages for me.

I'm going to slide into jerk-mode with you, cos I kinda agree. :) I don't use V4 at all so those ones are no good to me, and I THINK some of the morphs showcased use pmd's so no good in DS anyway. The terradome stuff is for Poser only. The "ibl etc" things are for Poser only. The only thing that might of been of interest to me was Thursday's Child for Cookie....but while I have cookie, I never use her. And to be honest, I'm not that particularly interested in spending hours tweaking Thursday's Child for iray. As a freebie, I would have nabbed it...and probably had it sit in my runtime for a looooong time before I got around to doing anything. And because of the coupon glitch, I couldn't be bothered paying the extra money and then waiting a few days for customer service to refund the difference...and not even really now due to currency differences whether it'd be the same or less. (plus we shouldn't have to do that - it should work right the first damn time).

If you're a Poser user and/or you still use V4, that sale is BRILLIANT :) 

On the other hand, it's quite possible that all the interesting stuff for me is not showing cos I already have it. LOL.
