  • How to automatically dial a clothing body morph when it's not named as intended ?

Thank you, I fixed a copy of all the impacted files (including ones from another product by Sveva), renaming them correctly and placing them inside a library dedicated to temporary fixes. I'll open a ticket as soon as possible.

A last question: do I open one ticket per product or one ticket for the two of them ?

It is strange, especially because doing so without removing the autogenerated morph means the clothes will shrink inside a figure's body.

Such a sweet pupper. I'd love a border collie morph, too. But need a short (smooth) hair for my red & white pal.

@Sfariah, I forgot about https://www.daz3d.com/phenotypes-for-dog-8 even though it's in my Wishlist. LOL. I'm sure we could make the border collie shape with that. The we'd need textures since I don't think there are any existing textures with border markings. I think Bully for Dog 8 has a similar "mask" but not the rest.

    Awesome!  That is great.

  • G9 shaping glitch?

I don't see such a shape on G9 on my side. More likely there's a corrective morph from a character related to Shoulder, which has no 2nd Stage Controller.

As Elor said, select G9, turn on Show Hidden Properties...  in Parameters pane, select Currently Used, you may be able to find some weird xxxx_cbs_xxxx corrective morph dialed, except for the built-in corrective morphs that shown in below screenshot.

Yeah, I could reproduce the issue. I wonder if the vendor wanted the user to manually dial the morph... but that seems to be wrong.

It's easy to fix as below:

    - Locate the Victoria 9 Body.dsf, rename it to Victoria9_body_bs_Body.dsf.
    - Open it with Notepad++. Ctrl + A. Go to menu: Plugins > MIME Tools > URL Decode...
    - Ctrl + H to Replace All: Victoria 9 Body with Victoria9_body_bs_Body.  Ctrl + S to Save.

Then reload the skirt on G9, it'll work.

  • How to automatically dial a clothing body morph when it's not named as intended ?

    Hello,

According to the store description, 'dForce Hot Caribbean Nights for Genesis 9' has Victoria 9 among the supported shapes:

    https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-hot-caribbean-nights-for-genesis-9

But when I'm loading it on Victoria 9, the body morph used is an auto-generated one (as shown by me being the author and the absence of the file path field):

Studying the situation a bit further, there is indeed a 'Victoria 9 Body' morph, but the file is name 'Victoria 9 Body.dsf':

    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/110736/file_list

On the clothes themselves, it's appear as a visible morph and when dialing 'Victoria9_body_bs_Body' (which is what Daz Studio is looking for if I'm understand how things work) down to zero and Victoria 9 Body up to 100%, everything seems to fit perfectly:

Is there a solution to solve the problem (outside of having to fill a ticket, which I'm planning to do later) and to get the morph created by Sveva to be used automatically by Daz Studio when fitting these clothing items on Victoria 9?

If you fix the deformation with Hexagon, check this thread: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/9021201/#Comment_9021201

If you fix it with Blender, suggest you not do it with Daz to Blender bridge though it works for DS 4.22 / 4.24... because it'll make the process a bit cumbersome.

Just directly export to OBJ and fix it with Blender. Then import OBJ with Morph Loader Pro, with the settings in below screenshot.

    Thanks for your input @crosswind

Just need to ask:  Do I save just the G8F in posed form, dForced and the tank top, as an .obj? Nothing else?

Yup, Ctrl + Select the posed G8F and the wearable, with the settings in Export. (screenshot 1). Nothing else. G8F will be used as the reference when fixing deformation on the wearable. In Blender or other applications, just make fix on the wearable and then export wearable to OBJ.

Or do I save G8F and Top as separate .objs in Base Resolution? Reason I'm asking is Jay Versulis has a youtube video and he sends the genesis and clothes separtely.

Not necessary at all. Export them together as above-mentioned. And yes, setting Resolution Level to Base Resolution on the wearable or setting View SubD Level as 0 is a must .. before exporting.

Thank you all very much for the input! It sounds like Camera Magic is the way to go! That's so awesome!

Another question I have, if I may. I have some character that are androids, and they have no facial features or ears. I have found a way (Via Faceless) to remove their faces entirely, but I need to find a way to remove their ears and have had ZERO luck finding something that does this.

If you know sculpting, you can easily make an Earless morph for the figure, like the one I roughly made in the screenshot down below.

Also, one more question: Can I apply Filatoon to ANY Gen9s that I made? Or only if I start out the gate w/ a Filatoon Figure? I am currently of the understanding that they act as separate, independant entities and generally aren't compatible with each other. I want my models to have a "Arcane-esque" cartoony, cel-shaded sort of look that Gen9 doesn't offer.

Yes, you can apply Filatoon shader onto any surfaces of a Figure, a Prop, etc.

I'm sorry if it's generally not okay to go off topic like this, if need be I can make another thread.

Il problema è segnato in rosso. cool

Scherzi a parte, l'anteprima si blocca anche quando carichi "quella roba lì" da sola nella scena o solo quando lo applichi ad un personaggio?

Stai utilizzando uno shader particolare? Prova a mettergli uno shader "Default" e vedi come reagisce.

If a character is posed and/or not in base shape, you need to tick 'Reverse Deformations' when creating the morph.

  • Smooth Out Imperfections in Clothing When Posed?

I'm wondering if it's possible to smooth out bumps and imperfections in clothing after dForce has been simulated?

Would sending it to Blender and back work and how is it done when the genesis female character is posed? Does the daz to blender bridge work for 4.22 and 4.24?

I've tried to smooth them out in Hexagon using the brushes. However it didn't work properly after sending back to DAZ. It did create a morph but it does not seem to have worked and something different happens when the slider is adjuisted in DAZ.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

  • Methods for Graphic Novel creation.

You can use the timeline to do "sequential art" but it is a bit of a PITA - basically you just need to make sure that every key set is of type "constant". Daz Studio will (at least it seems to me) fight you on this: every time you set or change a parameter it will set the key to its version of spline interpolation (there's no way to set the default key type as there was in Poser) so ...

Every time you've got a frame the way you like it: lasso -select all those frame's keys and change their type to constant (thankfully you can collapse the scene hierarchy on the left of the timeline - setting the parent object's key type to constant sets all it's children's keys too)

Maybe it's just me but I find it advisable to keep lassoing the keys on frame 0 and setting those to constant too. E.g. if you change a parameter on frame 10 that you've never touched before, and set it to constant, then it seems that DS will create a key for that parameter on frame 0 - not constant of course - and then happily interpolate it through frames 1-9. Aargh!

It can help to start your first frame with a zero pose that sets all the figure's parameters, just to set the keys on every bone. Then load, build your first pose on top of that. For each subsequent frame start by copying and pasting the keys from the previous frame. This helps if you insert or re-order frames, e.g. you don't find that the elbow bend in the frame you've just copied wasn't set in that frame but carried over from the frame before.

DON'T use frame 0 for your first frame - every single morph can get keyed (initialized) on that frame, and copying and pasting all that stuff can really lead to large file sizes and bog your system down

I tend to make my final frames on every 2nd, 3rd or more timeline frame. It makes lasso selection easier and it lets me try out e.g. pose, camera or lighting changes in the intermediate timeline frames that I can either copy and paste back onto the frame I'm changing, keep as an alternative, or just delete.

When you've completed a frame: save the file with a subscript of the frame number, just in case working on a later frame screws stuff up

... but, hopefully, at the end of all that you will have one file with all the assets and frames, which is great if you want to change the appearance of any item and have that stay consistent across all the frames.

Good luck (and keep those keyframes constant!)

  • Scripting in DAZ Studio 2025

Turned the studio restart script into an autolaunch script with added info because Genesis8 behaves differently in Studio 2025.

One can choose to see the info, save out for later viewing or skip the info all together. you will be prompted to save the scene and has overwrite checks.

I have not spent much time on correcting the eyelash morph issue with G8 so users can ignore it and continue with the restart and reload of their scene,

If scene only has g9 there was no issue with the eyelash problems.
