Black Is Beautiful II
Well, it took two months last time before Kelly for V7 came out here, so that's progress of a sort. Adrienne G3F came out at Renderosity in between Victoria and Kelly. (And to be fair(ish), Michael 7 had not one but TWO day-of-release black men, with Dash in the pro bundle and Darren a PA product.)
Michael's sort of always been different. M5 also had a black man in the Pro bundle. I do feel this is important with the Vicky/Mike bundles because those are considered the main/default bundles to get.
Victoria 8The Genesis 8 Female body shape is very similar to G3F, but there have been alot of upgrades behind the polygons. Better joint bends, and automatic muscle flexing to name a couple. I have not bought Victoria 8 and probably will not, I'm waiting for some of the other Generation 8 people to come out like Bethany and Kalea.
So... Genesis 2?Personally, I am willing to use any figure, but Genesis 2 is my most common. Each generation of figure has gotten better in some fundamental ways. For example, the default joint bends of Victoria 6 and Michael 6 are much better than the corresponding default bends of Victoria 4 and Michael 4. See it in the shoulders even if fully clothed. However, there are fixes that can be done in Carrara, and there are 3rd party products to improve V4 and M4 joint bends, so I'm not saying joint bends would stop me from using V4 or M4 if I think they are good for another reason (for example, I have some Carrara hair products that grow directly on the mesh of V4 or M4).
I own some of the GenX clones for converting content between figures. I also have several character conversion packs for Poser's wardrobe wizard. It is possible to do 2-step conversions (convert to M4, then to Genesis 2 male). With those, I took some time while watching sports to use Studio's transfer utility to convert a lot of my content for other figures to be used with Genesis 2. Just kept converting content through two NFL playoff games. Now I can use my content for Poser 7's Simon and Sydney with Daz's Genesis 2 figures. I can use content for the original Freak and Aiko3 with Daz's Genesis 2 figures. All that in addition to the more general ablity to use V4 and M4 content with V6 and M6.
Here is an example. I own some vintage formal clothing content for the original David figure that was based on the V3 mesh. I also own the David 3 genx clone. If I plan to have a scene that harkens back to Dickens, I am more likely to use the Genesis 2 male morphed to the David 3 shape, wearing converted David 3 clothing content, then I am to use the original David 3 figure with its content. The Genesis 2 Male morphed to look like David 3 will pose better than the original David 3.
EDIT: Bad example - don't have the David 3 morph for Genesis 2 male. I have converted David 3 clothing for G2M, though, just don't own the product to shape G2M to be David 3.
Note - I do not typically focus on photo-realism.
Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 9I haven't been here in awhile Novica. I hope your mother and son are improving. My mother broke her hip at 86 and they had her up and walking in short order... Sort of walking that is. The PT sessions made all the difference, but she fought them. It worked out finally. But to have to be taking care of multiple generations...
I bit on the VIctoria 8 Pro Bundle and added the head and body morphs and Vyktohria's Ruby. I haven't spent much time with it - I prefer Ruby to V8 and look forwared to what some of the better PAs do in the coming months. G8 backwards compatibility is a bit hit and miss (misses on every OOT G3 hair I own), but the free g3f to g8f pose converter is excellent. For the meantime I'll stick with G3.
Day 4 of Generation 8 and...This one has nothing to do with Victoria 8, because I didn't bother buying her. It's Genesis 8 all the way - all I bought were the head and body morphs and the expressions. I've been putting the morphs through SimTenero's randomiser to create new shapes and then resurfacing them with SB3 textures. I've done a few of them now and there's nothing particularly special about the one pictured - I just wanted show one that uses existing stuff from a mix of previous generations.
As mentioned, it uses a Skin Builder 3 texture, and the top, hair and skirt are all Genesis 2. The shoes are Genesis, and the stockings are from a Genesis 3 product. All of this went straight on with no trouble - I did have to adjust the top a bit to fit over the skirt, but they're from two different G2 outfits and I've had to do that anyway when using the same combination on G3 and even on G2. Heels can be problematic - I've had the most success with Genesis and G3 shoes and the least with G2 in my limited experiments with them. So far, tops have needed to be of a tighter fit - there's a lot of under-boob clinging going on which shows up a mile away with anything looser fitting.
I'll probably buy her a pair of heels of her own eventually, but in the meantime I think I can get a lot out of my current G8 resources and existing content, and there's nothing at all wrong with G3, either. No rush for the shiney stuff here :)

She looks like she's 45 going on 60. Sorry I just don't get it. Enlighten me please because I am missing something here.
Um, not everyone needs a 16 year old supermodel in a sleazy outfit for their render. Some ppl like to tell a story ;). I LOVE original characters that look like real people. I LOVE this character ;).

Some folks have complained G4 looks too masculine, but they've obviously never met women that look like that. And, as yoi said, she looks more realistic than before.
Oh I have met women that look like that and they did look too masculine, LOL Realistic doesn't always mean attractive, LOL

I really do like what you did with this, she looks like a Real person who one could meet on the streets passing by stores on her way to her somewhat stressed work :)
And I too really love Genesis 8 too, haven't gotten V8 yet cause my wallet refuse to let me right now lol
Thanks. I think you saw what I was seeing when I was trying to create her :)

Yay! She's supposed to look older. What I was aiming for was somebody with a reasonably natural looking expression, a 'normal' looking older face which didn't make her look like an aging super-model and just enough chunk around the middle to suggest she wasn't willing to let herself go yet but wasn't so obsessed with it that she couldn't help giving in to the odd cream cake urge. I saw her as some kind of senior schoolteacher or one of the hospital admin types that spends her days struggling with budgets while the medics moan at her because there's no money and the hours are too long. I can't see glamour-girl Vicky being half as convincing in the same role.

Linwelly's GroveSo here is my first real render with a g8 figure, its https://www.daz3d.com/fwsa-elizabeth-hd-for-victoria-8, and I used the Epic godrays from ThePhilosopher https://www.daz3d.com/epic-props-godrays-volumetric-light-for-iray here which are ... pretty close to a guarantee for an epic render, so very awesome!

[Released] Bone Doctor Pose Control [Commercial]I have tested conversion of the poses from https://www.daz3d.com/dynaenergy-poses-for-genesis-3-female-s
on https://www.daz3d.com/fw-rebekah-hd-for-victoria-8
I rendered her together with https://www.daz3d.com/victoria-7 using the same pose.
I really like, that one can just apply Genesis 3 Female pose on Genesis 8 and the script take care of adjusting pose on G8.
Very clever and well done RiverSoft Art.
Dont I have to start a script? I just apply a G3f pose and the scripts start automatically? No, the script execution is not automatic. You have to apply the pose first. Then run the script.
Ok, thank you. I misunderstood the posters comment then :)
What's wrong with my gal?i test,,
i loag basic "Genesis3" and "Genesis 8"
they are 100% identical,,
some change only when you apply character,,The problem is not with the base G8F is with Victoria 8, the height dosen't match with 5' 10" (179.3 cm) indicated in the Victoria 8 page, (at least in my case).
Transfer Utility and Genesis 8 ProblemI do not get V8, but If Victoria 8 morph change scale node, (usually root node), (you check parameter of node), it may cause probloem when use TU with remove source shape from targe option.. TU not count scale. (I do not know if ds up-date it or not for each version, may change)
at least remove scale from V8, then make clothing mesh witch fit to V8, (non scale) use reverse option. with V8 FBM. (set it as source shape)
But I believe, make mesh for zero base G8female , then auto-follow morphs by Victoria 8 , more easy and usually work best.
(after fit with base shape well, you can overwrite generate morph (FBM FHM) to fit V8 better.
Transfer Utility and Genesis 8 ProblemI have finished up a quick dress for Victoria 8, but I'm having trouble with the transfer utility when I go to rig. As you can see from the first image, the mesh is a reasonable fit on import, but after I use the transfer utility the dress "floats". I have used the utility many times for fitting items to G/2/3, but I am stumped with this problem. Am I missing something, or is this a bug? To me it seems the transfer utility thinks Victoria 8 is much taller than she is. Could this be an issue with the template transfer utility is using?

Black Is Beautiful IIWhile I'm not surprised that the Victoria Pro Bundle lacks a black female again, I am surprised we actually did get a day one G8F black woman. I guess that's a step forward.

By the by, Joana G8F has no makeup options. She's got a few lipstick options, but nothing more than that. Odd.
And, now, just for the heck of it, a bunch of people sitting around in a park. Featuring from left to right: B-Jay G2M (GenX to G3M), Miss-B G2F (to G3F), M3D Coen/Jalen shapes for G3M, Imari G3F, Adama G3M. It didn't actually turn out quite like I wanted, but it's not actively terrible, so.
"Brace yourself, my dear wallet! There's always another Sale - and Glitches!"Is it just me or does the Victoria 8 Pro Bundle seem a little thin compared to pro bundles in the past?
Well, checking all my generation 7 pro bundles, there are 12 items each: 1 Base 7 figure, 2 characters, 2 hairs, 2 pose sets and 4 wardrobe items and the anatomical elements.
The Victoria 8 Pro Bundle has 13 items: 1 Base 7 figure, 2 characters, 2 hairs, 2 pose sets and 5 wardrobe items and the anatomical elements. From the product page for the bundle:
- Pro Bundle Bonus: Lingerie Robe Set for Genesis 8 Female(s)
Pro bundles have been 11-12 items for figures some time now.
What's wrong with my gal?In Victoria 8's description page, the height is: 5 '10 "(179.3 cm) Same as Victoria 7. But Victoria 8 in my case, appears with a higher height.I uninstall and reinstall with DIM and with Dazz Connect but the result is the same.
Scaling, parameters and morphs appear to be correct. What may be happening?

Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 9Originally included itemsTo add to what Mike has said, once upon a time, having a collection of DAZ Studio versions going back to version 1, I decided to sort through all the content that had been included with the various versions of Studio over the years, in part to determine the source of some of the content in my DAZ/Poser library. As Mike mentioned, none of the content included for free with DAZ Studio shows up as individual items in your Product Library in your DAZ Account here, unfortunately. I won't regale you with everything I discovered, but can confirm that Victoria 4 was indeed included with versions of DAZ Studio 3.x, but I do not believe that it was a "lite" version, but the regular V4 Base (which doesn't include all that much to begin with). One problem is that while content included with DAZ Studio 2.x and 4.x were separate downloads from the application, the content for DAZ Studio 3.x was included as part of the application package, which was a Windows executable (.exe) file. The only way to extract the content is to run the executable, which also installs the application. You can always uninstall the application afterwards, but the process is a little awkward to say the least. BTW, installing DS 3 alongside your existing DS 4 will cause no conflicts.
If V4 does not show up as an individual item in your account here because you obtained it as part of the included content with DAZ Studio 3, then you should have the last version of DAZ Studio 3 released listed in your Product Library and can manually download it and try what I suggested above. It does not matter whether it was the free or paid version of DAZ Studio 3, as long as you obtained it directly from DAZ, it should be listed.
