Does Daz Central replace Install Manager?
Daz Central is sort of a simplier less flexible version of Install Manager (strictly speaking Daz Install Manager or DIM). If you want something that you don't have to configure, opt for Daz Central; if you are going to do customization such as placing libraries on external drives etc then use DIM
Does Daz Central replace Install Manager? The Install Manger and DIM are the same thing correct?

Lost and FoundI installed the Appliance Pack with DAZ CENTRAL. When I open it, I have an arrow pointing to the Appliance Pack. When I double-click it, I see the image in the attached file.
The Appliance Pack is in the Lost and Found. ??? The icons for the pack have warning symbols.
So, How do I install the appliance pack?
A few items installed via DIM showing as not installed in DSIf you are using DIM, DAZ Central or manual installation, you should never log in to DS.
A few items installed via DIM showing as not installed in DSI have a few thousand products purchased from the Daz store that are installed and working just fine. I have about 20 products, however, that I installed that show in DS as NOT installed. I replicated this on two separate machines; one machine I used DIM and the other, Daz Central. Both appeared to install just fine in their respective installers, but in DS, they look like they're not installed at all, and show up in the "install" tab. One example is this product:
https://www.daz3d.com/catherine-hd-for-genesis-8-femalesEven more confusingly, under the "parameters" tab I can see the shape sliders for that figure's head, body, etc. So I think the files are likely in the correct location, but DS is not aware of them somehow. Distressingly, the Genesis 8 Male and Female Head and Body morphs are part of this problematic group for me.
Oddly, I tried to install one of these products using Daz Connect (on the machine that uses Daz Central to install) and it worked. I do not want products installed in multiple different ways though, and especially not with Connect. Yeah, already tried manually installing too. (Download, put in DIM installers folder, etc) and either it didn't work or I did in incorreclty.
The last thing to note, I guess, is that I changed the location my products are installed at to the E:\ drive. I'm pretty sure I got all the paths changed correctly though as I have literal thousands of products installed there that are working correctly. Does anyone have any advice? - Banyan
p.s. I tried uploading a screenshot showing this, but the file wouldn't upload. Weird. The I Miss the Old Days Complaint ThreadLeatherGryphon said:
Complaint: Small dogs: For several years (when I was young-er & athletic) I rode bicycle around Melbourne (central east coast), Florida. There was one corner property where a couple of free-roaming little yapper dogs would launch themselves at my unprotected heels. (In Florida, many normal people wear flip-flops while riding bicycle) Got me good once.
However, I did manage to slip my foot under one and fling it (not kick it) back into the yard a subsequent time, and cursed out the flabbergasted owner. I don't feel sorry at all.
No sir, don't like small dogs. Give me a cat anytime.
Yes, so... along with having a vivid imagination, another thing that has been consistent about me is I've always liked getting home. It was mindblowing to me to find that I now have coworkers who get to work early, stay late, and rarely miss a day because they view it as an escape from being at home. I think most of them have a spouse who either wants to be away from them or who they want to be away from. But aside from being unable to keep a man long enough to need time away from one, I've been socially awkward in public and always happy at home. And when I was a little kid, sometimes I would run down the street on the way home from school. I just had no lack of energy for running, and it would get me home faster. Other times I would just walk, and by the time I was done imagining adventures, I'd be home. One time, my running managed to trigger a couple of dogs to chase me. Two comically small dogs that I probably could have defeated even at that age and size. But just like a cat, I was triggered to escape the dogs at all cost. So now instead of running home, I was running for my life from these tiny twin dogs. I really don't know who looked more ridiculous between me and the dogs.
daz central crashes on Mac OS venturaThanks for the info, Richard. What I really like about Daz Central is the decent-sized thumbnails, which I can no longer access (just get spinning beachball of dissapointment). Is there any way to get similar thumbnails in Install Manager?

Unable to Load Genesis 8 and 8.1 Basic CharactersIf you find the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials product (in the Products list in the Content Library or in the Products tab of Smart Content) and right-click on the container is there an uninstall option? If so use it and see if the fiels will then load - if there is a Connect install, through Daz Studio, in the database then DS will try to use that even if there is also a DIM/Daz Central/Manual install.
Daz Studio SortingAs a relatively new user who actually enjoys using the Smart Content tab and installing things through Daz Central... I have one request/suggestion which would make my life so much easier.
In the Figures menu, it would be so helpful if one of the distinctions was to sort figures by Generation. If the drop down had options for "Gen 3/Gen8/Gen 9 and sorted only those characters into them, it would save me a lot of headache. Just a thought.
Thank you.

Except for the Slime attack, has anyone been able to download that item?
Yes, via Daz Central. The whole package installs perfectly fine via Daz Central now, awesome stuff! I also like how it's organized in the Smart Content, with all the addons in a single product.
One last question, does anyone know about a pose pack for Otto? I can't find anything on the Daz Market, but maybe somewhere else? Some basic poses would be a very helpful starting point for all these tentacles If someone knows one, please let me know. :-)
Sorry, there're poses for Octo's head only, located in the Parameters/Actor panel. Anyway thanks for your appreciation!

What we REALLY need is some authentic Native American clolthing. ;)
Absolutely. Since the Cheyenne Bundle for V4/M4 about 800 Daz years ago, there has only been one halfway serious male outfit for G2M - and it had no shoes. As we all know, the historical Native Americans didn't like to walk around barefoot, just like us.
For Central America, there's the beautiful G8M Aztec Warrior set from Meshitup, but that has no women's clothing. South America doesn't come up anyway, neither with the Andean nor the Amazonian cultures.
It would be a good start to simply bring the old Cheyenne bundle up to date, because that was very good.

Any update on DazCentral use in Ventura (13.4 (22F66))?
DazCentral consistently hangs on my Studio Ultra, after any navigation within the DC window. Thanks.
Development is concentrating on Install Manager, which has just had an update and which is gaining features like the ability to launch the applications to load contetn that were previously Daz Central tricks. The links/advice for getting an installer are also moving back to pointing to Install Manager.
Daz to Unity not importing textures? So I have the latest Daz Studio version and dowloaded the bridge on Daz Central. I did everything as described in DtU page but my characters always end up like that, the thing is I tested this same character before and it worked, but now it doesn't. One screen I noticed is not showing up and always did before is the one where you had to click "Yes, I made a backup" I don't know if it has anything to do with the issue though.
Mechasar's Characters Catalog: Who's next? (commercial)I do not have the Zuna update in DIM or Daz Central or my product library.
UPDATE: found it under the package in the product library -- trying the manual downloads of everything.

First of all, I want to thank you for all the wonderful models you have created. I am a huge fan of yours and own most of your catalog, so this package is a blessing. Unfortunately it does not install properly and stops at 50%(via daz central). When I hit install again, it restarts at 50% and immediately aborts again. I do see the new character for Beverly in my DS lib though, but that's it. All the rest doesn't show up, neither in the lib nor in the specific products/morphs/parameters.
Thank you for your warm appreciation! About that issue, as a PA I don't use Daz Central, but I think in this case it is best to use the Daz Install Manager in order to download the add-ons individually, and ONLY the add-ons related to the characters you already installed in your library. I know this approach could be more cumbersome, but I hope it will solve the problem. Thanks again for your gratitude and patience!

This thread may explain the problem and contains a self-help solution.
Did I mention that I am old and have few remaining brain cells? Thanks. It did explain it but I do not think It will help because I installed with Daz Central.
.duf file does not existThe log didn't attach - we seem to be having issues, on and off, with attachments. Please try using an external host 9e.g. onewDricve, Google Drive, DropBox etc.) and posting a link.
/People/Genesis 9/Characters/TMA Kaya G9.duf is a relative path - DS will try adding that to each content directory you have set until it finds the file or runs out of directories. If the installation has somehow ended up with an extra folder then that can cause the issue. So can having a Connect install (through Daz Studio) that is no longer there, or failed to decrypt properly, even if the DIM/Daz Central/Manual install is there.
