Ok so I am reading this sentence, "Buy any Newly Mad item to get Victoria 5, Victoria 6, Victoria 7, or Victoria 8 FREE*"

 

Awsome! Right underneath are the "40% OFF Newly Mad Releases" which include the RY Alison for Victoria 8. So I've popped that in my cart and from the wording above ("Buy any Newly Mad item to get... Victoria 8 FREE*") put Victoria 8 in my cart too to get her for free... but she's coming up full price. Am I misunderstanding how this deal works, because it seems to clearly state buying a Newly Mad item will give you Victoria 8 for free in your cart, and the RY Alison is listed under the Newly Mad Releases category.

im having the same issue or misunderstanding. putting v8 in my cart gives me an $89 bill. and when i click next it doesnt take it off. im confused

 

Is this offer only for PC+-members? Don't read that there, but maybe thats the problem?

Another idea: What, if the "put in cart" does not belong to that specific offer? So we can order without v8 and get that afterwards free?

Same thing happening for me. Ry Allison added, then Victoria 8, then a temp PC+ (which did go to $2.20 in the cart). Victoria 8 still listed full price in the cart. Stayed full price as I proceeded to add some monthly freebies. Stayed full price right up  to entering payment, at which point I bailed out.

Where did you get $89 from? You only need to pay $16.63 if you buy the new RY Alison bundle along with the bonus item which goes down to $2.20 in cart. And you don't need to buy all three. You just need to buy or own one. If you have Leroy, you should have the discount. I don't own Nila and the discount worked. I own Leroy but I also had the new bundle in the cart. The only thing I paid more than $2.20 for was the new bundle at $16.63.

That was back when it seemed you needed 3 items to make the key work, as that is how it is worded. I would need two items I didnt' own, and they were appearing in the cart at $89

Gotta say, little bit peeved that having owned all the Victorias mean I don’t get the “joy” of a free product. Shame they don’t do an alternate offer of othe4 base characters that Victoria owners can choose from. 

I remember last time they offered any base Victoria character as a freebie,there was a purple banner for everyone who already had all the Victorias to get an extra discount.  I suppose they're not doing that this time because it's March Madness and there already several discounts available.

So there are entries there with the filter field blank, just not when you enter something?

I enter for instance "staff" or "sword" and it used to locate files, or I'd enter Victoria or G* and it used to locate poses with "Victoria" or "G8" inthe content library.  not sure why it stopped working

A whole slew of the kind of morphs that you seem to be wanting were actually a part of the Stephanie 4 package. As I recall, her bundle came with a set of morphs for several alternate character shapes and sizes including a couple of much shorter morphs. Her Pro bundle is currently on sale for something like $7. 

Quite a few people regard Stephanie 4 as Victoria 4.5, due to improvements in the tech which had taken place in something like 4-5 intervening years.

Hey all. Bit of a daft question... but how the 'eck can I make Victoria shorter?

I mean, the 'no duh' answer is "that Y-scale slider" but that seems to make these annoying lumps in the limbs that are really obvious.

Even the 'legs shorter' morphform just lowers the Y-scale of the legs and leaves me with these issues.

...I primarily use G3F 

I don't have the Vicky7 NPMs as they specify Victoria 7 ["Specialty Breast Morphs for Victoria 7"] instead of G3F. and I don't use V7 as a base for my younger characters .  I have found in the past, that unless used with the actual character intended, they don't work as well (I have the Steph4 and Vicky6 NPMs as well as the Slender Steph6 Morphs). 

What I do have are the Growing Up Morphs for G3F (which has it's own breast morphs), Breast Control for G3F,  Natural Breast Shapes for G3F, G3F Female Body Morph Resource Kit, and the general G3F Body Morphs. I wish there was still an Androgynous Morph like the original Genesis had.  Dialling a bit of that in used to work well when creating younger females than just using the Breasts Small/Gone sliders as those would often cause breast mesh to collapse or distort.  I have the last version of GenX but going from the old Tri-Ax weight mapping used for Genesis to the current one at times presents unwanted distortion issues.

It's not just resizing along the Z axis either, but also the diameter which can be difficult to reduce properly without again, running into distortion which can affect the look of clothing fits.  I also notice that most of the base female characters have breasts that perk slightly outwards, while the armpit area doesn't look quite right (Breast Control  has some adjustments for this).  

Are there any PAs out there looking at this and thinking about putting together an "art bundle" of objects to populate your museum and art gallery renders?

Or do the code for a 3D program from zero...or design the operative system for the 3d program

Not to go in any more, but if you watch almost any video about behind the scenes special effect work, they PRIDE themselves on rewriting all these 3D programs or adding code to get it to do what they want it to.

So even the high-end professionals think all these fancy 3D programs are inadequate for the work THEY want to create.

Which is the same as the Daz user- using scripts. Scripts probably fall under power user territory. It's the same idea that Daz Studio, by itself is unable to do what you need it to so you add...oh, you get the idea.

and build the components of a new computer with your own cpu and gpu design...
Actually some do. Computer building is a thing. All the way down to the lighting in the case, fans and the cooling.

Those that are REALLY into computers, frown on people just 'buying a whole computer' at the store. For them, BUILDING a COMPUTER is (part of) THE ART (form). And yep, they do take pictures and share them.

As to the broader discussion of what's art and what's not, I don't think you can create a definition.  Just think..

Usually you put a word to describe the thing before it or after it to be more specific. Just because we don't know what those words are, doesn't mean they don't exist and are being used by those that need to use them.

Last example is Kick Boxing.

Kick Boxing exists in every format and form.

There is a FULL COMBAT/Contact Kick Boxing sport.

There is a kick boxing Tournament Sport, which is NOT full contact.

There's someone taking self defense and being taught kick boxing techniques.

There are Kick Boxing gyms who do not compete, but they light spar and teach Kick Boxing.

There are aerobic classes called Kick Boxing that have some Kick Boxing techniques/elements put to music.

Most people who understand those differences would never think they were ALL the SAME.

And most people couldn't watch someone throw a kick and for sure know which aspect they partake in.

But that difference does make a difference.

I'll say it again. When humans are into something. they tend to dig deep into it and get more involved with it- they DO MORE.

Why or how is art so special that this doesn't happen in that arena.

What is a Daz Power User or Power Customer?

Someone who's been around forever-  before or since day one.

Someone with a massive library -some with truly ancient items.

Someone with a 'Daz budget' - some have a DAILY budget.

What are those -that ....

Use and Write scripts.... edit textures....create their own morphs.....use Plug-ins.....

User other programs aside from Daz....

Heck, even use OTHER RENDERING ENGINES......

Do post work....master the system/tools/resources- enough to not need post work...

learn Deforce.....weight maps....geometry editing...modifiers.....

Those are all people digging deep into this 3D thing.         

So you have to RESPECT those that do more and understand their frustration when someone does little to nothing and wants to land right beside them as ARTISTS with ART.

That why I said it takes all three, because at the end of the day, we are going to judge the work for effectiveness. Doesn't matter how the artist feels about it.
