It probably would have been good enough to just not make it stop working. When I installed DAZ Studio on a newer computer, I had no idea all my old scene files would just be block figures with no shape, or invisible figures because something wasn't carried over. Richard Haseltine had explained that there was some thing everybody did in the big transition to keep all their old stuff working. But at that time, I had gotten pissed at DAZ and jumped ship to Poser. By the time I came back, they were on Genesis 3. So I missed that big transition. I know Victoria 4 doesn't do all that fancy new stuff but some of the characters were very pretty.

Will the Carraractors accept body and actor morphs?

I tried the Victoria 7 morph but can't figure out how to apply it.

I'm also considereing getting the Genesis 3 Body Morphs.

BTW. I'm overjoyed that I was able to load Gen 3 and she seems to be working!

Tests in DAZ Studio suggest that Iray renders produce horrible results for Victoria 4.2 and Michael 4. Both have the colour of frozen lemons using the hi-res shaders that produced excellent skin tones in Poser. Am I correct in assuming that an Iray converter will be necessary to produce acceptable results? In fact, the same question applies to clothing intended for Daz Generation 4 figures. Thank you.

This is victoria 8 n the foreground. The chair in the background towering over her is part of Dresden Circle. I have to scale the set down to 3% and then zero all the parameters to get where it belongs.

The second pic is after correcting. I am wondering if there is a way to make it start the right size.

Hi! So, I've spent some good 12 hours (6 before sleeping, 6 after) trying to figure out on my own how to make glowing tattoos. I'm working on a fantasy visual novel where one of the characters has a tattoo that reacts to his power activation, shining in bright gold. I've tried using decals, with no luck. Geometry shells? Can't edit surface, for some reason. So I was snooping around on the internet and found this:

And it's EXACTLY what I needed! A tattoo that emits light! Is there a way I can replicate this effect on another tattoo? I'm relatively new to Daz3d, been using it for 4 or 5 months, and learning how to do that would certainly take my skills to the next level.

I appreciate anyone willing to help me. I've been getting kinda crazy trying to do this on my own, haha.

For G3/G8F and upwards D-force or not. There is some good underwear/lingerie products for sale out there but it seems to be darn near impossible to find a simple bra which is able to undo from the back and can open outwards from the back also so the whole thing looks longer and spread out (see pic as example) maybe I'm just not looking around good enough is there such a G3/G8 underwear product that has this? pls let me know.

If you check the files coming with Hongyu's Dream Lace 3 there are morphs called LeftBackOpen.dsf and LeftFall.dsf and the same for the right side.. and tons of other morphs for adjusting and showing off...

Hongyu's Maiden 5 Lingerie offers three different "open morphs" each for the back sides...

This is the Maiden 5 Bra autofitted on a base G8F figure without any further adjustment... So I guess (!) the Dream Lace will also work nicely (don't have it yet, but it's wishlisted)

It has been a source of wholly unnecessary and Mad-Hatter's-Tea-Party gibbering confusion that some people (who I think should know better) indescriminately refer to zip archives containing content files for Daz Studio as "content." This has been stretched to the reductio ad absurdum of products in the store even claiming to manage "content" (even with the word in their names) when the only thing they actually can work with is a zip file.

You cannot dress Victoria 8 with a zip file. You have to have actual content installed to dress her, even in a gorilla costume. Don't believe me? I'll wait. Go ahead and try. I'll just sit here and do my nails. Or, if you prefer, try to put a zip file where you want a castle in a scene. What? Don't want to try? I don't blame you, because you certainly would look goofy trying to USE a ZIP FILE as though it were CONTENT.

And just as a tin can can contain soup, sardines, chocolate syrup, or pears, a ZIP FILE can contain anything from a Photoshop plugin to War and Peace, and NEITHER of those is DAZ CONTENT!

This nomenclature anarchy isn't limited to that semantic madness in the Daz universe, though. For instance, there are promo pages right this minute in the store for products that are for use in Daz Studio, but have gee-whiz language of: "Put some [any hyperbolic word here] in your Runtime!" You probably think you read that wrong. No. That's what it says—some antiquated holdover from Poser, I guess. Of course, if you're new or uninformed enough to install that package inside the actual folder named " Runtime " inside your Daz Studio content folder (whatever you've named it), oh, are you ever going to be in for some surprises! (Not like Santa or the Easter Bunny bring.)

And just to keep you spinning like a draedle, some people (who I think should know better) also indiscriminately toss around the world "library," as in "content library," to refer to the main CONTENT FOLDER for DS (whatever you've named it)—never bothering to mention or clear up that inside the actual " Runtime " folder that is inside your Daz Studio content folder (whatever you've named it), there is another folder called—wait for it; did you guess? Well, yes, it's named " Libraries ". And if you aren't confused enough at that point, some PAs actually put their own folders inside some of the absolutely essential folders inside your Daz Studio content folder (whatever you've named it), and down in some level of their own folders they will put a folder called—wait for it; did you guess? Okay, you got me; yes, " Library ".

But the main lesson, I guess, is don't try to eat tin cans, don't try to brush your teeth with a toothpaste tube, and if you value the sanity of DS users, for the love of Jehozophat, stop referring to ZIP FILES as "content." PSA: They never have been, aren't now, and never will be.
