When a geograft is "fit to" a figure, the underlying figure polygons are not active. You can probably just unfit the Golden Palace from the figure (fit to none), and hide Golden Palace in the scene when exporting, rather than deleting it completely. But deleting it is a sure way to overcome this problem. Congratulations on resolving the problem!
It looks like you are still not completely in compliance with the forum rules on nudity. Please read the sticky thread on Acceptable Ways of Handling Nudity.
Thanks! Can you explain how to "unfit" Golden Palace?
Yes, geo-grafts are the culprits but you don't have to unfit GP and other grafts if there's any. A trick : press Alt Shift + G (Geometry Editor) before exporting to OBJ. With Geometry Editor activated, all geo-grafts turn into floating geometry that won't be merged with exported OBJ.
Then remember to Alt Shift + U or T... after export, so as to be back to Universal or Translation tool...

Either select it and then use the Fit to button in the parameters pane (under the Constraints group) or right-click on it in the Viewport and select Fit "Item name" To. In the dialogue that opens select None.
Looking for a specific type of jacketI had my D|S with the fullest library of clothing (non-Gen 4) open and decided to try a search of outerwear/tops.
The closest one to a bomber jacket was https://www.daz3d.com/ma-1-flight-jacket-for-genesis-3-female-s but as you can see from the promos it has pocket flaps on the torso sides for the hands and pockets on the upper sleeves. It does have the classic elastic waist band on the bottom and while it has textures, it would need a suede shader and to be brought up to Gen 8 or auto-follow might work with it. There are three versions of it too, open, closed, and liner only. As someone who issued these in the U.S. Air Force, I can tell you it is accurate.
Another which is next close was https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-hnc-leather-jacket-outfit-for-genesis-8-males but does not have patch side pockets, but slits for inserting the hands. This does not have the stretchy look at the bottom though, and would need a suede shader. Since it is for G8M, auto-follow should work.
One other jacket https://www.daz3d.com/traveler-for-genesis-3-males which is also DAZ+ meets the shape, but has a set of upper pockets and slanted lower pockets. But it has/had two material packs, https://www.daz3d.com/aimlessly which seems to have a dark brown suede look for the jacket. The other texture set is no longer in the store, One Way Ticket, but the textures for the jacket are not brown. Maybe at Moyra's store at Rendo it is there? Again, it is a G3M jacket and maybe auto-follow would work for a G8F? Even if it doesn't, this is a nice set for hiking for the guys. I have used it on G8M.

How do you uninstall Heat?
Thank you
you can disable the plugin from the Plug-Ins pane. then uninstall the plug-in via DIM (the DAZ install manager), if you use DIM for your installations. just open DIM, switch to the INSTALLED products tab, type Heat in the search field, highlight the plugin, and from the ...option select 'uninstall'. it will turn back up in DIM's products-to-download menu, but you can hide the download there so it doesn't haunt you forever after. it may also appear in DIM's downloaded tab if you don't have DIM set to delete product zips after installation.
good luck! i uninstalled it, myself...i had too much crashiness after the installation.

Is there a 'simple' way to lighten/darken skin?I use the translucency channel and set the color to a very pale color and the % to a percentage closer to zero. Search in the forum for MelissaGT's (or GTX???) posts as she does a great job of adjusting shader seatings on skin to make skin look more natural and less HDR.
If you have too much bright light and you are doing a portrait closeup you'll make them look less realistic. Also, proper blurring as typical for protraits is important. Those that do those realistic portraits in the galley use diffuse lighting combined with blur and typically include most of the torso rather than zooming in too close to the face.
Transfer Utility problemRichard: The forum finally let me upload some picts. So I uploaded the before and after images of when I used the Transfer Utility. That is what I mean by ballooning up
Lilweep, yes I tried to tick the Reverse source shape option that Richard suggested. Problem is - it won’t let me check it. I have uploaded the Transfer Utility settings window to show you what settings I do have checked.
Do either of you have any other ideas? If not, thanks for trying to help.
How to use DAZ Studio to create 3D-print physical miniatures?hmmm... I feel like the time that I have to get this accomplished is slipping away. I had this idea for a presentation piece several days ago and started inquiring on several figure painting sites. I was hoping for a reply something like, "If that's the sort of an end product you want to wind up with, take a look at the following six commercial product suggestions for ready-to-build figure kits that you can modify." It didn't happen, and I'm no closer to knowing where to look for a pre-designed figure that'll suit my needs. Then someone suggested it could be 3D printed and asked me to PM him to talk about it. Except, he spent a whole day with very few and very vague one-line replies - mostly "yes/no" answers to "not yes/no" questions. So I came to the Daz forum.
Here's what I'm hoping to learn, because God bless you for answering at all, Wendy, but when you say, "It depends what and who you use" I'm kind of stressing out. I know Daz Studio and only Daz Studio. I already know it doesn't do .stl but since the store sells 3D printing licenses for every product, somebody uses Daz figures and products somehow for 3D printing of figures. I'm trying to figure out how. So maybe I'll re-frame the question. I'm hoping someone can fill in the blanks:
"You can use Daz Studio to create and pose your figure, but then you have to download and learn how to use [Please Somebody Suggest a Preferably-Free Preferably-Easy-To-Learn Application Name] so you can import it and turn it into an .stl, and then go to [Please Somebody Suggest A Way To Find a Vendor] to arrange to have it printed and shipped to you next week so you can prep it, modify, it, paint it, mount it and present it at the end of May."
I've been extended a once-in-a-lifetime invitation requiring a once-in-a-lifetime show of appreciation, but time is not my friend. God bless every forum user for all the help I've seen you provide hundreds of people over the years. I hope this is coming off as more of a desperate plea than a rude reply. If I failed then I owe a huge aplogy but I'd like to get this production process started today. Thank you everybody
Unknown argument "-hexbridge" passed to application.I can send items from Daz Studio to Hexagon, but I cannot send items back to Daz Studio from Hexagon.
Nothing happens. Daz Studio's logfile prints the following information when trying:
[INFO] :: Unknown argument "-hexbridge" passed to application.
I have no other information to work with but that sounds to me like the bridge isn't setup... buuut.. lol why can I send items to hexagon if it's not setup? I checked for an external companion file for the bridge to download in DIM, there was none that I could find. I did what was recommended to do here on the forum, which was to point Daz Studio to hexagon.exe in Preferences, and in Hexagon, point it to Daz Studio's executable.
The same behavior occurs in Public Beta and release channels of Daz Studio (current version 4.22.1.99 and 4.22.0.16 respectively). When testing each one I did remember to make sure Hexagon was pointing at the correct executable for Daz Studio.
Using the public beta 64bit Hexagon 2.5.2.137 - nVidia Studio Drivers 551.23 - Windows 10
Having the exact same issue on another system. What am I missing for the bridge to work correctly?
Does Hexagon even have a log file.. which would presumably give me more information to work with? I can't find one in its directory, and the manual for Hexagon doesn't mention a logfile at all.
Contacting an artist??FenixPhoenix said:
If they are active in the forums, you can try sending them a PM. However, not all PAs participate in the forum. So, in that case, the best (and official) way to contact them is to send a ticket to DAZ with the question you want to ask the PA and they can contact the PA for you (as that's part of the agreement DAZ has with the PAs).
Hi FenixPhoenix,
I just PM ed you :)
Thanks for your comment.
Comic - "Charlotte's Magic Life"SapphireBlue said:
Okay I'm now really curious how this interview is going to go!
And also curious how many chapters there will be in this Charlotte's Magic Life title before I can relax knowing Charlotte and Kurt are going to be okay...
I don't do well with suspense...
David, maybe consider putting the topwebcomics link in your signature or also in your 'about' box on your site, at the end of each chapter on your site. It'd be easier then to drop a vote whenever we're reading a chapter. This week, I went to vote a couple of times from searching for the link on Discord, which can be tricky... Lol.
The best way to get to it in topwebcomics is to go to "New to the List" in the menu bar, then click on the "Real Life" icon. You can also scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and enter "Charlotte" in the "comic search box.
But I did add a "Vote for Us!" link to the menu that takes you right to the voting gateway, and I'm going to add a similar link to the end of the chapters because that's a good idea!

Thanks for voting, Blue!

Richard, in comparison the bi weekly freebies are for only 2 weeks, where as this is 6 months, you don't have to pay any money to take advantage of this offer. You're also not taking into consideration that when people want freebies, they go to the freebies forum, not here, My thread has basically just been buried.

As long as it is active, it won't be buried.

interesting
I tried anther approach with Shapelight and IES profile. That seems to do the area shadows but with another problem
the IES light doesn't show up correctly in reflections
I will try to fake a shape of, say a neon tube and apply the IES profile
with Shapelight there seems to be only Ring and square (?) or maybe there is a setting hidden that I haven't found yet

I think having this filter is a great addition ( https://www.daz3d.com/customer/account/edit/ ). Later they can add some granularity as to what is filtered. I would recommend a better (stylish) image for blocked images.
A 3D IRAY rendered icon and text in the style of the ESRB ( https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?search=ESRB&title=Special:MediaSearch&go=Go&type=image ) should not be a giant challenge for an artist working at DAZ. Please atleast make some effort to prettify your Mature Content Image.
thank you for helping me find where this box is so can allow mature content
How to use DAZ Studio to create 3D-print physical miniatures?Hi, everyone :) Well, it's happened again. I've gone almost a full year hardly touching Daz Studio. I've forgotten so much, and now I'm wondering if it can be used in a way I never contemplated, to challenge my first hobby: physical painting of scale miniatures... which I also haven't done in about 15 years. Both hobbies have passed me by but I have a compelling reason to paint again, and I'd like to use Daz Studio if it's even possible. When I search the forums for topics like 3D printing, I can't find anything relevant among hundred of hits. I'd welcome a link to where they're discussing this; I can't be the only one wanting to print 3D models.
What I'm trying to do is pose two historical figures for the upcoming 80th anniversary of D-Day: one Army lieutenant and one Navy ensign. They won't be for sale; they'll be gifts but it's conceivable I might paint them 2-3 times for different people. So I have a few ultra-noob questions:
1) I think I saw a 3D printer once, a long time ago, just sitting there dormant on someone's desk. I'm not what you'd call an experienced user! But I guess the models have to be .stl format before they can be read and printed by the machines, yes? Or can they be .obj files? And the real question is, can Daz Studio export a scene subset in printer-ready format? (I'll have figures only with clothes and props.) I'd print them separately and create the scene around them.
2) I've never tried the face-tansfer products. What's the preferred tool for that these days?
3) What are the legal issues involved? I foresee two of interest here.- I noticed a long time ago the Shop offers option for 3D Printing licensing, but the relevant section of the EULA I just read today makes no sense on its face. I think I'm seeing that it's ok to print whatever I buy as long as it's for personal use, which this is. So why do I need to buy a 3D Print license Add-on?
- I suppose Tom Hanks & friends get bent out of shape when their likenesses are used without permission. But what about actual people? It must be alright to create a likeness of George Washington or George Patton, yes? What if I wanted to produce a physical 3D portrait of two WWII veterans no longer living, using available photos? Does the source of the photo become a legal complication? Are there legal pitfalls I'm not considering?
4) How does one optimize an output model like this so that the parts can be painted separately and assiembled like a commercial model kit?
5) Maybe this is better suited to the ones with their hands on the printing machines, but I'm wondering if I need to set up the model so it gets printed at a specified scale?
There might be more later but those are the big ones now. I'll be curious to learn about it. Thank you kindly -

Earlier Versions of Daz Studio - can we get them?Faeryl Womyn said:
Richard....I had to download to a previous version because of computer problems and you told me how to do it through DIM, I just can't remember how. All I remember is I had to open a different tab, had to check something and type in a search.
I think it works under the same principle that if you bought it it's in DIM, in this case if you registered it it's also in DIM. I downloaded all my previous versions at that time, starting with 2.0 both 32 bit and 64 versions that were available. Apparently I didn't register all the versions I had over time, which annoyed me.
This was about 2 years ago.
I ended up checking out the manifest files and found a dsx file for 4.21 public build. Is that what you did? I'd love to find out, because I'm gonna need the last stable version if I wanna upgrade soon. I'd also love to go back to 4.16 or install that version alongside the beta 4.21 I have and the 4.22 public I stupidly upgraded to.

puppy dog for daz?Hi anyone has any idea where to buy a puppy dog for daz? I looked in the forum/store and apparently there was a "Millenium Dog/Puppy" but only the LE version is available now for sale, all other packs are nowhere to be found + seems very old but still if I literally have no other choise I'd take it, but I also searched some other stores and there's no way to buy it...
I'm looking for a puppy that isn't benji basically: a puppy that can be a wolf, a german shepherd, a husky - not a labrador. Is there anything of sort on the internte left? :( Thank you!!!
