  • [Released] Character Converter from Genesis 2 Female to Genesis 8 Female [Commercial]

    Hi,

I am having an issue opening the script for Character Converter G2F to G8F. Attached is the error from the log file. I just opened and ran Converter G3F to G8F with no issues. I restarted Daz Studio but the G2F to G8F script won't open. I also tried uninstalling  and reinstalling it.

    Thanks.

I believe you have Content Wizard installed.  There is an issue that Content Wizard has an out-of-date file (I think RS2020HelperFunctions.dse).  If you uninstall that product, I believe this product will work.  Please let me know if that is true.

I got the script strated now. I'm not sure what exactly worked though. I tried removing RS2020HelperFunctions.dse but received the same errors in the log file. Then I tried uninstalling, close Daz, re-installing using Daz Install Manager instead of Daz Central. Restarted DazStudio and the script open with no issues. I'm wondering if Daz Central could have some bugs when installing certain content.

Thanks for your help and quick response.

  • What happened to my Install Manager links? Daz Central only.

I bought a new computer so I could use DForce.  I thought I would try DazCentral on that computer. I appreciate the links to the tutorials and the Plug ins. Instead of being able to Download and Install an entire order, I notice my recent purchases are listed.  However unlike the Install Manager I would have to download and install them individually.  I installed one and clicked on open.  Daz Studio opened up, but the character I wanted to load didn't load.  So... I uninstalled DazCentral but I noticed that I must have it installed in order to download the entire order. And on the older computer that I don't think Daz Central will work well on it, I notice it also won't install the entire order without DazCentral.

As for loading the Install Manager and putting the recent items up first.  I have a lot of old Poser items that are listed. So I have to click each item I want individually.

If it seems like I dislike DazCentral, it's because I do.

  • Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 13

Well, the GFS and European are both hinting at a Gulf of Mexico development for the West Gulf Coast states but it's of course varying by runs. This would be for this next week or the following week. That gyre is similar to the one which spun Category 5 Michael, simply meaning storms break off from the gyre. (Not that the one possibly breaking off will be a Cat 5.) Half the other models agree and have the tropical system varying landfall along the Gulf Coast. So folks in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida will possibly see a storm/hurricane within the next two weeks.  I always check wunderground's Cat6 blog, it's Jeff Masters. Levi does tropical tidbits (.com) but only posts when there's an active storm. He is the BEST in depth coverage once that happens IMO. That link is to the article.

  • What happened to my Install Manager links? Daz Central only.

There's a problem with the Daz site links after the release of the new installer.

If you download the Mac version of the new install, it works if you install ONE at a time, but if you click the install all button to download all your purchases, it takes you do the download site for the new version rather than actually installing. This happens with both the Daz Central link and the Mac Installer link.

I already have the new version. I don't have to install it again.

Because the link is broken (in an endless circle), I had to download about 50 assets one at a time and I'm not finished yet. It's very time-consuming.

  • Daz Install Manager (DIM) 1.4.0.94, Now Available! (*UPDATED*)

The message said that the log in details were invalid.

I tried changing my password but when I put in the currant password it was invalid

I tried resetting my password using I've forgotton my password but the links all (I tried about 6 times) timed out within minutes and some toof a couple of hours to come through.

I can now log into DIM but have no idea what my password is.

I'm really sick of this and it seems a bit coincidental that the problems stated when the Central thing was released.

  • What happened to my Install Manager links? Daz Central only.

Now when I purchase a product there's not link to install with Install Manager. There's only Daz Central, which I don't want or need (seems like a waste of big waste development time, to be honest).

    Am I missing something?

I noticed that yesterday, too. Kind of irritating. Clicking that link after checkout was quick and convenient. I have no interest in DAZ Central and will continue to use DIM. I also agree that they shouldn't remove an existing feature just to promote a new one. They should add the link to download and install with DIM back, along side the DAZ Central link.

Maybe I have not looked in the right places (but then again those places should have been more clearly indicated) to see a bullet comparison of what each of the installers (DIM, daz central) do compared to each other. If there isn't such a comparison (which I suspect) then it may be a good idea to make one IF central is SO much better.

or even if you are simply trying to persuade existing DIM users to change installers

  • Updated Modern Body armor

Did you notice the Mercenary outfit for G8? It's not 100% perfect.... but it does the job pretty well as much as I am concerned.

I do some kit bashing when I need a bulletproof vest: I use  the vest from "Renegade Soldier Outfit for Genesis 8 Male", in which I "integrate" a central breast plate that covers the oversized zipper. However, the wanted effect is not law enforcement but the British forces protective vest "KESTREL" used in Iraq / Afghanistan with its fairly recognizable collar. The sleeves and other details are wrong but the camo pattern (DPM) covers the worst up. I have to live with that ... until you 3d artists bring better models to the market place! To all artists who work on such projects: PLEASE look at many, many photos instead of creating fantasy products! also look at pictures of how to put on or adjust the body armor .... because a few "morphs" and poses to put on or take off the armor would be a dream product for every buyer!

  • What happened to my Install Manager links? Daz Central only.

Have you had DAZ Central installed?  I don't, and I do have DIM links in the library.

I do not. Specifically I'm talking about the "Check Out" page.

Before it was easy to click on the link. DIM opened automatically and filtered out everything but my most recent purchase.

You can still start DIM, and poof, there are your downloads. (I hope... I haven't downloaded my recent purchases in a few days.)

I understand, but clicking on the link used to automatically filter them out in DIM. That was very helpful as I don't download everything I buy right away.

If people like the new Daz Central for whatever reason, great - but add a third option, don't take away another.

Just set DIM Sort Order to "Order Date: Recent First" on the Ready to Download tab, then all items from the latest order will be on top of the list.

You can set the sort order to Order Date, which will put the new items at the top of the list (it's per tab, so you can use a different order in Ready to Install and/or Installed)..

  • Beta for DazCentral, your new Content Manager

My experience is similar to twitch99 above.  I saw a new shiny thing on the DAZ store so I downloaded it without much thought.

Daz Central does not recognize that I have Studio or any content installed, it trashed DIM and blew up smart content in Studio.

After wasting a couple of hours Studio is working again, I can install stuff through DIM but it does not recognise that I have anything installed now, and Central will not recognise that I have anything installed no matter what I set the paths to.  I have read this thread and tried what is suggested.

So the manifests (the .dsx files from installing, not those that sit in the folder with the zips) are still there and you have retold DIM which folder they are in as the Manifests Archive? Have you reset the Content Cluster location in DS, assuming that it was non-default and that Daz Central set it back to the default?

I am one of those awkward people who does not keep my content on my C Drive, it is a relatively small SSD just for OS and key applications.

If I could persuade either that I have Daz installed, I could uninstall the lot and start again.  My Daz Studio installation folder is:

    C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4

Where should I point Daz Central?  Setting the path to that location in settings did not work.

Point it for what? That's the default path for Daz Studio itself.

Once I have it recognising that the application is installed I will work on content.

For some reason Daz is promoting Daz Central as the main download option - why I do not know.

DIM is serving my needs, and I have no plans to change that.

  • Report sales errors here: "There's Always Another Sale™"

The completed sales page is missing the link to download via DIM now.

I thought the central whatever one was for "new users", and not a replacement?

If you don't offer the original as an option it's basically replacing it, and means having to manually go open DIM every time. cheeky

If there was a DIM link it would, I suppose, potentially confuse new users. I always open DIM manually anyway, aside from anything else it enables me to spot any product updates.

On the other hand, if they don't give DIM as an alternative how would anyone who was no longer a new user get to know about DIM or advance to using it?

Making it more troublesome to purchase goods if you use DIM doesn't seem to have any obvious benefit to me or anyone else who has no use for central.

They could at least provide text underneath saying "Or download via DIM" with the old link as a compromise between these new brand of confused by everything users and everyone else. laugh

You could post that to the Daz Central Beta thread, which did have Daz_People reading it, or send it in a support ticket.

Ill post to the thread, support tickets worry me somehow. laugh

  • Beta for DazCentral, your new Content Manager

    One request!

Instead of completely removing the option to download via DIM from completed sales pages, can we have that as an alternative option?

Something along the lines of some "Or download via DIM" text under the button would be fine.

Right now we have to manually open DIM to download via it, which is slightly irksome!

As Central is intended for new users it makes sense to retain the usability for "advanced" users too.. laugh
