Its look like transparency map problem, I remove all eye opacity map, and still like that. I tried, iris corrections, pupil bulge, etc, but nothhin fix it. changing pupil into slit in parameter, but only the shape change into slit, but not the black dot/iris still rounded, And i tried to create new character, in case my morphed character cause the problem, And now..... its normal again :D maybe its just morph problem, So, how to know which morphs is who cause the problem?

  • Genesis 9 delayed until at least 2020. Will you be buying it?

As an animator I consider the Daz genesis platform to have Peaked with Genesis 2.

In light of Wendy's brilliant Discovery  regarding
retargeting  G1 motion data to G3, with no external software,
I am glad that  I  did get a few Characters for G3
    (Ivan &fat George HD)

I remain on Daz studio 4.8 because ,at this point ,Daz studio is merely a brief stop in my pipeline
for wardrobe/morph changes and import of Motion Data from Iclone pro before sending my Characters to Lightwave or C4D for final rendering.

G8 was Dead on Arrival for me
    I imagine G9 will be also.indecision

Additionally if the new Iclone Character creator 3 figures are as Good as they Look in the Iclone 2018 Roadmap
I may be replacing Daz studio at least partially as a Character resource for final renders in the near future .

...I still have not made the jump to G8 because the changes did not warrant the reinvestment in all new morphs and merchant resources.

Again, agreed. However, G8 has seen something of a new direction with some really interesting (non-glamorous) characters. I wish there was an easy way to transfer those characters to G3 but I don't think there is. So I have bought Edie and Abel but had to resist Mabel.

[EDIT] Of course, I should have remembered that Abel is for G3M, not G8.

..true but I cannot justify dumping 52$ into the body/head morphs as well as additional finds for morph/shaping merchant resources for both genders to support those few characters on my income. Were G8 a radical improvement over G3 it might be different

I know what you mean. Since I've switched over to Daz, I've only bought every other generation (Genesis, and now Genesis 3). I mean clothes can be autofitted between generations, but I can't afford to buy morphs, texture packs and anatomical elements for every generation, so I skipped G2 and G8. But of course some of the new models like Floyd, Mabel and Felton are making me rethink my strategy. Just when I have a system worked out, Daz throws in a monkey wrench. Oh well.

  • AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO? PARTE UNDICI

  • [Solved] UV Maps changing during import/export

I have no expirience with the send to Hexagon plugin/brige so I can't tell you if this is a common issue.

As an alternative you could save an OBJ file with the morph you made with Hexagon and use the MorphLoaderPro to load it into DazStudio onto your hair. One advantage is the altered UV map and the surface name from Hexagon dosn't get read in by this just the pure shape (vertex position). Another advantage are the various extended options you have in the import process like the reverse deformation and things.

I also bought those exatraordinary characters for G8, but otherwise, haven't made the jump to G8, i.e. not clothing wise. Again, I make exceptions for extraordinary stuff. But as things are, I have even cut down on buying PC+ items for G8. My workhorses are G2&G3 at the moment.

So, G9... I'll probably do the same as with G8, unless there's some blow away things, I'll just sit it out. I'm thinking about investing that money into Marvelous Designer instead, and finally start to put all those tutorials into practice.

    man I hope not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sad

Given the 2 year cycle we have been experiencing since the release of Genesis, would not be surprised at all to see Genesis 9 next year.. :(  And well I have only just started getting into Genesis 3 because of https://www.daz3d.com/fantasy-creature-creator-hd-morph-pack-for-genesis-3-female-19.. And the only reason I have not gone full tilt into Genesis 8 is very much due to there being no https://www.daz3d.com/fantasy-creature-creator-hd-morph-pack-for-genesis-3-female-19 for Genesis 8..

So if Genesis 9 does come out next year it will be a case of wait and see what they do..

  • How to avoid missing files while creating content

My process to create a new clothing item is:

    1. Model the item and export as .OBJ
    2. Export Textures as .PNG
    3. Import .OBJ into daz
    4. Add the texture and transfer utility
    5. Save as Figure/Prop assets

I assumed when I save an item, the program simply convert and saves the model, textures and other files into the library but it seems that's not the case and as soon as I remove the files I loaded, I get a missing file.am I missing something? should I add those files to some folder before loading? or after saving?
where can I get a detailed explanation about the right way to create content for daz, the pitfalls and the good practices?

Probably so based on the last 6 years. Assuming there is not a massive technology jump just save bit for clothes transfer and pose transfer utilities.

You will see artists using V4/M4 stuff in current renders with G8F/G8M. We are all in the same boat as the saying goes, so the utilities come... just never as fast as we want!

Have you tried it without posing the feet?  I've had decent luck transfering shoes, including heels, by not posing the feet until after I do the rigging transfer.

Was there a foot pose included with the shoes? Try applying that to the figure before you go thru the transfer process.

Unfortunately, shoes are always a crapshoot. Some work, some don't.

There was one for genesis 8. I got the bending vaulues from it and applied it manually to the genesis 3 figure.

  • DSON Python Errors

    Hi all,

I am constantly getting errors when using Genesis in Poser Pro 11. I have the latest DSON installed. I have tried install/uninstall with no luck. This happens with Genesis 1 and 2. Same errors for both. In DS, I get an error that says duplicate formulas, again I've done uninstall/install and have the current versions.

Genesis loads solid colored, with no textures.

When trying to transfer active morphs:

    Traceback (most recent call last):
      File "C:\Program Files\Smith Micro\Poser 11\Runtime\Python\poserScripts\ScriptsMenu\DSON Support\Transfer Active Morphs.py", line 2, in <module>
        dson.dzdsonimporter.generateConformingMorphs()
UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf8' codec can't decode byte 0xeb in position 4: unexpected end of data

    On load:

UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf8' codec can't decode byte 0xeb in position 4: unexpected end of data
    Traceback (most recent call last):
      File "D:\User\Owner\Documents\Poser Storage 2017\Runtime\libraries\Character\Figures\Daz\People\Genesis.py", line 2, in <module>
        dson.dzdsonimporter.loadCompanionDSONFile( sys.argv[0] );
SystemError: NULL result without error in PyObject_Call

In DS, this is Genesis 2 Female, though it happens with male too. Attached the txt file since it's really long. Scratch that, it won't upload my tetx file, so here's a line, basically the same error all the way anyway.

  • Help needed: Getting genesis 8 female high heeled shoes to work with genesis 3

    Hello,

I am trying to get a pair of genesis 8 high-heeled shoes to work with genesis 3 (because I don't want to upgrade to genesis 8 yet, I invested a lot of money in genesis 3 and as long as I can get the new genesis 8 clothes to work on genesis 3 I see no reason for it). With clothes in general I have no problem (I have the Genesis 8 Clones for Genesis 3 from SY). But I can't get the shoes to work. I read and followed the tutorial from SY (https://www.deviantart.com/sickleyield/journal/Tutorial-Convert-Clothing-G3-to-G8-G8-to-G3-686682065). Alas the results are in no way satisfying.

In the following I will describe my work-process. Maybe I did something wrong? Or perhaps someone knows another way getting high-heeled shoes to work? I am grateful for every hint.

    1. First I change the pose of my genesis 3 character into the general genesis 8 female pose (shoulders and legs). Then I change the pose of the feet (I am getting the values from the  provided genesis 8 feet pose).(See attached image 1).

    2. Then I load the genesis 8 shoes into the scene without having the genesis 3 figure selected (see attached image 2).

    3. Now I select the shoes in the scene tab and click on edit --- scene identification, I click on the "..." to the right of "Preferred Base and select genesis 3 female and accept (see attached image 3).

    4. Now I select genesis 3 female in the scene tab and then the shoes with shift pressed. I click on edit again and Choose Edit--Rigging--Transfer Rigging (Figure Space). (see attached picture 4).

And it happens exactly nothing. The shoes still don't fit. (See picture 5).

The used shoes are https://www.daz3d.com/rb-strap-sandal-for-genesis-8-females. These are the only genesis 8 high-heeled shoes I have but I think the results wouldn't be different with other high-heeled shoes.

As mentioned before I am grateful for every hint/help.

    Thanks

  • MimicMolly's Renders & WIPs

Here is the mix of all four anime boys' head with Ollie's body at 100%. He is using Potono's skin with Altern8, PHX Jesse's Adam's Apple morph, and Lucas 8's HD.

He is wearing G3M's basic wear briefs and Pure Hair: Space.for Genesis. I had tested what this morph looks like without Ollie 8. Basically, a very cute little boy face. Ollie 8 makes him look more like a teen/young adult. Though I'm sure this is just Ollie himself back when he was a kid. XD

  • SereneNight's Sci-fi Fun

Okay, so on the topic of women's clothing that may work on the men, here is: https://www.daz3d.com/jogging-bodysuit-for-genesis-8-female-s

I actually think this is rather sexy! And, it goes on nicely over the anatomical elements with smoothing turned on!  And, the bonus? There is a morph so you can breast feed without removing the outfit as both sides of the top come down. That is what its for right? wink

I discovered if you unlock parameters on the breast option for the unitard, you can dial it negative and pull it back so it looks more halter-like.

This was a good deal for 6 bucks in todays sale.

Not bad. I've had pretty good luck, too, with using Lilflame's stuff on the boys.
