What I would like in the G8 Supersuit
Will be a Supersuit for genesis 8 male(s) and female(s)?
Well, unless it comes out soon...probably not. I believe there is a rumor of a new Genesis 9 figure this June. I hope not, but that is what I have heard. I would rather have an updated interface.
The source of the rumor is simply that there were 2 years between release of the previous Genesis figures. There's no guarantee Daz will keep this schedule for the next figure though.
Like I said, I hope not. I hope it is an improved interface.
Or maybe a cat figure. :)
What needs "improved" on the interface? It's plenty customizable now.I would like, for instance, more buttons on each Morph dial and a drop down box on each one as well. Four total new buttons: One to make the morph go all the way to it's lowest setting, one to zero it, and one to take it to it's max setting and one to half the value of the setting as it is at the moment.
For the dropdown, a place where you can store a description and tags so that all nose morphs come up at once when searched for and not just certain ones from a certain set here and certain ones from another there, etc, as well as a link that takes you to the product it was purchased in in Daz Studio under the Products menu and the name of the author.
That's just off thge cuff. I would also like to have morphs be easier to create and a morph brush as well. :)How to stick out tongue G8FI've got all kinds of tongue morph tools, but can't figure out the basic step to stick out the character's tongue?
How to make a JCM that fires only when the specific morph is set to 100I succeeded in adapting the modified JCM. Shih, when I set the BackShape morph to 0, this time the original JCM was 0 and I couldn't say anything and broke. I think that this meaning is lost if the original JCM does not move when backshape is 0. In this case, I think that it is faster to simulate using Dforce, I'm also thinking of giving up this fix morph.
Converting shoes from G8 to G3 keeping morphs?I bought Rare n Nirv Shoes Collection 2 for Genesis 8 Female(s) knowing full well that I intended to use it for G3. As I expected, the autofit clone worked, but had some issues, so I decided to try to do it my self.
I loaded the shoes on G8F then moved the legs into the default G3 position. Then I converted the shoes to a prop and used the transfer utility to fit them to G3F. It worked almost perfectly, just a little deformation when moving the toes, but that can probably be straightened out by adjusting the weight map. The only problem is that they don't have any of the original morphs the G8 shoes had. Is there any way to transfer those morphs to the G3 version? Or should I just leave well enough alone?
Or am I approaching this totally wrong and there's a better way to do it?
How to make a JCM that fires only when the specific morph is set to 100Sorry, I thought you'd said you were using ZBrush. The method is much the same, except you export as OBJ instead of sending to ZBrush and import the modified OBJ thought Morph Loader Pro - name the file for import to name the morph. Setting up the linkages correctly will remove the need for manual control.
wait a minute.
I wanted to see the position of the lingage collective from the beginning.
So where do you set which morphs and controls?
Daz Studio 4.11 problem with removing limitsAre you saying it works inb 4.10.0.123? I would expect not, and that the issue is because it isn't the morph's limits you are editing or ignoring but those on a controller property - the actual morphs it is driving still have their limits set, and so stop when the controlle reaches that point even as it goes on climbing. You can check this by clicking the gear icon on the slider and openign Parameter Settings, as you ddi to adjust the limits, and then seeing what (if anything) is listed in the Sub-Components tab.
Daz Studio 4.11 problem with removing limitsTo start, I don't know if it matters, but I started out with a purchased morph.
So I want to move the eyes higher in the face than the limit. I have tried opening the gear and turning limits off. I have also tried leaving limits on and raising the max. I have also right clicked on the parameter and chose to turn the limits off. I have also put to unhide that way as I read on another part of a forum.
The problem is, although the slider will go up, after 1 it does nothing. I have tried looking on this forum, but either it's because this is a higher public build, or because I'm not understanding, something is wrong.
also as a side note, does it matter whether you are in the parameter tab or shaping tab? I've tried it both.
ETA: This is with Genesis 2
2nd of nine lives Cat Girrrl render thread prrrI think you did very well with her, Molly!
As for Melody 2, that product turned out to be something of a missed opportunity. I appreciated the concept, an anthropomorphic funny animal head that could be applied to almost any figure. But the product kinda' got abandoned. True, several texture sets were offered, but twas it and all of them were bold, cartoonish patterns, nothing remotely quasi-realistic like the "Fisher Cat" set. But beyond that, nothing. The original Melody (and Micah) got the 'Furries for..." morph add-ons, allowing one to create a condsiderable variety of mammal types, felines, canines, rodents, cervids, mustelids, etc. Within the forums of Runtime DNA, Lady LittleFox had stated those "were coming" for Melody 2. She also presented "works in progress" for add-ons like fluffy "pectotal ruffs" that would conform to V4's chest and used transparency mapping to create the effect.
But during those discussions LittleFox released "Star" (the stand-alone version) and when that product proved super popular, Melody 2 got pushed to the side and was forgotten. But I can understand the circumstances. As a merchant, she was smart to "follow the money". Since "Star" proved a hot seller, it would make sense focus upon it and create content for it instead.
Melody 2 had potential, but it "got lost in the shuffle".
Sincerely,
Bill
How to make a JCM that fires only when the specific morph is set to 100how would you make that morph slider show whether the user has hip selected, or pelvis selected?
ty
so if an animation is saved using genesis it works on Genesis 3So I got it figured out. Here's how you get Mixamo animations work with Genesis 8.
1) Download the desired animation as FBX from mixamo (I used Aiko 6 as fbx avatar)
2) Open up Daz3D
3) Import the FBX from mixamo
4) load up Genesis 1 figure
5) select the fbx imported avatar and create aniblock from imported fbx animation.
6) Copy it to genesis 1
7) delete the fbx import
8) Bake genesis 1 aniblock to timeline
9) Save as Pose Preset (make sure to chose Animation Range)
10) Open a new scene in Daz
11) Load up Genesis 8
12) Make sure you have this installed: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/176806/g3f-to-g8f-pose-helper
13) Apply G3F Pose Helper morph to 100%
14) Drag the .duf file on top of Genesis 8.
15) Be happy that you found an easy way to make G8 work with mixamo.
Doesn't help seeing that the link is dead for the most important file!
Try the Agent Unawares Pose utility (see his/her signature above).
I just realized my iphone doesnt shiw sig lines

How to make a JCM that fires only when the specific morph is set to 100I'm still not sure what you mean. The method I am suggesting is:
- apply your morph and pose the figure with the bend in question, so the JCM triggers
- apply the dress - now it should have the morphs automatically
- send to ZBrush and do whatever you want to fix the result of morph+pose+JCM
- send back to DS, with the figure still posed, give it a new name, and seelct the reverse deformations option
- link the new morph as we discussed above
Now when you pose the figure without your morph applied you will get the base JCM, when you add your morph you will get the JCM plus the extra correction - which is what you asked for.
I have Marvelous Designer 8 but I do not have zbrush or maya.
How should I do it with morph loder pro?Morphs from G3 to G8The next Beta is comming soon. Like the first, there will be known issues. In this case, those issues are as follows:
UI Bug causes list items to write over each other.
Possibly same UI bug prevents execution on Mac.
Mac progress UI pops uner main GenNext widow, making it appear as if nothing is happening
Mutant X has strange arms after transfer to G8M. (Can't seem to replicate effect with any other morph, not tested in transfers to other figures).
Progress UI only reaches 100% on single Morph transfers.
IIntent of UI operation is not conducive to user assumptions. (I'd have liked to have already redesigned this, but given the problems with the UI and Macs, it seems politic to get a solid handle on what is causing the Mac issue before redesigning the UI. I know some of you found it poisitve and easy to understand, but over all feedback was that the options were confusing, so that needs fixing. All of this refers to the same part of the UI.
Catastrophic failure in $.11 Beta. No logging data, so no clue if this because GenNext of 4.11. Current plan is to build a test environment around 4.11, and see is it's possible to determine the source of the issue in the same way the Mac issue was found (disabling things, even if it breaks the script, and then seeing if the failure mode changes. (The issue on Mac is similar, there is nothing logged, and no error, the difference is that 4.10.0.123 doesn't die when the script runs on Mac.)
Poor fidelity in the shoulders when transfering from G8 to any T-Pose Figure. This is slight alignment issue with the meshes, and will have to wait until I have a working monitor to be fixed. Trying to evaluated tests in Studio is hard on a 5 inch screen. Modeling would be impposible. (The new monitor assembly is en route). should have it by next weekend, at the lateset.)
Things Fixed:
Transfers from G*M to G2M failed. The G8M clone was missing.
Transfers from G2M failed. This was due to a bug that was not consistent on my system. It should work now.
Directory mapping transformed to Daz's iStudio's internal standard. This was largely true, anyway, but there were some Windows assumption built in. There probably still are a few left, but they don't impact operation on the Mac.
As a side effect of the above, support for Connect products, and library indepence. GenNext should run correctly wherever it is installed. Please note, this has only been tested on one Morph inside the Mac test environment (I don't use Connect, personally, but it seemed worth using to test with). I may not have resolved all of the possible bugs with file casing (Genesis8Female.dsf on Maunal of DIM libraries, genesis8female.dsf in Connect) Also, yes, the scrip is running on Mac, but only with the offending (critical) part of UI disabled, and having hardcoded exactly what Morph to transfer.
Feedback required on:
I've gotten good support in terms of getting examples of issues spawned by transfers from odd figures to G8. But I need more info on events occuring when transfering from G8 to older figures. I know this isn't the primary, or even the most likely use case. Still, GenNext can do it, so I need examples of what haappens when it does. I discovered the G2M issue above, while checking to see if the problem reported with transfer from G2M was symetrical).
The original intent of the script was to transfer a whole product at once, with JCMs, MCM, and other character specifice properties intact. However, (between G3 abd G8) this inot necessary most of the time. It is possible to make this the optional behavior, and limit the default behavior of the script to only transfer those Morphs explicitly marked by the user. Which would you, as users prefer? This is a choice between "One Checkbox transfers everything, unless otherwise specified," or, "You must mark exactly the items you want to transfer, unless specified otherwise." Personally, I think the latter is better, but I thought the current UI was fine, so my POV is not a good meter stick. Some lements of how the script works will have reamin the same, despite being less than optimally clear. But they are odd (but important) use cases, and there's no real simple way to do them. GenNext's Design philosphy was always the opposite of GenX's. I don't want to give the user hundress of chices, most of which will never be used. Nor is this meant as PA tool that I'm sharing with the public for wider profit. It's meant to help you move the morphs you want to the figure you want them on. I need to know what you expect that to look like, and what you want, pruely as users, so I can make sure the script gets close to exepectations.
For those who are looking for something more tech heavy, I have it on fair authority that someone is on that. Since they haven't been public (that I'm aware), I won't out them. I have some experience with how difficult the really simple things turn out to be.All that said, I also need to know if my assuption is wrong, and you mostly expect to have access to everything the script could do. I won't promise to add all that before release, but I can adjust to the idea.
EDIT: Soory about the typos. 5 inch screen, 1080HD display.
3D Comic Book Tips And Pictures@Griffin_Avid I used to collect a few issues here and there. The fantasy aspect I think is what I enjoyed the most. The huge creatures and supernatural stuff. So much fun.
Red Nails is in the Book 1 compendium released by Dark Horse. Great story. The character of Tolkemec has a unique and grisley appearance. The art is great in that story. I really like the sense of scale with these ancient structures. It's also got dinosaurs, living skeletons and all the cool stuff associated with Conan. It's a good story.
I really like the John Buscema artwork. Probably my favourite from book 1 is 'Iron shadows in the moon'. But they are all good stories.I am including the original renders out of Daz. The abs were part of the morph on the Michael 4 character. I think it was the Barbarian pack I used, which was obviously inspired by Conan itself.
I actually never considered using the older generation models for comic design, however, this render came out alright. I might dig out the old Victoria 4 model and do some tests using these characters in a comic format. Surprising what you can discover when you are just trying out things.
On a side note. How long does it usually take you guys to make a complete comic issue. It's already taken me over a month to make 1 and half pages, I'm thinking this may take some time to complete!
I'm also including a test render trying to emulate the Boris Vallejo art style. Might be good for cover artwork.

Nylon Stockings problemIf the squeeze morph is an HD morph you will not be able to see in the preview without turning up the SubD level of the figure. It should be visible when rendered.
Is there an app/program that will transfer morphs/shape between Generations?G3 to G8 morph converter:
https://www.deviantart.com/darkhound1/art/Genesis3-to-Gen8-morph-converter-1-1-buy-it-here-688385140
How about a Figure ConverterI hope they don't release G9 with as awful hip/pelvis mesh and unnatural joint bends as the current one.
You can use G3 to G8 morph converter to convert G3 morphs to G8, it's quite doable right now.
How to Make a Clothes fit and work for Victoria 4?Victoria 4 is an independent figure released before the Genesis line, she’s the base figure not a shape for some other base. And she uses a different type of rigging than Genesis figures (she’s not weight mapped).
To create clothes for V4 you need to model them around V4 base shape then use the figure setup tools (not the transfer utility which is for weight mapped figures) to rig them.
Identify this hair?It looks a lot like https://www.daz3d.com/symphony-hair-and-headset-for-genesis-3-female-s, except the ponytails seem to be lower on the head (but that could be a morph)
