3D Printing Licences - What?

if I have a license for Victoria 8 and dress her with a PA product that is not licensed, then I could not sell said 3d print?
Short answer: Nope. Long answer: You might if you can talk the vendor into either selling you a license or allowing the print...As near as I can tell, the Vendors are bound by the contractual terms of the DAZ EULA due to the item being sold via a DAZ license, so this would seem to restrict one to only using DAZ Original items... or items from another 3D store. What do you want to bet that Renderosity and other store artists are going to be jumping all over this loophole while exclusively DAZ PAs will be left out in the cold?

Let vendors sell the morphs used to create an attractive character from other character sets. Most of the attractive characters are used as promo images to showcase clothing. In fact, I want that attractive character instead of whatever clothing is being show cased.
I am willing to pay $10.00 $20.00 or $30.00 for a list of morphs used to create an attractive character. So let's say the vendor owns: Victoria 8, Jacqueline 8.1, and Rune 7. Then from those morphs, and the default Genesis 7 & 8 morphs, they manage to make a very attractive character. I want to buy how that character was made. So I essentially would be paying for the combination of morphs used to create that attractive character. Whatever character assets needed, I would also have to buy.
One of the most time consuming processes is creating a highly attractive and charismatic character. 97% of DAZ people are not attractive enough for what I need.A lot of you vendors know how to make very beautiful characters, and THAT IS WHAT I WANT TO BUY. There should be some way to let you sell attractive character sets; the list of morphs used. Then we'll buy whatever characters were needed to make that attractive character.
It's very annoying to see an attractive character I could use in my work, but instead it's used to showcase clothing I don't need. I NEED THE ACTUAL ATTRACTIVE CHARACTER IN THE PROMO IMAGE.
I repeat, you don't know how time consuming it is making an attractive character from existing characters. If I could pay like $50.00 for someone to make the attactive character, I'd prefer that, since most of DAZ people are not attractive out of the box.
Please allow vendors to start doing this within 30 days, no less. Thank you.3D Printing Licences - What?markusmatern said:
The checkmarks to add the license started to appear on some items:

However the buttons that appears "Add license" does nothing and the displayed price is not 0.

Confirmed.
It looks like Daz didn't manage to implement the addition correctly. Oh, and the "what is this?" link leads to Interactive Licence explanation, not to the one for 3D printing.
Daz, why on Earth can't you test it before going live with it? *facepalm*

3D Printing Licences - What?Trying hard to put this in the way I want to, what I'm trying to say is meant as a query: It was my understanding that under common law conditions that anything not explicitly controlled in a contract was permitted. Offering retrospective licences seems to be an attempt to retroactively re-write the contract and limit actions permitted under common law contracts. It is my understanding that this contract change would be hard to enforce in law, to the point of impossibility. Is my understanding correct (a request aimed at people with more contract law experience than I)? Regards, Richard ETA: must admit I am thinking more of my content obtained before anyone even thought about 3d printing (Victoria 3 era stuff, mostly). If Michael and Victoria had a kid, or how to transfer head morphs between G8F & G8M?ggrancharov said:
I am working on a project where I need to somehow mix morphs between two characters, one being female and the other male. I searched the forums for a few days and read every thread there probably is on the topic, but unfortunatly most of them are looking at it from a 'transgender' perspective - and not a 'two adults having a child' perspective.
So, at least theoretically speaking a "kid" between Michael and Victoria would inherit 30% of Michaels body and headshape and 70% of victoria's body and head shape if its female [they have a daughter] or vice versa if it's a boy. I would then use a tool like Genesis 8 UV Swap to apply either Victorias or Miachels texture on the 'kid' and then use the 'grow up' plugin to get the mature kid into a real kid-like body.
Where I am stuck is the headshape/morphs. I need to find a way to be able to 'apply 50% of a G8M head' to a any G8F character and vice versa.
Has anyone ever looked into this?
I'd be happy to fund development of such a mod/workaround if there still is none.

Sounds like you need to use the Transfer Utility to transfer the Michael 8.1 head morph to Victoria 8.1, and/or vice versa. This can easily be done within DAZ with tools provided. This will not have any Transgender transfers with it just the head morph. If you aren't familiar with the Transfer Utility, there are several good videos out there on how to use it. I will update this post after putting a quick class together. I do this all the time, you get quite good at it after a few times! Reply here if you want a quick tutorial, TD
Stop IK Chains from loading on a figure (Inverse Kinematics)The Pythion is, I think, in Poser fprmat and probably has IK chainss et up in the CR2 file. Those can be edited out (with a text editor) - there are instructions around for doing it with Victoria 4 and Michael 4 I think.

I remember how with a new DO character, there'd be multiple characters released that utilized the DO character morph. So if you wanted a certain character to look how they should, you needed that specific core character. I don't really see that happening at all anymore.
Aside from that, I've found that if you want to use Daz characters in a program like Blender, even though Diffeo does an absolutely amazing job transferring the materials from Daz to Blender, I've found that some skins from a few PA's don't look right when you bring them over, it's not always guaranteed to look like it does in Daz, but I have never seen a DO character's materials not look stunning in Blender. Someone who really knows materials might know how to fix it, but I've tried playing around with some of the materials and never could figure out what the issue was. So I like getting the DO characters for their skins because I know I can bring them into Blender and it'll look how it should.
I remember those days. If I remember correctly, Victoria 7 was required for a phenomenal number of 3rd party characters. There were a few characters that required 'Sydney 8' that I never ended up buying because I didn't really want to pay for the base character on top, perhaps why the frequency of this 'base reliance' appears to have drastically reduced over the years.
That's interesting. Although I have downloaded Blender, I haven't yet had a chance to explore it and teach myself how it works. I suppose I'll find out about this issue soon(ish). Thanks for the heads-up.

Who is she?I'm gonna say Tara 2 Human version with the brows removed using the Brow Remover script and replaced with the one of the fibermesh brows from the Super Natural Brows pack. Not sure which Vellus hair pack is being used though as there are several out there.

There're Steam games that have Daz characters with millions of polygons, the characters can be customized by players using morphs, and the animations are not lagging even running on common gaming laptops. Unreal engine 5 can handle billions of polygons, and the CC software should catch up to enable exporting high poly characters and high definition morphs.
Thanks for the Youtube videos provided by Krys, the videos explain how to use the HD Morphs plugin, and that Daz 3D acturually has HD support, need to purchase the Victoria 8 HD add-on to unlock the HD morphs.
There should be no need to purchase a specific HD morph to enable anything to do with HD morphs.

I started learning Unreal Engine for this reason. I'm still learning, so what is your intended workflow? Animate in Blender and export the character and animation to Unreal? Maya has a live link where we can animate in Maya and see the result real time in Unreal. That's kinda where I'm headed...

What Hair, Dress and Bikini are these...Search for "Basicwear" for the Bikini style - it's a Victoria 4 asset tho so I don't know if there is a newer version with a different name.
Also, the hair is difficult to tell as the pics are not that high res but if you don't find a better match then Caprice Hair and Linda Ponytail Hair look similarish to me.
No idea on the dress tho.
Mouse controls in view port not working rightI typically start out with a single character in a basic outfit and hair. The last experiments involved G3F, a basic shift dress, and hairstyles from the Victoria 4 era, no background elements. I typically use unshaded or texture-shaded settings in the viewport, only switching to Iray for specific preview moments.
help? Where is Daz Studio 4.9??alan bard newcomer said:
not surprising since I remember having to re-number a set of 12 hdrs to 01,02 etc in order to keep 11 and 12 from coming up in front of the daz listing.
That is up to the PA who made the set
and of course we went from V1 2 3 V4 to G then G2, G3 and then G8 and now G8.1
Well, Genesis was a separate series using a separate system so they restarted the numbering fro that, and then having the Victoria etc. numbers not match the Genesis number was confusing so they rebased.
In any event, the version numbering system for Daz Studio is pretty normal (even the lack of leading zeroes), not something that needs comment.
Bringing Victoria 4.2 out of retirement Thanks to Iclone Character Creator 4 and Skin Gen!Nice music video! V4 was before my time as a 3D artist. I didn't discover 3D art until Genesis 3, but for some reason I find the Victoria 4 model very interesting. I've always been fascinated with that figure, I'm not completely sure why. Maybe because she was apparently "top dog" for SO LONG compared to all the other figure generations before or since. I really enjoyed the video! Thank you for sharing!
