@barbult whilst I appreciate the input, I'm fully aware of how important documentation can be - after all I've included it with several of my other products, and I was a software developer (front end web) for many years. That being said, I also know from experience that documentation is often ignored - but that doesn't usually deter me because I've always been the one advocating for it, along with accessibility improvements. To be perfectly honest I didn't think documentation would be necessary for this product as I thought it was fairly straightforward, which was clearly a misconception on my part - but still included some readme notes just in case. I've also advocated for having a readme link on the product page and have made loads of other suggestions, but it's not a priority for Daz. Whilst one can try to predict what problems will be faced, sometimes it has to be done retrospectively, which is why I create these forum threads to try and provide some support - which isn't something we have to do, but I try to as I know how valuable it can be for customers. This is also something I've considered not doing, because most of the time my threads are ignored, so it really is a balancing act to know what to do sometimes. Writing documentation can also be very time consuming, which in the current climate with constant sales/promotions means that we have to be increasingly more efficient with our time, that's sadly the reality. Sorry for the long message but I felt it was necessary to explain.

The tips provided above are all great ones and very valid.

I'll add one more. If you put a cart together and you like the items and total enough to want to check out, check out. Like others have said, don't wait for a better deal. You can always make a second purchase if there's another good deal. But you can't get back a great cart you missed out on waiting for a better deal.

Good advice, with the caveat that most coupon codes are use-once. (So you can't always go back for a second round.) It's a balancing act between checking out when you're happy to lock in your deals, or risking something going wrong to squeeze a few more items into the cart.

Sales generally turn over at midnight Mountain Standard Time (Daz's time zone) and often the items that were discounted before jump up in price. They'll eventually be discounted again in a future sale.

    Hi all

I was thinking of making some purchases after being away from Daz for some time. Foolishly stuck some things in my cart over the BF weekend, thinking that sale would extend past Monday... which it did not. Eh, just about every other softtware maker I use/am interested in has their sale last about a week past BF, but ok, Daz does not. So items in my cart are all back to being full price, rather than 50% off.

My question is, since there is "always another sale", though I am pretty unfamiliar with the Daz sales cycles or regular events:
WIll there be any other chances leading up to Xmas, at Xmas, or after Xmas for 50% off most items? Or is BF the biggest/best and I've sadly missed it?

Thanks for your wisdom in advance

My advice would be to read some of the forum pages, especially in this thread, to get a feel for how people reacted to past sales. That and don't be hasty - just watch for awhile, and study the shop rhythm. There are offers running constantly, and imo a strong sale happens at least every few weeks.

Sales between Christmas and New Years will probably have some deeper discounts.

  • How to organize my stuff

For the list of products you own on the Daz store I believe that the Daz Deals plugin adds some functionality that may help categorize things (apply label) but I have not used it.

For the general questions, Smart Content should have been the answer to that - but since it's often missing or wrong it unfortnately cannot be relied upon. My current go-to is to search on google for whatever outfit, prop, pose etc the scene needs and hope that one of the first few items that pops up is a product that I already own (or is on sale).

Every other day (though actually we will be getting the usual four in total for the week, not three-and-a-half)

Because of the "better selection with more Punches" bit. I'm taking that to mean if you have one purchase from the day before you will get a freebie, but if you have 2 or 3 punches the quality of the freebie selection is better. That could mean more likely to be from your wishlist, or higher SKU, or higher base dollar value, but the wording is there for a reason.

There is often wording in Daz ads that is completely wrong. I wouldn't jump to the conclusion the those words you highlighted have any more underlying meaning than others. Be careful about "speculating". That tends to get posts removed from the forum.

I do have to partially agree with Frank. The first sentence is literally "Better selection with more punches." If you take it at its straight forward meaning, Frank is correct. But you are also correct about Daz advertisement slogans often are not 100% correct, so you can't always take them at exactly what they say, since the way it is written does not mean always align with fact. Example "20% off your entire cart" often does not mean that because they forgot to add subtext or assumed subtext is read from other pages. Plus the second sentence says you will always have a free item if you have at least 1 punch. That might mean that sometimes you might get a free option with 0 punches, but you will always have a free option with at least 1 punch. So having 1 punch which is more than 0 punches will provide better options. So at the end of the day we won't know for certain until we see the whole event play out.

Sorry for the stupid question, but does anyone know if purchases must be over $1 per punch card, so $0.99 items in OS or QG don't count? So the minimum spend is $1.99?
I'm also asking DAZ if they see this forum: Is there any chance a single $0.99 purchase for the punch card counts?
I'd like to know before I decide what to buy. Thanks :)

That's the gimmick! To always have punches, you'll basically need to anticipate spending $1.99 a day (since items are split $0.99 or $1.99). Some days could sometimes be less (eg if the Better Than Daz+ offer appeals and you're a Premier member, etc.) You don't need punches every day of the sale, but you'll need good luck (and patience) if you let it drop occasionally and Daz suddenly runs an unexpectedly strong offer at an odd time of month. Last year I experimented and the two strategies seemed to be: keep a daily punch quota no matter what (spendy, but most latitude), or don't worry about it at all until late in the sale (and be limited to those offers/selection, but enter with a bigger bank).

    daveso said:

it is obvious to take advantage of sales to the fullest a membeship is needed. If I, or anyone, were to join TODAY, Dcember 1, when would the membership expire?

Agreed that a membership makes sense this month. I see there's a Better Than Daz+ offer which I assume is daily, and for Premier members it's $1.49 which plays nicely with the holiday punch card requirements. If someone wanted punches all month and wasn't selective about acquiring any of the buy-in items, the difference of buying a $1.99 item for 30 days and a $1.49 item for 30 days is already almost break-even for a month of Premier. Plus the two coupons, free character bundle, and any membership bonus offers (gift card deals, etc)

If you join today it'll probably end at some unexpected hour near January 1st. :P imo the membership clock has been too unpredictable to anticipate a specific renewal date/hour.

Oh, I see your later post that you renewed already. Yeah, I forgot it's double tokens day, nice.

    FrankTheTank said:

So right now I have 3 punches as a Daz+ member with a 35% discount.

If I purchase nothing today over $1.00 then my punch discount goes from 35% back down to 0%. But do I still get the Advent Calendar freebie offers for the next 2 days, before I have to buy something else over a dollar or does that also reset?

Also, will it still count as having 2 purchases to get the special item freebie tomorrow (which was Marius today). Or will that also reset to zero?

Furthermore, If I purchase something for .99 does, I know it doesn't earn me a Punch discount, but does it still count for resetting the Advent Calendar freebies like last year?

I wish we had some clarification on these rules. I think there is a chance nothing has changed, because the gift card works in the same way, it didn't earn a Punch last year either, but it did reset the Calendar freebie offers, so I guess we need someone with zero punches currently to do a test and see if a 99 cent purchase today will earn freebie offers for the next 3 days.

If it's like last year, you get the advent calendar offers every day whether you buy anything or not. I seem to remember the offers switching to two buy offers (no freebie) if you didn't shop regularly enough, but I'm not sure.

If the Nice List offer is a daily thing, whether or not it's a freebie says it's based on punch count, so as a Daz+ member any future ones would stop being a freebie if you let your punches lapse (until you built up 2 punches again)

Not sure on the advent calendar freebies responding to a $0.99 purchase. It wouldn't surprise me if they're keyed to punches as well, i.e. spendy customers might get options that reinforce spendiness.

1 is 1, not 1.99, not 0.99. Some things are worth less than 1.99, like this one ($1.49) https://www.daz3d.com/xi-street-of-prague

Of course, 1.99 is the most common choice, which is the trap. I saw it, but my greed made me jump in.

Thank you barbult! It's feedback like that that fuels my OCD and keeps me creative.
Btw, I put this in the OP, but I guess I should repeat it here (and if posting this isn't allowed in this forum, please remove this post), I originally created books and magazines for this set, but I used A.I. generated elements in their textures so I had to leave them out to avoid copyright issues. But, if you don't mind the A.I. and aren't using them for something commercial where it could be a concern, here's a link to them: Magazines and Books ZIP files These stand alone as their own thing, so anyone reading this can use them, even if you didn't buy my set. Just, you know, keep in mind about the A.I. elements.

As the punch card section states, the purchase must be over $1, so yes, it's safe to assume that $0.99 won't count (and if you're in a place where sales tax is added, keep in mind that sales tax doesn't count toward the punch card either). So if you want to use QG/OS items, the $1.99 items will be the minimum.

    Thanks!:)

  • Freebie Challenge December 2025 - "Christmas!" - Main Thread

Freebie Challenge December 2025 - Christmas!

Denizens of the Daz3D forum freebie area - The festive season is upon us once more, but there's no time for merriment just yet! You see, i've spoken to santa (we're on the same mud wrestling team), and he has an unfathomable conundrum. No-one seems to believe in the chubby fellow any more. The man spends all of christmas eve greasing up your chimneys to spread Christmas cheer, whilst you're unconscious on the couch, in some sort of mince-pie induced coma. He spends all year figuring out how exactly playstations are made, and sewing a billion pairs of socks … For what? If no-one believes in him, the man might just jolly-well give up the game all together, and take on mud-wrestling full time. We can't let this stand denizens. I want my seinfeld anniversary box-set and festive mud-wrestling mankini under the tree, so it's time for action.

I need everyone to post evidence that santa has been. Half eaten cookies perhaps? Hoof prints on your roof? Maybe you have ring camera footage of the man in action? We need to get the word out there that the big man is still in the game, and he's going to be out there wrecking chimneys in less than a months time.

TL;DR - Render Santa, or evidence of santa.

    Rules:

    1. Minimum of 3 freebies.

    2. A Maximum of 5 purchased items.

    3. Genesis and its standard morphs are fine.

    4. If you postwork your images, provide the base image.

    5. You can use AI for post-work, upscaling, colour work etc, just go easy and stick with the spirit of the competition.

    6. All Daz ecosystem programs are allowed – Bryce, carrara etc (Even poser, If you behave yourself)

    7. Images pictures are subject to Daz TOS.

    8. No max Entries on this one. I can't count. Do as many as you want.

This Freebie Challenge will end December 31st, 2025 @ 23:59 Daz time.

First Place: $15 store credit from KindredArts
Second Place: $10 store credit from KindredArts

My promo page for today says there's 2 coupons that expire in 4:53:22 and the codes are WEEKEND-SALE & MID-SUNDAY; they don't work.  Reading this forum, it seems these MAY OR MAY NOT be expired and MAY or MAY NOT HAVE BEEN RESTARTED since there were some issues with them when started earlier (to expire at noon.)  I opened the page in Safari on my iPhone (I was previously on a PC with Edge browser) to see if it was just old page data, but the same sale/Coupons still shows - and I have NOT LOADED a DAZ page in Safari on my phone in some time, meaning this shouldn't be a cached page on my phone.

Are the coupons actually active again until 6pm daz time, or not? If they are supposed to be active again, they are not working for me.

Same thing shows for me, and neither code works, so...
