Hi,

I can't attach a file to a forum post. It's just uploading for hours...

Anyone else has experienced it? It makes impossible to upload contest pictures XD (I have to use my gallery but that's limited in size.)

So it's getting a bit annoying.

I made it over 4000pixel wide but the gallery only let it upload in 425 pixel :P

forum is limited to under 2mb in kb size, and we ask that you restrict it to 800pixels in width for forum display by using the image tools.  You can set it up so that clicking on it will bring it up to full size, but you do have to remember that people use all sorts of devices to view the site, so we need to keep things friendly for all.

Gallery is larger in size, certainly more than 425 but I am not sure it can manage 4000. I have images in my gallery far larger than the 425 you quote.     again the kb size is the crucial part.  I am not sure what the limit is on the Gallery.  There has to be a reasonable limit, given the number of images that are uploaded to the site.

I tried to upload the original 4000*5200 and a 800*1040 pixel one, which is 128 kb so that shouldn't be the problem to the forum. Still I getting the uploading  for hours.

The gallery automaticly turn my pictures into 425 ones, so I don't know how you can have larger ones...

@Xellosz, I upload large images to the forums and gallieries on a regular basis. I use a program called Irfanview to save those images in the jpeg format with a limit on file size of 2000kb, (or 2 MB.) When saving, open the Options, tick the Set file size: option and enter 2000. The program will save with the possible quality and still remain under the 2MB constraint.

I'm not sure where you're seeing the "[domain]/galleryimage/image/713996/daydreaming-at-the-balcony_425_auto.png" image. The gallery page for the image is: https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/images/713996/, and the image displayed there is 730 pixels wide. The full image is only 923 x 769, though, and that's because the gallery software automatically resizes the image to bring the file size under the 2MB limit. (That's an improvement over the days when it would download the image and then tell you the image was too big!)

ETA: The other image's gallery page is here, and the full-size image, (when you click on the image to view,) is 1916 x 2491.

They may have changed that, I have uploaded PNGs as large as 3.8 MB (or maybe the limit is larger for PNG as they are generally larger than JPG).

    Thx, it helped.
