  • [FE Decoration Background Vol 2] What is the name of this character?

I usually assume such characters are either unreleased (but soon to be released) characters or characters that the artist doesn't want to share, only show off as theirs. Either way, only time and IRL obligations stop me from recreating a facsimile from the products at my disposal.

Even if the character is released afterwards, sometimes my own version feels better to me because I made it to where it looks appealing to my tastes. Though it doesn't hurt to pick it up afterwards and then tweak it to my liking. There's some characters that are a completely custom morph that's difficult to replicate with morph packs.

  • Replicate a face from a frontal photo, at hand, no plugins that fails

I have facegen but am unsure at the legality of sharing a morph made with it for other tthan my own use. The three pictures you post about look low contrast and too much hair on the forehead to give the best automated FaceGen results.

yep is illegal, but just share your result!!,

if you convince me (or facegen convince me) I could buy the software. wink

No, it is perfectly legal to share the morph made by Facegen! it is right there in Facegen's legal section:

    https://facegen.com/artist_legal.htm

    "Legal

Texture images, morph targets and FaceGen '.fg' files created with Artist are yours to distribute."

And of course this would have been cleared by Daz's legal team in order for Facegen to post it. So its cool! You also share the .fg file too, so people can use the .fg file to create their own version from their own copy of Facegen.

So its fine. There are people at ShareCG that share their Facegen created faces. One is Dumbuser. He has a bunch of really cool Facegen people up.

I'd love to see some kind of sharing thread for Facegen creations. It should be its own thread.

I believe Face Transfer allows it as well, but I cannot find the readme file or any info on it. Perhaps somebody could chime in on this for clarification.

Is that the same as https://www.daz3d.com/facegen-artist-pro ? It's weird I can find no connection between the two. Or any mention of the sharing on the Daz site.

  • Problem creating morph on pleated skirt

Does the bulge appear if you undo (Edit>Undo, or ctrl-z) the side-to-side rather than setting its value to 0?

Thank you for your reply Richard.  I have managed to create the morph.  I was doing steps that wern't needed. Now trying to create a morph for particular kneeling pose. Manage to create and save the morph.  When I reload the skirt and turn the Kneeling morph slider up the skirt just falls off of the figure. Is there a tutorial somewhere that deals with creating and saving morphs for certain poses.

Well I've got a little tutorial "here" with pose simulations being the targeted morph poses to make. The trick is to keep the figure in the pose and along with the clothing send it over to the modeler to be morphed. Back in D/S select the clothing. In the modeler [i.e. Hexagon] morph the clothing and send it back to D/S to make the morph reversing deformations.

  • Replicate a face from a frontal photo, at hand, no plugins that fails

I used Face Transfer and the add on for it to do this ,used GIMP to get the hair off her forehead   and then ended up useing brow remover ,to get rid of her brows ,

maybe if you (we) use other photos, I have a lot more.

I´m experimenting with such photos  too.

The problem with photos is that a person may look very different from one photo to another, especially if the person is at different ages on the photos, or if they're using different makeup or none at all (some of the "stars" out there actually look very different and not always very pretty without makeup - sometimes you think "wow is that really her?").  So choose one photo (or perhaps one front and one profile shot) and stick to that, otherwise you may end up getting totally confused (speaking from experience).

  • [Released] RSSY Clothing Converter from Victoria 4 to Genesis 8 Female [Commercial]

When I converted Key's Leathers they were a little loose but I scaled it down, made sure it was set collide, it was. I scaled as far as it would allow and correct. It fitted a little loose on the collarbones. but it was close enough and I thought fitting tighter would change the neckline in a less favorable way.  There does seem to be some looseness around the collarbones on some models. But I am not sure all files were set to fit the default V4 and not a morphed character add on. I decided to do a bunch of Arki's old V4 files.  The Malik overpants actually worked! The top overskirt On Glacerial Queen gets garbled as it is so far from the body.  I can fit that and parent it pretty quick. But the dress is perfect.  Way better than anything I can do.  Some loinclothes did not make it, but I am going to try it again and tell it they are loincloths.  I did a batch and these files don't identify well.  V4 files are the hardest to work with.  I did a ton of hair with the hair converters and G1, G2, G3 were so easy.  But these products are so worth their weight in gold for the shoe dialogue and all the files they did perfectly and so fast.  I had a few hair models I had to adjust and parent in place.  I will study the manual, I know I am messing up there myself.  In the old days that was how you did it, lol.  I have gotten more files fitted to G8 with your products than I had gotten done in years with G3.  I am going to convert more files, and make a shoe folder and get good at using that. I love that so much.  It really does work well and it cut my workload drasticly to just let it take a crack at those files first.

Thank you for sharing and the kind words!  laugh  I am so glad you like my products!

When the clothing items are converted, a lot of helper morphs are added to address fit issues.  The helper morphs are in the Parameters pane, below Actor->Converter Morphs).  Adjusting the Tighten All morph and turning on Smoothing can fix most issues.  Otherwise, there a lot of additional morphs you can use to tweak the fit.

  • SereneNight's Sci-Fi Fun Thread 2

    Do a pose transition?

Also, you dont have to sim from a conformed item.  And maybe do the following?

    • You can unfit the item under "Fit to..." in parameters and then you can move the garments around till they look like they are in a better place to start. You can then change collision item in parameters.
    • You can morph the garment using a large-figure body morph to make it bigger if you want more draping.

Tbh, i never use d-force so dont know if that advice even works... but im just the ideas man.

Since it isn't listed as a Merchant resource I believe you cannot legally share a morph made with it, regardless if it wouldn't be for money.

  • "An error occurred" or Carrara crashes out when loading or fitting content

Thank you all. I will try that.
The problem here is the work I put into the character before adding any clothing.
Usually I create the character first, with all the morphs, textures. When that is done, I save the character in a seperate file and then from there I create a clean scene where I start adding the cloth and gear.
I am not certain if I just caught some bug in my character and I can't fit things on it anymore because of that.
I just used the creature morph and morph ++ that came with the big M4 Bundle.

  • Celebrity Look-a-Likes for 3D figures Part 2

Maybe already asked, and maybe already answered... But has anyone seen a a morph of Dawn Wells (aka "Mary Ann" of Gilligan's Island)?

If not, what the heck are you all waiting for!

    G

Search for Maryann over at Rendo.  addy has a character Maryann that is almost the spitting image of Dawn Wells, circa 1965, young sweet and georgeous.  Now if I could just find a 60's era Tina Louise and a 60's era Bob Denver for a stranded raft scene.

I won't say that figure screams "Dawn Wells" but she is a cutie! Went in my WL for now.

Had anyone tried this?, is doable or is impossible?, is my resignation hire a Zbrush artist for $500 USD to do that morph?

any tip is valuable for me, I post the photo to achieve or search for "Sakura Miyawaki" for more references.

on this picture I think you are very close mouth corners need to be turned down just a bit and mouth height raised up just a bit as well but I think the eyes are spot on and the face shape is right . but that's just my view .

  • Genesis 1 Flat-Chest morph ? [SOLVED]

Not that I know of. The closest that springs in mind is the female body morph for the torso, if limits are set off and negative values applied, it can work together with breast implants and small breast morphs. Or you can experiment with dialing in other negative values for various female bodies...

I've got the best results this way, I've transferred all the G3F, G2F and V4 flat chest /breasts gone morphs, but get distortion using them.
