When this has happened to me, I turn off the computer, pull out the plug for the external drive in question.

Then power up the Windows computer, and open File Manager so you can see all drives.

Then plug in the F: drive and watch in the corner for a message that an problem drive has been installed. If it doesn't show up and your F: drive appears like normal, see if the data is there.

If that message does appear, follow instructions for it to repair your drive. In my experience it will not damage your data.

But you may want to consider a new hard drive and transfer your data as soon as you can or backup your data.

Thank you yes I tried doing this and it did not work , I am going to buy another harddrive, Thank you for your help :)

    Genesis8 è un bug. Punto.

  • Morph from AprilYSH

Well, being mentioned in Notes/Credits doesn't really mean the products were directly used by the PA for making promos... For instance, perhaps the PA just blended FWSA Zoe's head morph to a certain % while used skin materials / eyebrows from others.

If you want to get more solid details, better @AprilYSH who is a very nice PA. smiley

  • Morph from AprilYSH

    Hi everyone! laugh

I'm looking for a way to contact the seller named AprilYSH. I'd like to ask them what character morph they used for the model they used on their promo images of their products:

    https://www.daz3d.com/tempest-hair-for-genesis-3-8-female-s

    And

    https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-deja-hair-for-genesis-3-and-8-females

The description mentions the use of both:

     https://www.daz3d.com/fwsa-zoe-hd-for-victoria-7-and-lf-tantalizing-undergarment

    and

    https://www.daz3d.com/fane-hair-and-character-for-genesis-8-female-s

But both characters are clearly white and doesn't even have the same eyebrows. Which makes me think another character was used as base. If anyone knows how to contact them or have any idea of who the base character is, please let me know. smiley

So, I tried opening the morph dsf with Notepad++ but it was basically the same indecipherable way it appeared when I tried opening it with vanilla notepad. What am I likely doing wrong?

You did nothing wrong but just needed to uncompress DSF file via: Window > Panes > Batch Convert, before opening the file with Notepad++

Or, decompress the file with 7zip(or other decompression utility), delete the original dsf and change the extension to .dsf of the decompressed file.

I personally find this a bit faster, using 7zip as it adds a right click menu option, than the rigamarole of batch convert for single files.

  • use cloud storage as the base storage option for daz studio content
    IceCrMn said:

Setting it up should easy enough.

Just tell your cloud storage software where your Content library is and it should do the rest.

This might not be practical though.

Cloud storage is more for office type activities where the files are small, transfer quickly, so the owner can access them from any of their devices.

Shuffling GB's of 3D assets around downloading and uploading sounds time consuming and problematic.

You'd have to have them synced to your PC before Studio could use them so they would end up downloaded and stored on your PC anyway.

Have you looked into portable USB drives? Or internal drives?

Currently I don't have any cloud software. For the drives I have 2 pendrives of 128 and 256 gb respectively. And I have to manage them each time I changes my time or deletes any perticular asset with cloud storage like terabox I don't have to worry about that. For the internet connection I have a good internet connection so it should not cause any issues. If I sync the local storage than it will consume both storages and I don't think that cloud will have the data if I delete them from local drive or it will download in my local storage everytime I connect it to internet. I am just unable to setup terabox as network drive or local drive in windows or any other cloud drive. Any more suggestions?

  • Saved Morph Loading at 100% when creating new figure

In Parameter Settings of this morph property, change Defaut to 0. Resave Morph Asset. Or, open the dsf file of this morph in its data folder, with Notepad++, change "value" : 1 to "value" : 0. Save and reload your figure.

  • Saved Morph Loading at 100% when creating new figure

So, I made a morph for Genesis 8 and I saved it and closed Daz Studio.
Now, every time I add even a base Genesis 8 to a scene, that morph will always be set to 100%.
Not a big deal cause I can just set it to 100% and go about my business but it is a bit of a nuisance, I didn't intend this behavior, and all that.

Awesome, thank you! When is that generally done -- is that an expected step to do after Morph Loader... or in some other cases, too?

Yes, a necessary step to do after Morph Loader Pro is done, especially with imported full body morph and full head morph. Then ERC Freeze + Save Morph Assets.

  • save figure

Once you have the morphs saved as assets you an save a Character preset that will apply both shape and materials (in fact you can do that even without saving the morphs as assets, but then it will work only if used to load a new figure rather than to modify a selected figure in the scene). Though if you are exporting a morphed shape to Blender, modifying it, and importing as a single morph don't forget that you can't share it and you are losing all the joint and morph adjustments from the original morphs.

Keep an eye on the Public Build too as that is adding a nw persona preset that will not only save morphs and materials but also wearables like hair and clothes, allowing you to save a complete character set up.

  • Transferring morphs from G8F to G8M?

    lioncrud said:

is there a new method? this seems outdated and does not work.

Transfer with Morph Targets + Clone always works...and you don't need the option of Use Near Vertices because you use no projection.

After transfer, you just further dial G8F Clone on G8M... so as to have 100% same shape on G8M with the transferred Head / Body morphs dialed. Then you can further export the full character morph to OBJ, Zero G8M shape, load a HeadSplit DFormer on G8M, and import OBJ with Morph Loader Pro to separate Head / Body morphs again.

Alternatively, you can use Fit Suit method  >  https://youtu.be/kXssz90XFEA?si=FyjrKwAaHXlxMVDB

  • Morph Master

    barbult said:

I have now unchecked the option to add morphs to favorites, but it is still marking the morphs as favorites with the heart. I wonder if it is not reading the settings I have saved. Where does it store and look for the settings?

Edit:I thought I was able to resolve this problem by restarting Daz Studio, but that is not entirely true. Creating a morph with Difference correctly left the favorites heart off, but doing a Full Transfer still incorrectly put the favorites heart on the morph it created. I have not tested other Morph Master utilities to see if they have this problem.

Edit: Morph Master is adding the Favorite heart to collision morphs and Selective Transfer, too, even though I have it unselected in my preferences. So far, of the things I have tried, Difference is the only one that respects my preference for NOT adding the morphs to Favorites. @matew can you correct this, please?

Thank you for letting me know. Yes, it obviously doesn't work as it's expected. I'll fix that.
I have never thought about using my script for footprints. They look super realistic!
