[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 2 Female to Genesis 8 Female [Commercial]
Just bought the character converter and Keiko has been a total success at converting...this was the main reason for me to buy... thanks Riversoft for your work!
The first time I tried was with Juvi...the eyes were a problem... then I look at the video and I tried the tolerance (as I did the first time with Keiko...and I'm waiting...the process is about to finish after quite a little more than an hour
) wondering though about the morph dials...I cannot find any of them on the shaping tab...what should I do?
Looking forward to a reply...thanks in advance
P.S. Will post the renderings when they're done...
edited P.S. II: Had already closed and reopened Daz a couple of times to check if that was the issue...I still cannot find the dials...
You're welcome!
When you load the character, you should be able to select the character, go to Shaping tab, and then currently used and they will show up.
Less Morphs can be more when posingThis is just a quick post for the new to Daz, and a reminder for myself.
When creating a typical human-like character, remember that less is more with regards to morphs. Everyone has a tendency to add a morph, add a little more, another and another, and then you end up with a ton of morphs. The problem then surfaces when you try and use a pose. This is best demonstrated in a picture. I was making a Sakura morph that was based on Smart Doll dimensions (by Danny Choo), and ended up adding a lot of morphs.
As seen in the top left (1), the figure was what I intended, but the morphs failed miserably because of so many changes to the shape. This led to a lot of aggravation trying to correct the pose.
If I just used G2F without morphs (2), as seen in the right, the shape was NOT what I wanted, but the poses worked great!
So the solution was to re-create the morph trying to use as little morphs as I could (3). Scaliing the whole figure wont bother poses. So to get the petite size I scaled down, and then extended the legs. (legs are easier to correct than arms/shoulders/hands/fingers/etc) A waist and figure correction and was done. As you can see it was very close to my original and the pose worked much better.
So try and create character with less morphs, and your poses will work better!

How to save a pose from a fitted figure?I have 2 identical figures A1 and A2. Figure A2 has been modified through a morph then had an Adjust Rigging to Shape action done so the skeleton conforms to its new shape, then hit Memorize Rigging. I then fit figure A1 to figure A2, then hide figure A2. Is there a way I could save the figure's A1's pose as it looks while fitted to figure A2?
I'm doing some cloth simulation in Marvelous Designer on an item rigged in Daz Studio. In the attached image you can see my base figure, then the simulated figure in MD, then the fitted figure to the simulated figure. The simulated's figure's t-pose is what you see. The fitted figure's t-pose is identical to the original figure. In essence I'm using MD in conjuncture with the Adjust Rigging to Shape option from Daz in order to simulate physics on the rigging itself.
Dior HD & Nightmare FuelSo, I decided to check out Mousso's Dior HD (https://www.daz3d.com/dior-hd-for-genesis-8-female) I bought some weeks back and noticed that when I posed her, she turned into this horrible mess. I thought a re-install would fix it, but no luck. Then I re-installed the Genesis 8 Essentials to see if something was corrupted, but no luck again. Then I decided to see if I could dial her morphs into a base G8F and noticed that if I just used her 'Head' and 'Body' morphs, all was good. But if I used her entire character morph, it made her the stuff of nightmares.
Quick question to someone who has her - Can you please test out to see if this is just on my end? If not, I'll submit a ticket. Otherwise, I'd love to know if there's something corrupt on my end. Thanks!
Edited to fix image.

"No deltas for morph, skipping node."looks as if the vertex count was right but not the vertex order - there isn't much to be done there, I think (the only option I can come up with is exporting the full OBJ to a modeller and adding the morph OBJ, then use whatever tools the modeller offers to shape the base toi match and load that as a morph).
Problem with Caprice HairIs there prehaps some sort of "fine hair" or "messy strands" morph active? It looks like those hair sets (like the Haydina one, for example) that have a separate layer of fine hair strands. Perhaps those strands aren't morphing with the base? That's all I can think of...
It does have some fine hair strands and they don't move when you use the BehindShoulder morphs. Intended or not, doesn't look good IMO. Doesn't seem to be possible to hide them with the Geometry Editor - it is possible to select them using Edge Selection and Lasso, and then Select Connected, but the option for hiding them is not available.
Can you assign them to a new material group. If so you could put an invisible material on them.
Doesn't look like you can, unfortunately - the option isn't there.

Morph Loader Pro - Geometry did not matchı ve brought genesis 8 basic female to blender as an obj then ı brought it back to daz 3 - 4.12 but ıt said Geometry did not match, failed to create morph
"No deltas for morph, skipping node."It's been a long time since I've done this, and that was probably in DS 3, but if you have the target bone selected in the scene there should be an option in the morph loader controlling what to load the morph for, one of the options being something like Primary Selection (Vertex Order Only) - try that, if you can find it.
It's been a long time ...and i im grateful...
First your advice worked for me on advanced mode not on Pro mode, idk maybe the Pro mode have many options and i doing something wrong.
but this is the result when i tweaking the parametr bar

Those aren't lines, they are stray hairs. They're also visible in the promo images.
Ahhh that's a shame, it was perfect otherwise. They look more like lines than strands in mine, as they have gaps in the middle and aren't connected proper. Maybe something to do with the light?
The Mac FAQI'm really getting interested in Marmoset, as perhaps a means of fast renders. In this thread: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/389081/auto-muscle-enhancer-hd-commercial/p15
hookflash asks, [H]as anyone tried exporting their AME animation from Daz in Alembic format and then rendering in Marmoset Toolbag? In theory, it should work as long as the Daz Alembic exporter really is "vertex exact," as the product page says[?]
And D. Master answers: ABC render in marmoset. Once in marmoset it just play. And I can pan around the animation. Video was just a scene capt of Mamoset.
There is a link to the video: https://youtu.be/o2DauchvTkA
hookflash says about the Alembic format: Basically, it allows you to transfer pure mesh data (static or animated) between 3d applications, such as Daz and Marmoset, without having to worry about the usual incompatibilities that you get with formats like FBX and DAE.
So, does this show great potential for Mac users if iRay via nVidia GPUs are never coming back to the Mac platform? I'm just seeking information. I'm not trying to promote Marmoset or anything else.
I decided to look at a PB-Rendered I looked at before Iray came to DS, FluidRay, seems to load FBX files fro DS great and seems to do have much better more similar material settings than marmorset, and also stupid fast.
Daz3d to Blender WorkflowHow are folks managing hair in 2.8x ?
I don't use none strand/dforce hair as it rarely looks as good.
I've been trying to learn the particle hair system from this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpVyTc_72z0
But his blender is the older version which is annoying since the UI has changed quite a bit.
(oh hey! you're the asymmetric face morph guy! thanks for that!)
I've been playing with the skin shader in blended and got my model to something I'm for now satisfied with. However there are really jagged shadows on her forehead and chin, am not sure how to resolve these. She has already been shaded smooth. Does she need subd surfacing?
Thanks, but I've seen that before.
I've just been experimenting and practicing.
Not too bad, and when I've got something im happy with, I'll post here.

"No deltas for morph, skipping node."Is Anime Doll a variant of Maya Doll? Morphs are geometry-specific.
As far as I know, their difference is from the neck and above...
I have in my library and the AnimeDoll to, but that I want to know is how can i merge the morph target (obg) to the specific "child" (rColar/lColar)
...Sorry for my English
Broad shoulder morph for Genesis 8 female? There's the basic, which a lot of characters require:
https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-8-female-body-morphs
Using the Shoulder Width morph dialed to 100% on the character on the left. Character on the right is out of the box.
For this and many more options, there's also
Thank you!! Shape Shift worked wonders
Daz3d to Blender WorkflowHow much subd do you think a daz model needs to be sufficiently acceptable? Not too much I hope!
I tried playing with the hair particle system. Definitely not easy! I kinda gave up and just cheated by zooming in lol. I could not get the hair parting looking right, they all just kept protruding really weirdly.
Anyhoo, any idea how to make her irises a little smaller? They look kinda anime at the moment.Subd is completely up to you. I don't think I've ever gone above 2.
As for hair, yeah, a few of us are struggling with getting a handle on it. I've seen what competent people can do with it, and very quickly, though. If you're using 2.83, though, you can put the character in a collection and then set that collection as the collision collection. That should vastly improve penetrations and just look more natural.
As for the irises, you could fix it in Blender, there's probably an edge loop you could slide, but I think you should really find a morph in Daz for that sort of thing... stand on the shoulders of giants, ya know?
Na'vi like character (Avatar) Any help?Closest one I know of is The Navarian and Navarian Hair from DarioFish at Renderosity and it's for the original Genesis not Genesis 8. SickleYield has a tutorial on how to transfer morphs from one figure to another. Riversoft has hair converter programs as well for Genesis to Genesis 8 Male/Female that work great as well.
Yep. Thank you, i also found DarioFish HFS Ultimate Shapes for Genesis 8 Male\Female. There are nice Na'vi like shape. Also EJ Alien Creator Morphs have Avatar looking morphs.
Still looking something for skin.
