Help Needed Cannot Find DAZ "Data" file
I'm trying to use a body stype that is in the DATA folder. Problem is, as in the picture, while my computer search function shows the DATA file Is there (In My Daz Library), going into My Daz Library - the folder is NOT there. - I don't know how this can be, but I need to somehow get into the DATA folder in My Daz Library and selecte the junk I want. Makes no sense that the search bar shows it there, but Daz itself isn't showing anything of the sort.
Help Needed Cannot Find DAZ "Data" fileI'm having a goofy issue. Tried to add something to a figure.
Couldn't find it.
Did a search which said what I wanted is in My Daz Library/Data File
Search said File is there.
My Daz Library - DAZ/Poser anyplace else - Folder is NOT there.
So, apparently The "Data" File in My Daz Library both IS and IS NOT there at the same time.
Please see picture. Is there any way I can get the files I need to add to my character?Deeply confused. Thanks.

Has the hardware caught up to the software in Daz Studio? One simple example of collision detection. By setting the collision detection higher, any graphics card struggles with the task. This is just one example of hardware unable to keep up with the demands of 3D art.

I am not saying that collision detection does not work, I am just saying that the GPU cannot handle multiple objects when they touch.
And oh how it struggles with strand based hair...

What does that have to do with hardware abilities? When an item "explodes" like that it is because energy was being pumped in faster than the algorithm could diffuse it away, it means the settings need adjusting (assuming it isn't a mesh bug).
Here Richard is what it has to do with hardware...
Copilot:
Yes, hardware limitations can contribute to dForce explosions in Daz Studio, especially when handling complex collisions. If your system struggles to process the simulation, you might see erratic behavior like mesh explosions or extreme distortions.
Here are some hardware-related factors that could cause issues:
-
Insufficient RAM: dForce simulations can be memory-intensive. If your system runs out of RAM, calculations may become unstable.
Well, insufficient RAM is a potential issue with anything - though I can't say it has seriously affected me, with an 11GB GPU (and it is GPU RAM that matters).
-
CPU Bottlenecks: Since dForce primarily relies on the CPU, a slower processor or one with fewer cores may struggle with complex cloth interactions.
-
GPU Compatibility Issues: While dForce uses OpenCL, many users report that it defaults to the CPU even when a compatible GPU is available. If your GPU isn't properly utilized, simulations may take longer or behave unpredictably.
I suppose it is something that CoPilot is consistently wrong - see my comments above on the CPU default claims.
-
Overloaded Scene Complexity: Too many objects in the scene can overwhelm the system, leading to calculation errors.
While true, I don't think it leads to explosions as such - that is more likely to be unexpected intersections or interactions.
A good workaround is to reduce simulation complexity—try lowering the number of collision objects, simplifying the cloth geometry, or adjusting simulation settings like subframe interpolation. Also, ensuring your drivers are up to date can help with stability.
Giving the simulation more granularity (more sub-frames etc.) generally helps, as long as memory isn't exhausted (and this may be system memory rather than GPU - I am not sure where previous stages in th calculation are stoed).
Comment: Overloaded Scene Complexity (like, more than two or three) lol
I am not saying Dforce is not awesome Richard, I love dforce and use it in nearly every scene... But, hardware is very limited, especially with hair and animation where each frame needs simulation. That is a simple and quite evident fact that hardware is limited when it comes to dforce simulations and animation, especially with complex scenes..
My dispute was with the idea that hardware limitations cause explosions, not with the idea that there are limitations (and I would accept that once dForce goes off the rails it is often necessary to restart DS to give it a clean start, though I haven't deliberately caused an issue to see if that remians the case for a while)
Not only can it cause excplosions but it can cause windows to crash,
Last night I aksed Daz to make me a plane with
Geometry
Size 10
Divisions 5000
Subdivision Catmark and Daz sat there for about 15 minutes "thinking" and then, Windows crashed...
I would call this a mesh explosion.
This thread is about hardware, it's current state and the viability of new and upcoming options. The limitations are certainly there as demonstrated by a simple plane.
I will try adding the plane with my CPU renderer turned on.
As I said, my GPU was the only resource in windows that responded to my Gforce test.
I do not recall ever installing OpenCL but I have many games and graphic apps that may very well have installed it.
I will check. The irony is that copilot gets its information from the Daz Forums so to "think" that it is consistantly wrong is a testament to the reliability of this forum.
After reading millions of threads on the Daz forums, Copilot says "mesh explosions" can be caused by poor hardware calculations due to overload.
Cameras in DAZ Studio? ***Solved***I must be losing my mind. I thought we had cameras in DAZ Studio. But I can't find them.
I did a Google search. Many YouTube tutorials only show how to add a camera!
What's up?!
Daz Studio 6 Beta - version 6.26.2026.26903! (Updated September 29, 2026)Keyboard viewport movement appears broken. [or has some hidden setting I've not found in half an hour of searching]
ASDW is defaulted, good. But not only moves a single (defined in F3 options) set distance per key press. There is no way to press and hold to move. Would love to be corrected, but shouldn't this be default behaviour? I can't understand how this would have been a good design desicion.
A google search found one other person with this issue on the Alpha build - they were ordered to report it here and had their thread closed, but google isn't finding any other posts about keyboard movement broken... so...
Edit: Turns out you can still move about in the viewport with ASDW if you click focus on another screen.

Moved to Product Suggestions as it is not a Daz Studio application topic.
Have you tried doing a search for the product name plus site:www.daz3d.com - I have a feeling these have been asked about before, and that the answer was that they were custom assets created for the promo images and not finished up and made available as products in their own right.
I don't know the product's name--that's why I was asking here. I did try to use Google Lens to track them down but had no luck. Those were on the promo images, so it would make sense that they are not for sale.
However, if anyone knows of outfits like them, I would be very grateful for the information.

The Sky is Falling Complaint ThreadSurprise non-complaint: I knew I'd been invited to a symphony by my symphony buddy in June, but when I double checked the information he sent me, he mentioned he had two tickets for two symphonies, and one of them is this Sunday afternoon!

And when I checked the orchestra's schedule they'll be playing three of my favorite pieces (I hit the jackpot
): Again, this will be at Kleinhan's Music Hall in Buffalo. Program details.1) Hector Berlioz: Roman Carnival Overture https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYqItMmwwKE A quick exciting joyful piece often used as an introductory piece or an encore.
2) Camille Saint-Saëns: Piano Concerto #5 aka: "The Egyptian" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIGKl7eLzSU A beautifully flowing, and sometimes dynamic, piece. I love the 2nd movement where the European flavor of the 1st movement yields to bohemian, middle eastern or oriental ethnic themes that I envision as the composer having a relaxing early evening walk past the working people down along the river, before tiredly ascending a series of steps at the end of the movement, returning to the cosmopolitan European styles and the party-like grand finale of the 3rd movement. Love it.
The 2nd movement begins at 10:10, don't be afraid to turn up the volume during the tinkling quiet parts, especially around 18:30 they're beautifully done. Then as the sun goes down listen for the quiet ascending steps at 21:30, to leave the work-a-day people behind and enter the 3rd movement's spirited party at 22:00. Let the fullness and joy of the 3rd movement fill you and carry you away.
3) Felix Mendelssohn: Symphony #4 aka: "The Italian" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HX_jF1_Tgc Rapid fire exhuberance from the boy genius, especially the 1st and 4th movements.

Symphony buddy takes care of the tickets & transportation and I take care of the intermission champagne and evening meal on the way back from Buffalo. Good deal.
Wheee..., I get to see a little more of the world outside of the boondocks around me.

https://www.daz3d.com/storm-shelter - on the plains many started with homes in the ground. Helped with surviving tornados and weather.
https://www.daz3d.com/woodland-place - mountain areas with forests had trees to fell and this could stretch across from the SE US to Rockies to Pacific NW. Search your Runtime for 'wood' or 'cabin' to see what you have already.
https://www.daz3d.com/wild-west-outhouse - no home would be without this necessary item in the backyard. Some areas of the US still have to use it.
https://www.daz3d.com/victorian-house - an older model but any Victorian house was being built in towns/cities in the West. Other styles, like the Painted Ladies of San Francisco are still in use and much loved. Families who made it rich in the Gold mines wanted to flaunt it.
Furniture for those homes, my father's family homesteaded in Iowa and many pieces like reflected below have been passed down to our current generations:

Many families had land outside of the towns, so wagons and horses were musts, so https://www.daz3d.com/the-old-barn was the equivalent of our garages. The nice thing about this product is it has an aging morph.

Since I am asking questions, why have the gallery images not showing up anymore when looking at a product page? This what always so wonderful to help me purchase a product!!
There was a change to how the gallery works for some reason a few weeks ago, now direct links to gallery images are valid only for a limited time.
So the related pics that Daz deals add-on shows on product pages don't work anymore unfortunately (same for direct links to gallery images in the forum). The links to the gallery page behind those pics still work, so you can still click the empty thumbnails to see the gallery images.Mind Blown: Blender + AI via ComfyUI and Flux = 3D2IMGFSMCDesigns said:

Incidentally, I would dearly love to see AI haters weigh in on this. I am genuinely curious to read your thoughts.
Its not about hating AI, its about not caring about it. I like to create, if the AI is doing the creating then that just takes the fun and satisfaction out of the creative process. It seems everyone that acts like AI is so great, really does't enjoy the creative process, they really just want the "upvotes" or "follows" and they are just looking for a means to an end. For me the journey is the reason. I just like to create. I don't care if anyone sees it or likes it. So to me Daz is fine as is, with the exception I would like better animation tools. But I make do. But I will doodle on a napkin in a restaurant or in the sand with my toe. Someone is either creative or they are not. I think that is the real divide.
You seem to be under the misunderstanding that a person using AI isn't creating. It takes a lot of work, knowledge and some skill to get what you "actually" want out of AI. Most of my AI time is spent with AI inpainting which isn't any different than post work and that is more "creating" that loading some 3D models and hitting render IMO. DS is doing the creating for you, you are just controlling the input, which isn't any diffeent than AI doing the creating and you doing the inputing. I suggest that everyone at least try out AI before that make up their mind one way or the other.
There are huge differences between Daz Studio and an AI generator. DS requires the user to make conscious decisions about what they're using, what to move, what to actually tweak, while visually interpreting the (electronic) canvas in a full 3D space. You just don't do that with AI. There's not much of a creative process to AI when someone can search for prompts and constantly reroll their creations to hope for the best. I've used AI and there's no absolutely no sense of accomplish or satisfaction compared to anything I've done with DS. I have a lot of fun with my renders because I am actively manipulating everything, get my creative spark moments the longer I work on it, and enjoy how everything comes together. That's the human, creative process missing from AI. The render feature is nothing at all like a prompt. When you do your render, you're set on what you want to finalize. With AI, you just don't know what's going to happen. And you're always dependent on someone else's work, with no discipline or conscious decisions required to use it. With DS I am using everything intended to be used creatively, and purchased from an artist, too.
And to be clear, the aversion comes from mostly photo generation-postwork is something else altogether.

I am just happy the VWD bridge worked
I had to search on that ... "In von Willebrand disease (VWD), von Willebrand factor (VWF) acts like a bridge, connecting platelets to the damaged blood vessel wall (subendothelial matrix) to stop bleeding." Sounds like you should be really happy that worked ...

I miss Philemo, he would likely know why it won't work on my Win10 PC as he created it, Virtual World Dynamics itself works but Carrara won't load with the plugin added on Win10, it throws up an error in French (he is French)
Paper towel roll? Thanks. I own that product but a search in my content and in the store didn't help. Maybe the pa named it uniquelyCarrara Community Art Gallery - Show us your Renders!!!WendyLuvsCatz said:

I love it! Please share this news on the Blender Discussions forum thread.
And now, a few follow up remarks:
[1] I am cursing too ... because of the price I have to shell out to upgrade my NVidia card.
[2] Blender or Daz, AI or trad-3D ... I'm agnostic. Does it matter if the cat is black or white, so long as it catches mice?
[3] Lastly, for a forum that slaps down any talk of religion or politics, other forms of dispute gets a pass. "hate" and "love" (in bold) in the same breadth; the spectacle of people going after one another ... tsk, SMH. To be a wee bit dramatic here: this is the stuff Tennessee Williams, Victor Hugo or Dostoyevsky spun into tragic stories.

Cheers!

Not a product suggestion topic either!... this forum is full of what product was used in this etc. That's not product suggestions. It just means PA's need to be more explicit about the products being used in promo images and add that to their product pages. Otherwise 'actual' product suggestions just get lost. Maybe create a forum category just for such requests?
