Help Needed Cannot Find DAZ "Data" file
I'm having a goofy issue. Tried to add something to a figure.
Couldn't find it.
Did a search which said what I wanted is in My Daz Library/Data File
Search said File is there.
My Daz Library - DAZ/Poser anyplace else - Folder is NOT there.
So, apparently The "Data" File in My Daz Library both IS and IS NOT there at the same time.
Please see picture. Is there any way I can get the files I need to add to my character?
Deeply confused. Thanks.

The data and Runtime folders are hidden in the Content Library because they do not have user-facing files (for DS native content). What exactly is the issue you are having? Are you sure you are not trying to use an add-on of some kind without having the base product (which would have the files for the data folder) installed?
I'm trying to use a body stype that is in the DATA folder. Problem is, as in the picture, while my computer search function shows the DATA file Is there (In My Daz Library), going into My Daz Library - the folder is NOT there. - I don't know how this can be, but I need to somehow get into the DATA folder in My Daz Library and selecte the junk I want. Makes no sense that the search bar shows it there, but Daz itself isn't showing anything of the sort.
Read Richard's answer above your latest reply.
yea the way those types of shaping presets work is they won't have a file to click on.
They usually have a slider or button on the "Parameters" pane.
Load the character it's made for
Select the character on the "Scene" pane.
On the "Parameters" pane select "All" on the top left column.
On the top of the right side column is a search box if you know the name of the shape you can type that in there.
If not then you'll have to scroll down the list until you find it.
many, I dare say most if not all, 3rd party shape presets work like this.
very few will have a file to click on the add the shape to the character.
Okay, I'll work on it.
Thank all of you who replied. :) :)
Okay, Maybe *I'V* been asking the Wrong Question.
If "Data" (And "Runtime") files are not accessable then where did I put the files I dropped in via their correct folders like every other time? Better yet, How do I ACCESS these files to put something -Balloons- into DAZ.
My search says that the "Data" / "Runtime" files ARE there (Please see picture) ... Until they are not.
All I need is a bunch of balloons that you would give a kid at a birthday party or some such. Daz didn't seem to have anything so I went elsewhere, as usual. I found them and installed the files via drag drop as always. Then.............
I thank you all for trying.
Runtime and Data folder are not visible from inside Daz Studio, because there is no user facing files. They are used by the user facing files, or for morphs you can find dials in Parameters.
Data folder includes technical files only, eg the geometry of a DS model, or delta files for the model's morphs.
Runtime folder will contain the texture files for the model if it's in DS format. It will also contain all files related to an item in Poser format.
You don't load the files under "data" directly, they're used by .duf files which will enable you to load the full model, a scene with that model, apply some materials... Those "user facing files" are located in the other folders you have in your content library.
In your screenshot I see a folder with the path "My DAZ3D Library/Props/Props/EichhornArt/EA Balloons". There's most likely a .duf file there to load the balloons.
The "balloonV4" at the bottom of the list is in Poser format. You will find it in your content library under Poser formats, judging from the path there's apparently a file in a subfolder of the Props library.
It would help if you gave specific examples of things you have installed and can't now access.
If you want something from Daz3D that you can install with DIM and find easily in the Content Library or Smart Content try CGI Deco Balloons. It has a group of balloons like you want. See the product promos.
