DAZ Central vs. Just DAZ Studio?
Thanks, much appreciated. I thought I was having a stupid morning because I couldn't find just the DAZ program by itself. I guess they are really pushing DAZ central use hard so they buried the standalone program download on purpose. I don't like that kind of marketing.
DAZ Central vs. Just DAZ Studio? No, you can download it without Daz Central - it is just very hidden.
In your product library you should have Daz Studio 4 Pro https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-4-pro
And from your product library you can download it.
DAZ Central vs. Just DAZ Studio?Have not been on for a while. I'm runing DAZ Studio 4.15.0.2. I popped in to see what's available in terms of upgrade for Studio and am I correct in assuming that NOW you have to dowload DAZ central to get the program? Maybe I'm confused, but is there is no separate download for just the DAZ Studio program (because I don't need the content management help). I manage my own content my own way.
Nothing in Daz/Documents/bridges/daz to blenderI click on Scripts, then Daz to Blender and it asks me if I want to export gen, props or both, no other opetions other than those 3. I click accept and then go to where the files should be and all I see are 2 empty folders; exports and presets. So I uninstalled Blender to Daz and then reinstalled through Dazed Central. Same issue as before.

Where can I find the full download for the standalone install of 4.15? I am currently running 4.14 Beta and want to get rid of it and get back into the real world
It's "Download DAZ Studio for free" on the page https://daz3d.com. Do not replace the beta - you then have the choice of going back to it.
That link leads to DAZ Central

Let me add that this is no different than manually installing content, just that you're doing it with Shortcuts rather than actual files. The advantages are you are automating the product install process and the shortcuts are always updated as long as you update products with DIM or Daz Connect.
You're free to move and reorganize shortcuts using your computer os without breaking metadata. Since they are shortcuts and take little space, you're free to create multiple product shortcuts, such as typical product placement (environments, props, shaders, people) and also alternate folder structures such as Themes, or Bundles just by copying and pasting using your computer's operating system.
Agreed. I think we are both getting to the same result, just in a different path. Which path you take is entirely your preference. I am comfortable working at a command line prompt, I imagine most people would not be. Not using the DS supported organizer tools gives me a little peace of mind that they won't change in the future and render all that work moot.
I should also add that I install only through DIM and manual methods. So my method may not work with Connect / Central. I haven't tested those methods and I don't plan to.
I also only install two ways:
1. Permentantly installed items (i.e the items I use constantly).
2. Temporary installed items (i.e. the times I am only using for the current project). This keeps my overhead low and doesn't involve sorting through the 17k products I have in my library.

@daveso-confused Can you do a screen shot of the Lost and Found screen, then move it up to the next segment, take another and do it again, then again, until all are covered?
I may do it myself, as I have many with metadata and checked the My Daz 3D Library for files not showing up and still can't get them out of Lost and Found.
I think doing screenshots would be the only practical way. One thing, I do not have DS online at all, so nothing is updated. I was told that was the best way to keep my product installations intact and not totally mess up where things get installed. I only use DIM or manual for installing products. The overall product installation seems mess up to me overall in DS. It may be better to just get used to using Content Library and get rid of Smart Content totally. Not sure.
There is nothing you can get with on-line updates that you cannot get with DIM, including metadata updates. If it is updated, it is updated everywhere. If the installation seems messed up, then it is messed up. If someone deigns to correct it, it will get updated in DIM. You can do it yourself with something like Content Package Assist to make a new package laid out the way you want, and you would have to update the metadata yourself, at least for the paths. It all comes down to how much work you want to do now, versus how long you want to wait for someone else to do it.
Well, that is not exactly true. What you CAN get with an oline update is a fully messed-up SmaretContent database. E.g. the G8 Starter Essentials update for 8.1 DID install fine with DIM. Onec you logged on, the Starter Essentials were no longer there. The online update has messed up the metadata beyond recognition. The starter essentaikls were part of the G8 Male Pose Templates. I had a very inetersting conversation with support, and they confirmed that the server metadata was messed up. And it is not the only product that behaves "strange". I try to sty away from working online as good as I can.
I don't disagree. If the source is broken, there's nothing we can do about it. Errors can creep into any system, and hopefully they are recoverable. But, I never liked the idea of a central control for everything, so I have never even considered using Connect. The selling points were not enough to convince me otherwise.

DAZ 4.15.0.30 is working perfectly on my iMac now — except for the GOZ plugin. I tried both the new beta version and the version downloaded in D Central but it seems the plugin is still referencing the old dyld files throwing the same old error:

Look, I can't run this %&^*&%^%^%T CMS software. It's all been given firewall permission but I can't get Sudio to recognize PostGRE CMS which HAS BEEN INSTALLED. This happens EVERY %#$$ TIME I TRY TO INSTALL THE SOFTWARE! EVERY TIME. Daz Central crashes, probably because it's looking for a CMS IT CAN'T FIND. I have no access to ANY of my content as a result.
And I've done NOTHING WRONG in installing ANYTHING! NOTHING! I just let DIM do it. MY FIREWALL ISN'T BLOCKING ANYTHING!
Do you allow the postgreSQL server incoming connections?
I have full admin access to my iMac. There is NO permissions issue. THERE IS SOMETHING %&^^%%^ wrong with the &(*(^*^*^^ software.
That statement, sorry to say, just proves how increadible ignorant you are to how os security works on macOS. Having sudo-rights doesn't mean sqaut if your ~/Library/Application Support/ has the wrong access bits set.
libpq.a is GRAYED OUT when I try to add a firewall permission. And why do I have to do that anyway IF DAZ STUDIO HAS BEEN GIVEN FULL PERMISSION IN MY FIREWALL SETTINGS?
Where did nI say you sould enable that in the firewall, I mentioned that in combination of lipo for you to see that you do not have to wrong version as the libs are Mach-O universal binaries 32/64 bit.
I shouldn't have to be doing this. NONE OF IT. There isn't a single other piece of software that I've ever installed in my Mac which has come close to requiring these kinds of extraordinary flips and twists TO MAKE WORK! Nothing even comes close. NOTHING. I install them. They work. Period. Everything except DAZ &(*(*&^^ STUDIO
Studio is a very complex software, usually it works, if it doesn't, you have something strange in your system. First off, Install via DIM, not DAZ Central if you have the slightest problem.
This is INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING AND INFURIATING. I've submitted a tech support ticket but we all know it often takes weeks before they get back to you and sometimes weeks of back and forth in trying to resolve it, IF IT EVER GETS RESOLVED AT ALL! As it stands now, I'm batting about a 30% success rate in dealing with tech support in resolving problems.
The key to get good support is knowing how to describe your problem. It doesn't work, is not a good start.

pgAdmin is nothing you need to worry about, it has to be distributed together with postgreSQL. if you need pgadmin (trust me, you really really really don't), download pgadmin 4.
pgadmin is only a frontend GUI to the database, check the real stuff instead using lipo
xxxxx: totte$ lipo -info /Applications/DAZ\ 3D/PostgreSQL\ CMS/lib/libpq.a
Architectures in the fat file: /Applications/DAZ 3D/PostgreSQL CMS/lib/libpq.a are: i386 x86_64
I appreciate the rsponse but look at the attached images. Everything was done correctly but the wrong file was installed. CMS won't run and it's freezing Daz Central and keeping me from installing content to Studio.

Mac compatible Studio release is not working. I can get Studio to open but apparently a 32 bit version of PostGre is being installed and Big Sur won't run it. Daz Central is crashing as well. I hate Daz Central (for too many reasons to list here) and prefer to use DIM and when DIM downloads and installs PostGre, it installs the 32 bit version.
Mine downloaded the 64 bit version on my m1 iMac, if that helps to know that it can.

I am desperate, need your help pls :Login and Postgre SQL CMS issues on DAZ Studio 4.15 / Windows 10Hello everyone, after hours and hours facing the same problems I really need your help. Nothing works for me on Daz Studio 4.15 on my desktop PC running on windows 10 64bits meanwhile everything is fine on my Macbook with Daz 4.14.
First of all I've got the famous Postgre SQL CMS error message, I tried 5 times to uninstall everything related to Daz including Daz Studio itself, Daz Central and Daz Install Manager and reinstall it through Daz center and DIM, I deleted every files in the %Appdata%, ProgramFiles and x86 folders, I tried to change my password to a complex one (because I read somewhere that simple password could create security conflict), I've read the EULA and signed it, I reinstalled everything with the DIM, including the famous Postgre SQL, I did open a Firewall Port for PostgreSQL and everything related to Daz, I deleted the CMS folder and all its contents, reinstalled it, it built all the folders and files that had been missing, but there's nothing to do I still have this error message that prevents me to have an access to the assets I downloaded. And my second problem is that when I try to login to my account in Daz Studio, I've got a Login Failed error pop-up, while I'm sure that my ID and password are correct because these are the ones I'm using to login in Daz Central and the website. I'm completely lost and desperate and I just feel that there's a compatibilty issue between my OS or computer and Daz, like everything I tried has come to nothing. I hope someone, or a developper himself could help me here because I think the only thing that could solve my problems is a screen share or a phone conversation with a developper following my issues step by step but I guess this is not possible. Please hear me and help me I'm running out of ideas and I've been following every steps I've read on the support, youtube, reddit and different topics related to this subject. I've got the application on my PC but I just can't do anything of it. Thank you, best regards.

"Genesis 8" generally means anything that is compatible with G8, not just figures.
I do agree the store needs a massive overhaul, but people have been saying that for years, and, well...
They gave us Encrypted Daz Connect (DRM), which is no longer in use - but it still exits. They gave us Daz Central, a poor version of DIM imo. Both, seemed pointless to me.
The amount of folks saying better organisation of the the content, does seem to considerable, whatever that means. :)
Are you sure?
The amount of constant corruption in Connect installed content, could be explained if the (Connect) source files at DAZ were still encrypted
The files on the CDN are encrypted, to protect them, but they sre decrytped (against your account somehow) on download to leave plian (or rather, compressed plain) files on disc. Sometimes the process fails.

Cannot loginIf you installed the starter essentials through Install Manager or Daz Central then Daz Studio should not try to log in when you open a product, the fact that you do and that you are also having issues logging in at that point suggests some kind of security software issue/conflict. What is your operating system, and what security software are you using?
