What methods have you used in installing your content into DS? (DIM/DAZ Central/Manual installation/DAZ Connect inside DS)

It should show as an update, in Install Manager iof Daz Central or in Smart Content if you installed through DS, once released.

Something I learned in the recent Season Pass 2 tutorials was to make and use Billboards for background people and large props. As a newbie to GIMP it took me a bit. My thanks to a store tutorial by Linwelly that I finally went through. But that may help others who want to add in bits and bobs into US scenes. 

Regarding the issues that are being mentioned about double-loading with DIM, Daz Connect and Daz Central. Just don't do it. I have been working with Customer Service for over a year cleaning up two Daz computers and a total file mess I made by not understanding what I was doing. And I tested Daz Central when it was released on one computer and it destroyed my file structure, taking everything back to the C: drive, where there is little space left. Daz Central is poison. Stay off-line in Daz and let updates come in by DIM. And I recommend listening to barbult's advice. She has helped pretty much everyone who has had these issues with US not seeing the add-ons.

Hello - i recently bought a faerie pack from your site and downloaded DAZCentral + DAZ studio - 

I want ot preface im an artist so the only thing i need are the faerie poses - nothing else - so i downloaded all the essential packs from DAZCentral - 

i also checked the uppet Config destioantion thingy - i chose Base path location to Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Applications\Data\DAZ 3D

as i assume all the things are supposed to be there - but no DAZ studio does not open anything, like i said i just need the faerie poses - i don't really have

the time to learn this program - i just need it as a reference.

So the question is how do i open my faerie pack? It seems DAZ CENTRAL is kind of useless or not working properly - i tired to download

all the needed essential manually - but ofcourse the main essentials can not be downloaded - only through DAZ CENTRAL.

I know we all have seen this error message, basically it prevents your files from being displayed in Smart Content. I watched, watched, re watched the tutorial on the so called easy fix, however after the part where you "Process Metadate Que" and "Re Import Matadata " that is when it goes fudge cake on me. 

I do not get the log in as being in Daz Central with the studio version of 4.15 I do not have to log in, I see the content however it still does not display in the Smart Content. I am DOA and without the content one cannot create images, etc. I have watched the youtube video  from Tomasi   studios all day and even go step by step still I cannot display my files in Smart Content. Any more suggestions on how to get my files displayed.

Well sir thanks for the reply, I have digged into everything, but there are no updates and stuff.

However I can now confirm my genesis basic female mesh is wrong, can I somehow do a fresh reinstall of G8 package? That might work.

There is a morph loading with a defulat value of 1, which is not mixing with the other shapes. First check that there are no updates for your content (if you installed through Daz Central or Install Manager, or through Daz Studio itself, updates should be flagged).

They just disappeared. So I uninstalled them reinstalled them. From both Daz Central and DIM. Still not showing up in UltraScenery. Doing a complete reinstall of Daz with DIM. Just to see if that fixes it.

Smart Content is not smart. It relies on metadata and the CMS database, that database can become corrupted making Smart Content useless.  If you installed with DIM or Central all your content should still be available from the Content Library pane under either DAZ Studio Formats or Poser Formats.

I have to disagree with that statement. I think you were too quick to generalize. You know that some products do not work when installed with Daz Connect. A user may have a perfectly working product installed with Daz Central or DIM, but it they install it again with Daz Connect, the product stops working. I have had to help several UltraScenery addon users resolve exactly this issue. I am convinced that it is absolutely "deleterious" to install some products with Daz Connect.

Why would you want to use a different installer? There is no such thing as a "bundle installer"; a bundle consists of individual items and those individual items get assigned to your account as soon as you buy the bundle. After you get the items (heist environment, heist props, morphing masks, Goran HD and Ajisai) they can be installed using the methods available for them. Usually the Daz Install Manager ("DIM") or that new central stuff.

So basically... you buy a bundle, open whatever installer you normally use (DIM or Central) and then install all the newly available stuff.

Fair warning with bundles though: always check the prices of the individual items as well because sometimes the individual items  combined can cost less than the bundle.

When a new user starts with "Download Studio", they are lead to believe that they must use DAZ Central for any and all installations, and when they start DS, 'Smart' Content asks them to install stuff which they already have installed -> Automatic double installation of everything without the user being aware of it or even being warned about the consequences.

No, if the system is working anything that is already isntalled will open without needing to download the Connect version. If an installed product is not showing as installed then there is a problem - content directories not matching, comminication between the CMS and the applications, or something else.

It is so sad to read about the resulting problems every day.

I think that is something of an exaggeration.

What I meant is that you can't install or open the beta program itself with Daz Central.

You can still install the content with Daz Central and use it with the beta, just make sure that the directory where you installed your content is set as a content directory in the preferences of the beta.

Okay thanks i now found the Daz studio and i can open it. Its still the Beta. So if i cant use it with Daz Central, how do i get all my figures and stuff over there then?

What are your system details?

I have read and read and read... I have the Public beta version installed and i still cant open it.
When im try to Daz Central it just want to install daz studio i really dont know what to do now?
