Hair converter add-on for Blender
j cade, this may be asking a lot but is there any way you could share a blend file of your eye shaders? I cannot get mine to look anywhere near as good!
Its the same setup I posted the nodes in the other thread but here you go
Sclera/Iris and Cornea/EyeMoisture + bonus real simple skin
Things will be purple as all actual maps are stripped out
also worth oting a big part of how the cornea looks is using the cornea bulge morph - since refraction bends light relative to the surface, if the shape is wrong the light bends wrong. Using an iris depth morph (or, if you're going all out to the nth degree, some actual physical displacement on the eye) can also make a difference on the interaction with the light
Weird figure inversion. [solved myself]well, it's just my habbit, it doesn't do any harm to have good habbits and it isn't the problem.
How do you know those aren't the problem?
Normals, UV:s and materials are just excess baggage, but are you absolutely sure DS doesn't react to them at some level?
"Apply Modifiers"... Have you used modifiers in creating the morph? if not, it is better not to apply them to prevent any un-intended effects.so you're just wildy stabbing in the dark?
I fixed it anyway and it's nothing to do with the export settings. In my stress, totally different UI, not paying attention to the right bit and lack of sleep I'd made a mistake with the import settings.
Still hopping for a "skin" textures sethere we go again

every time i see a product like that it still anger me a lot the fact which we can get a "morph set of different type of characters from different places but we can't get a "skin set", which for me make 0 sense no one try to sell it unless daz have some sort of police which don't allows it, because even if you make let's say a set with 5 diferent skins it still not gonna means which "it represents all the "skins of peoples in the world" because the world skin tone variations is so big which would be impossible to have it, but again why we can get "morphs' or characters but we can't get skins???, again they will be pretty much like outfit texture variations.
to be clear i'm not complain over the released product, for me is good to have a morph set for diferent peoples but why we can't also release a "texture set too" like the outfits???, i really would love to know a "real and reasonable reason for that.
Well, a set of five distinct skins would be a rather large product, morphs are - for the most part, from what I know - somewhat less complex and so easier to bundle together like this.
yeah but when you think in the "other way" it make this product even more "expensive"because it pointless to have let's say a "african" character morph but i don't have a "african skin", this means which in order to make this bundle work, i would need to buy a "extra character" from the representation" to have the 'proper skin" to work on, which make the product pointless since i could just use this character "anyway unless i would want to have 2 characters from the same representation then using the same skin with different morphs, but still made the product more "expensive than it is", because i will need "extra characters for the skins" instead of just give some skin set.
and even if 5 is too much then give 3 like 3 skin variantions for african characters or 3 skin variations for asian something like that, again if for "fantasy characters like elfs or aliens you can have "multiple skins' why for "regular peoples it's soo complex, just make the same skin with slight different tone or one or other detail, don't need which each skin be a totall diferent skin.
V4 clothing is a nightmareIt's not difficult, but it is arcane, perhaps even slightly byzantine (until you know the process). You want to use the smooth modifier. That will help a lot with poke-through. Combined with judicious scaling, you can resolve bagginess and other fit problems. It's usually best to leave collision iterations at 1 and increase smoothing iterations as needed. Turn interactive update on to see the smoothing effect in real time. Push modifier can also help, but I find it gives strange results in some situations. This is the part where I provide screen shots with arrow diagrams to show you all the buttons to press, but I don't have anything like that ready just now. Other people do. I didn't invent this stuff. I found tuts on DA and youtube. I could provide links, but I don't have those handy, either. Sorry. I'll try to correct that soon.
The ultimate solution involves making a custom morph for the clothing in the desired pose. There are tutorials for doing that on YT; but that's likely way too involved for one-time or casual use.
Edit:
Oh look: There is one in the preceding post! Yes, the process is much the same regardless of figure generation.

"Apply Modifiers"... Have you used modifiers in creating the morph? if not, it is better not to apply them to prevent any un-intended effects.Weird figure inversion. [solved myself]When you are exporting an OBJ from Blender to DS in order to use that as a morph, you are only interested in the coordinates of the vertices, while keeping the number and the order of the vertices same.
No need for normals, UV:s and/or materials and the Apply Modifiers looks suspicious

pose not zeroing at all [solved-sort off]You can fix any ill-behaving morphs (non-zero default value) with this procedure;
1. Load your base figure or the developer version to an empty scene. ("Genesis 8 Basic Male/Female" or "Genesis 8 Male/Female Dev Load")
2. Select the figure
3. Select "Show Hidden properties" in the Parameters-Tab, drop down menu (right-click)
4. Zero the figure (Found in Parameters-Tab, drop down menu)
5. Memorize the figure (Found in Parameters-Tab, drop down menu)
6. File->Save As->Support Asset->Save Modified AssetsThis procedure will zero the default value in the ill-behaving morph/morphs, and while saving DS also shows you a list of the morphs it is changing.
Thanks, but, should that be memorize the figure then zero the figure? I fixed the demon skul morphs, whatever they're called, that way.
No, the idea is that you use the base figure with the zero pose - Then you "zero the figure" in order to change all the non-zero values to zero, then you memorize (=set as default) those zero values and use "Save modified assets" to save those values to the morphs that had non-zero default values => No more unwanted morphs activating with your characters.
V4 clothing is a nightmareWell for one thing V4 clothes don't adjust to all morphs automatically like Genesis ones do. If the clothes don't include explicit fit morphs for the morphs you used, you need to tell DS to transfer active V4 morphs to the clothes. It's an option in the menu in parameters tab.

Looking for Artist to Make Custom Lizard Head Morph for G8F [Commission]I'm looking for someone I can commission to make an anthro lizard head morph for the Genesis 8 Female figure.
Here's a link to a google document with all the details as well as links to reference images.
Also, before you suggest it, I've already tried the Lizard Head Morphs by biala on Renderosity. They were not very good, and way too toony than what I'm looking for.
If someone here is not able or willing to do it, could you at least point me in the right direction? Thanks! <3
Daz to Blender 2.9 then sculpt for morph [solved]Hi,
I just used Daz to Blender for the first time. It took me ages to get it to work. I'm now using Blender 2.9 but, I cannot work out how to go into sculpt mode. Maddening. I will just do this the old, manual way now but, I'd really like to be able to used Daz to Blender Morph for what it was, surely, intended for.
Thanks
Hair converter add-on for Blender@jeff_someone - Very nicely done. The hair transfer tool by @Cinus looks like it is working well. I think the eye reflections look great too! ;)
3D Universe Cartoon ChameleonOn the parameter tab, there is a "Tongue Catch" morph.
Move the dial and the mouth opens and the tongue comes out. Any setting past 36.7% the tongue retracks back into it's mouth. Now that is precise. How on earth did you know that?

eh.. just loaded him/her and checked the Parameters Tab.
3D Universe always includes lots of useful morphs in the Parameters tab in their animal creatures including full body poses!3D Universe Cartoon ChameleonOn the parameter tab, there is a "Tongue Catch" morph.

Sagan: A DAZ Studio to Blender Alembic ExporterOK, I feel your pain; I had my first run-in with geo shells exporting the Cobra Queen. It's quite confusing; it resulted in three objects: one for just the geograft part, one with the original part with the geograft in it, and a third part that looks nearly identical to the second part. And the materials were all mixed up.
I don't know what the difference between the second and third objects were, probably UVs, but they had the same material slots and I was actually able to texture both by exporting the textures, setting the nodes up manually, and renaming them with the script so it'll just work next time. After I figure out the HD/Geometry Editor bug, I'll modify Sagan to better name the objects and materials to make working with geografts easier until I can fully understand it.
But from my experience with this particular model, I am not at all sure that geografts work in a universally consistent manner. It would be difficult to get to work perfectly if there's flexibility in the way the PA can implement it from model to model.
My attraction to Sagan is that I can do most of my posing and scene setup in DAZ Studio (which is admittedly my comfort zone and will probably remain so) and then just send it over to Blender to render. Even better for animation. So having an identical figure complete with any grafts would be welcome. Otherwise I could transfer with Diffeo but there are so many options and things to understand with Diffeo that I have become a tad confused - especially with morphs and HD.
Morphs for slightly anthropomorphic charactersThis might be an alternet option to body morph sliders:

https://www.daz3d.com/mara-hd-for-caryn-8 & https://www.daz3d.com/gage-for-tobyn-8-hd-for-genesis-8-male These two products seem to have similar matching appearances like ears and eyes. I'm not sure If you can mix them with the splitter but seems like an interesting idea.

About outfits and shoes that don't go with themThis complaint has been brought up many of times. The dead horse has been beaten to a pulp.
Ofcourse, you have every right to complaint about it. Perhaps you can sway a few PAsanswer : the silent majority love those high heel shoes and have spoken with their wallets. It is very difficult to tell vendors to refuse the paying silent majority. The trend has nothing to do with what is correct or what is not.
partial solution : If you really like the package, just use it and leave out the ;inappropriate' shoes.
Render on!
Yeah, I can always count on someone to remind us that this conversation have been brought up in a sea of a thousand conversations...lol. I've even joined on a few of them.
That being said, I'm not trying to sway anyone. It was more of a forum outburst of jovial frustration. However, it would be nice that these shoes came with some sort of morph option to either flatten the heel or remove it entirely.
Just saying. :)
