That's most weekends in this household, in one way or another... these days mainly Genesis (I'm doing a rash of Genesis 1 and Genesis 3 characters at the moment adding in a dash of Smay's Chibi Boy and Chibi Girl to toon 'em up before feeding to the AI Gods).

  • [diffeomorphic] can you check the morphs used to create a character inside of blender

Usually yes, when you merge geografts the morphs are joined with the figure mesh and the baked list is updated with both. Below an example where I used F8 with the Victoria 8 shape plus breastacular with the fantasy 01 shape, the baked list provides both the figure and geograft morphs and their percentage. However you can try it yourself just importing a new figure and see how it works.

If you don't get the baked list for your old figures, then may be they were created with a old version of the importer where the baked list wasn't available yet. You can check it yourself installing the various versions you used and see if the baked list is available.

errata corrige. Sorry, I see now that the geograft morphs are not kept in the baked list after we merge rigs. Only the figure morphs are kept. I was confused by breastacular because it also creates morphs on the figure, which are kept. However, at least you should have the figure morphs in the baked list.

Usually yes, you're in luck. That is, if you imported the figure as dbz that's the common procedure, then you get a list of the baked morphs, that is used internally for the drivers, but also provide reference for the user. For example if you made your figure mixing other figures and/or using actor morphs in daz studio, then the baked list will provide the used morphs and their percentage. You access this list in the runtime panel, below an example for Victoria 9 where I also used some navel and nipple morphs.

    runtime > morphs > baked

thanks, really, that is genuinely very useful but does i work if the geographs have already been merged with the rest of the geometry. Because unfortunately I did and that baked section doesnt appear on my end

as I said, I have used my own 2D renders, customised to the way I wanted my character to look to train one, and only one LoRa ever, I hardly have touched it though because of the ambiguity of the EULA regarding 2D renders for one's own use and training, preferring to just modify by inpainting and animate the DAZ renders of that character using AI instead, I don't train LoRas on DAZ characters ie Victoria , Michael, PA characters etc

I can ask for clarification, but I would think that covers sharing the training results (as the license forbids sharing derivatives of the 3D models) rather than using AI to train for your own image production..

Please ask for clarification, @Richard Haseltine

I have not used Daz Studio renders in that way, but will be good to know for future plans.

This is quite a concern actually, and I'm glad it was brought up!

I had no idea they added that stuff about AI to the "Standard Licence".  Every Daz product I ever purchased was purchased believing the licence could not restrict what I do with rendered images of Daz content, and as far as I'm concerned, that right was always covered by default in the Standard Licence.

So just to be clear, are they saying I cannot use my renders of Daz Characters to train LoRAs of Daz content to use in my own AI generated movies for release commercially?  Or are they simply referring to restriction of inputting the raw Daz content files to an AI system to generate a derivative product?  If I render a character from different angles, then the result is a bunch of renders for which I own the copyright.

This by law would surely mean that I'm free to do whatever I like with my own renders?

Attached is Luxiana, the first custom character I rendered on my Linux install.  She's based on Victoria 9.  If she were an actual product she'd be "Luxiana for Victoria 9".  So are Daz saying that if I were to take this render of Luxiana, and multiple more from different angles, that I would not be permitted by Daz to use those renders to train my own LoRA for use in any AI assisted commercial movie I might make?

It would be great to have some clarification on this since it's kinda hard to tell from what I just read, whether such a thing would be prohibited.  Same with scenes, I expect to be able to input as many renders of a scene from as many angles as I wish, in order to train a LoRA for the same reason.

Also, Emmy's makeup in this promo!  I am still very confused about Genesis 9 products.  Does Emmy come with any makeup?  I this she just comes with a natural mat.

Since Victoria 9, Daz is using the same L.I.E. structure for their make-up products, making them usable with any character and they stopped including make-up with their core Genesis 9 characters.

PAs characters are still usually provided with make-up and their make-up may or may not use the same L.I.E. structure as Daz.

Ok, now that makes sense!!  AND...is a "Duh" moment for this old gal!!!  LOL

Sometimes, my brain just doesn't work like it did years ago :(

Quick Grab was changed on time, but the prices are a bit odd. The highest tier is usually bundles instead of single character, outfit etc. Not that $9.99/$4.99 are terrible prices for Victoria 9 considering the MSRP is $50-60. I may pick her up.

Also if anyone is a fan of PW Productions, they have a couple items in QG.

To my surprise, Quick Grab actually turned over Sunday evening, several hours before I expected it to.

The Quick Grab changed over at the right time. However, is the pricing correct? $9.99/$4.99 is usually bundles, but today it's items that are usually 1 or 2 tiers lower - hairs, clothing, shaders, alt shapes, environments, even https://www.daz3d.com/victoria-9-hd.

  • Easily identify products and assets in DAZ Studio .duf scene files (seeking feedback)

Awesome. Just tried it with one of my slow-to-load G8 character subsets and found FWSA Adaline HD for Victoria 7 Gen 3 morph mixed in.

EDIT: Damn, it's not my error, I don't even have Adaline in the parameters list. The character is based on Visual Fox's Victoria so I'm guessing that's where the morph is. Gonna have to live with it I guess, I'm too far into using the character to replace her now.

Thank you trying the tool out! You actually found something quite interesting.

I’m not too familiar with either product specifically, but if Visual Fox’s Victoria depends on or includes morph data from FWSA Adaline HD under the hood, the tool will pick that up as it scans all referenced assets in the scene file.

So in cases like this, it can surface morphs that aren’t directly visible in the Parameters panel but are still part of the underlying data.

Definitely something I’ll look into further to see if I can better distinguish between direct vs inherited morphs. Morphs that are shared across products will in most cases show up under the 'Exact product matches' > 'Possible matches' section.

  • G8 vs G8.1 -= [SOLVED]

    Elor said:

G8.1 is backward compatible with G8, with a couple of exceptions (off the top of my head: expressions, geoshells, but it's fixable in both cases, and some clothes strangely set) but G8.1 specific content will not work on G8.

In short, you can use Victoria 8 morph and materials on G8.1F but you can't use Victoria 8.1 morph and materials on G8F.

This is what I was doing wrong. I was doing wrong. I was doing it the opposite way and it wasn't working. Now I'm doing it the way that you recommended and it's working. Thank you.
