    Hi Totte,

    I first checked my file's structure and did fix a naming issue. Uninstalled, reinstalled, no joy.

    Then I opened up my MacBook Pro, and its version of D|S Beta and verified my permissions in 'files and folders'. (Even though I have the same version of Sequoia 15.1.1, they are laid out differently for the laptop and desktop versions. Not fun to match up.) 

    I have repeatedly tried touse Content Database Maintenance to re-import Metadata, but the tip files still show with that exclamation point image and say "Could not open file: File does not exist." Yet on the Content Library tab, everything is fine, tip files show up, product is able to be loaded into the screen, materials applied...

    A sample of my Help Log:

    But the files are there in Content Library and in my file structure as loaded by DIM. I have loaded all the mandatory files DIM comes up with initially, and I did a number last night of other 'essentials' and LAMH and many with 'Ultra' in the name, Measure Metrics, some of my plug-ins, and some other things I find useful to start with. Then I stopped when I found the issue with the tip files in Smart Content. But after each attempt to fix, I have uninstalled, reinstalled the files, making sure the PostreSQL CMS for Mac gets in there first. 

    Is there any other package that must be ran for Smart Content and I have missed it?

  • I want to lighten the scene, I am not sure how to do it properly

    I most of time just use Spotlights but it's up to your preferences.... Better avoid the lights being reflected on specular surfaces by tweaking the lights' postions, or you can use ghost lights if there're too many specular surfaces in the scene. But this scene is simple...

    As for the long sleeves on that jacket, it's by design... Do you have Mesh Grabber... or know some modeling software like Blender ?  For example, push the sleeves up by using Mesh Grabber... or tweak it in Blender and import the shape as a morph.

    You guys are amazing. All materials were black with 4.2.1 but I can now see the filatoon shader working in Blender after installing development version of Diffeo.

    Just quick question, I turned off all lighting sources with sphere mesh totally black in Eevee, but the filatoon character was still lighted. Would you give any hint to control lighting for the filatoon character? Thanks again.

  • Show Us Your Bryce Renders Part 13

    Bunyip02, sorry, but the Space Station 1 OBP will not be imported into Bryce for me. Nothing happens when I click 'import' in the Objects library. Anyone else: did you succeed in importing it?

    I used one of Bunyip02's space ships with an example scene from the Deep Space 1 HDRI set. I modified the intensity and HDRI-effect, as well as the position of the sun and the other items to get this view.

  • Mac User - Need to export Daz model to Zbrush

    I got that to work more as a test case (but it needs some more tickets from users to trickle up priority list I guess.
    What happens is that the Daz GoZ bridge app does not run correctly and dies from missing libraries.

    If it is black it means you need to update, then import as usual the filatoon shader will be converted to eevee. Note that cycles can't render filatoon same as iray can't, so you need to render with eevee.

    Hi @Padone

    May I ask more details on importing the filatoon shader? When I imported a Filatoon character, color of the character is blackish. Is there anything I need to apply filatoon shader?

Set up a tree structure to suit your needs in parallel to the Default Categories. You can add other scattered folders to the new category from any place you want, as many times as you want. Say you have a clothing product, with materials and utilities. It also has some props in another folder, maybe some poses in yet another folder (Poser-style layout). You can reference all the other folders under the main Custom Category to have it all in one place. Smart Content will see everything under that folder with Context filtering off. Content type and compatibility is at the mercy of the metadata quality.

  • Mac User - Need to export Daz model to Zbrush

    Are there any Mac users who successfully using GoZ to send modified objects from ZBrush back to Daz?
    I can import my objects to Zbrush, but after modifying them, I try using GoZ to send them back to Daz, but I keep getting an error, "GoZBrush to DazStudio quit unexpectedly."

    I gave up years ago trying to figure this out, but I am ready to try again. Please help.

  • [Solved. Probably.] I guess this is a rigging question...?

    Hi John,
    let me add my few cents about what I have learned so far.
    I have experienced maybe the same "failor" that you have diskribed. See pic 1.
    I guess I made a mistake when importing the geometrie into DAZ Studio. (in the Figure Setup Tab)
    (I guess I used the wrong import values for the orientation of the mesh (-In your text above you wrote something similar).
    When I rigged my figure a did my weight maps everything worked more or less as ist should.
    But right from the start the Bounding Box was displaced..
    When I tested my figure, trying to turn it arround its lenght (arround the y axis) -the figures root bone was selected, the figure actually turned arround the the wrong axis (x-axis I think) instead.
    I took me a while to find out what went wrong... -your question here and the answers that you have got, have been a great help understanding the problem.
    Finally when I selected the root bome in the joint editor, everythin made sense. For the Orientation of the Z axis there was a value of -90°!!!!
    After I have corrected the Z orientation from -90° to 0°, the bounding box turned into the right position. See pic 2.
    You can see the same effect when you translate the start or the end of the root bone. The bounding box will follow ant turn into the rigt position.

    Maybe this explanation might be useful for someone triing his or her hands at rigging :-).
    I would like to read more about rigging and weight maping. -the documentation for both processes could be more detailed :-)

  • Diffeo import error

    Hi Padone,
    I've installed Diffeomorphic-import_daz-180fb1071a0a and I'm still getting this error on import.
    Looks like it was posted 2 days ago, so I'm not sure that I've got the latest commit.

    I've tried importing this asset with "Unmorphed Transformed" mesh fitting instead of dbz, and I don't get this import error.
    Haven't tried that before updating Diffeo (new to Blender), so maybe the 180fb1071a0a commit fixed that import error.

  • diffeo simulation tool, softbody + cloth will occur distortion

    I easy import a G9 character, add some facs morph and jCMs. if I only add softbody or make cloth simulation respectively, softbody effect or cloth simulation works well. If I both add two simulations, cloth simulation seem nice but the figure's chest will appear distorted.  use Diffeo 4.2.1 and blender 4.0

  • Copying Character File(s) from one folder to another, keeping the metadata?

    If you Copy / Cut user facing files coming from a Product from Daz3d store, metadata can be reserved as they're Vendor's metadata. However if you want to do so with the user facing files that you saved, like a Character Preset as you mentioned, metadata cannot be reserved after Copy / Cut.... you have to add metadata by using Edit Metadata action, from RMB-CLICK menu.

  • Copying Character File(s) from one folder to another, keeping the metadata?

    As the title indicates, is there a method to moving/saving a character from one folder to another while keeping the character file's metadata?
    I can copy/move a character (my own morphs) from one folder - Characters/MyStuff - to another folder - Characters/MyStuff/Coolstuff.  In doing so, however, it "loses" the Actor tag, and any other tags, and metadata.

    Is there an easier way to transfer/move that character from its original folder to the new one without going through loading the character and resaving it to the new folder?
