The horse 2 was a sad piece of work. No working tack and bridle and stirrups almost impossible to use. It was like making Victoria whose bra doesn't fit properly.

Evenly sized quads for SubD has got to be one of the stupidest things said in this forum. And this comment has apparently been said by the creator of the G3F mesh.

 

Yep, I said that. And yes, I've modelled every base mesh since Victoria 4. Evenly spaced quads are for sculpting, so you avoid rectangular polygons - which artifact when sculpted across because of the detail scale change - which most modelers/sculptors know.

More goals are balanced with the G3 mesh - even quads, fewer direction changes, smaller polygon footprint, and better distribution. I design the models for the tech at hand and the usage goals. I could go through each of the choices one by one, but that wouldn't convince anyone who doesn't like them.

Thanks larsmidnatt. So it sounds like its a case of trying to find the HD morph that is most likely to fit well with Ysabeau. Probably Stephanie 6, Olympia 6 or Victoria 6 then. Shame there weren't any Giselle 6 HD morphs.

What I'd really like is something that shows up the pores in the skin etc, so that it doesn't look completely smooth. But I get the feeling that thats controlled more by textures than by HD morphs.

I've heard some say that hey had some HD morphs that did that, but really a good skin bump/displacement map is typically where I get those details.  However it's not impossible an HD morph could help however I would expect for that to be the case it would have to be really dense and likely kill my computer. I don't think HD sub-D of 3 would be enough but I could be wrong. Sub-D of 4 is too much for my system to handle. I don't think with Sub-D of 3 I have seen any pore details with any of the HD morphs I have used.

Quick question - was there ever such a thing as Ysabeau 6 HD? I don't think so from what I can see but I might be wrong.

If not, is it possible to use Victoria 6 HD somehow to dial the HD features into Ysabeau's shape and textures? Or would that not look good?

ok so nowdays just about anything and everything is being turned into a movie including boardgames battleship, maze runner, think there's one based on monopoly and there was some youtube parody movies on The Sims games. Now if there was a life action or animated  one based on the Daz characters Aiko, Michael, Victoria, The Freak, Stephanie and the rest what sort of movie do you think it would be action, scifi, mix of genres and what sort of characters would all the various characters be. Think Aiko would be some sort of sword girl maybe assasian, Freak maybe a mob boss or at least a heavy maybe he can morph into something monstous, even the dragons could be some sort of dragon human hybrid something like Retile from Mortal Kombat along with Reptillian and Minotaur. The new Karren and Scott some sort of specilised agents with or without super powers. And Darius and Monique they'd have magicall powers that image of Darius on his pro bundle makes me think of Dragonball Z. Giselle makes me think of Wasp

Daz or somebody else did it for Daz did a bunch of promo mini movies to promote the super suit wouldn't mind seeing them do some new ones with the new stuff how about Daz be great promo to entice newbies you could even promote your newest program product Morph 3D

Hair, if it's prop hair, can probably be used with a bit of scaling and repositioning. Figure hair may be adaptable this way.

Clothes and other conformers can be used, but it's a multi-step process - take Victorai 4 clothing and AutoFit to Genesis, save as a figure asset; take Genesis version and AutoFit to Genesis 2 Female, save as a figure asset; take Genesis 2 Female version adn Auto Fit to Genesis 3 Female. Obviosuly there's likely to be some quality lost at each stage. If you buy the Victoria 4 shape for Genesis 2 Female you can cut out one step, if you buy the third generation iconic shapes you can reach back to items for those figues. Edit: oops, I was forgetting Wear Them All was available.

There are ways to transfer maps ( http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/59665/tutorial-converting-textures-from-gen2-to-gen3#latest ) and morphs (using the Transfer utility) but not dedicated tools yet.

Sorry if this is a repeated question, but I've been running around the forums and couldn't find what I was looking for.  I see a lot of content for Victoria 4 and 4.2 all over the shop, but I've got a Victoria 7.  Can the V7 use V4's props, poses, and accessories or does V7 require its own?  I know textures don't transfer well, if at all, so there are a few more purchases I'll be making.  I did see a hairstyle for Aiko 3 that I wanted to use on a G2F or Aiko 6 pose, but I'm not sure it would work.  I would assume the later model could use the earlier model's extras with a little help from the auto-fit utility in DS, but I'd rather know for certain before an assumption comes back to bite me in a sensitive place.

There's a couple things in my cart right now. I really like the Attica armor for G3F even if I also really like skimp wear and impractical armors.

That being said, if Teen Jose 7 or Michael 7 comes out, then I'm probably getting the Pro bundle. Well, I'm definitely getting the Michael 7 Pro bundle just to see what the genitalia looks like after seeing how different (in a good way) Daz made Victoria 7's genital prop compared to the previous generation.

I need to put "Victoria 4 Muscle Maps" on "Genesis 2 Female" so I used

I changed the "UV Set" to put the "Victoria 4 Muscle Maps" on "Genesis 2 Female" succeed finally

Do not use this: "V4 Skins Auto Converter for Genesis 2 Female" ... you do not need to here.

The first product ["Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female"] gives G2F the V4 uvmap option.

You may have to "manually load" the V4 textures to G2F the first time, then save a new preset to load it the next time.

SimonWM's promos are using the V4/M4 muscle maps on the G2 figures.

Last time I saw fits for a character not released, there was somewhere around a week between; not really an indication, but it certainly seems 'she' is the next female. There is a vocal minority wanting Michael, but how large a percentage is that truly? I'll likely buy soon after, but I may wait until I see how the renders, and posing appear before comminting, as G2M fits my needs currently.

Hair fits are custom morphs for a hair prop/figure originally designed for one figure to allow it to fit on a different figure. For instance, If i have a hair set for Victoria 2 (a really old generation figure) and want to fit that hair on Kids 4, I would use a Kids 4 hair fit for that hair in order to fit the hair to K4.

Genesis hair doesn't normally autifit to Dawn or Dusk. Those are third party figures and aren't set up with Genesis clones for Autofit. Thus, the need for Hair Fits to fit Genesis hair to Dusk and Dawn.

Some of those go all the way back to victoria 1 , thats around 15 years or so old, so you might get them to work if you parent them to your characters head instead of auto-fitting them.

The number of morphs will depend on the hair, not all of them will have morphs.

I am looking for a little help deducing what may have caused an issue I am having and how to correct it.

My G3F has recently stopped showing some of my options for my clones. It will allow me to pick the clone character (i.e. Genesis 2 of Victoria 4) just fine, but none of the options for what kind of clothing it is (i.e. shirt, short hair, full body, etc.)  have been showing recently. I know it was working fine after I had installed Sickleyield's Ultra Templates for Genesis3 Females and Wear Them All - Autofitting Clones and Clothing Smoothers for Genesis 3 Female(s) from Valzheimer, because I had been using some of the new clothing options for dresses with bones from the products and such. I have included a snip that shows the autofit where it can select the clone but not the clothing style (clothing type is greyed and defaulted to none)

I have tried moving some of the G3F data folders and doing uninstall reinstalls of G3 essentials. Anyone have ideas what the problem or solution may be?

Here's a possibly interesting topic and it might help out the Daz marketing team a little as well.

This is assuming you don't have tons of money and just buy everything the instant it comes out, of course. You all probably have massive wishlists like me, so it might give Daz an idea of what we've currently got our collective eye on. For me I think its going to be Victoria 7 pro bundle and then all the morphs/Zev0 stuff etc I need, once I feel they've hit the right price. Its time to make the step up I think.

Edit: I'm also saving for a GTX 970 as well, to make Iray go faster!

No question.... Michael 7 Pro Package         I know it's not too far away as they already offered a discount on it if you bought some other Gen 2 male...... For Daz to delay too long would cause them book keeping nigtmares if they scew up all the people who too advantage of the offer.
