  • Daz Studio 2025 ALPHA - version 6.25.2025.35308! (Updated December 19, 2025)

Do bear in mind that we do not yet know how plug-ins will be updated - some may well require a full new version, with or without an upgrade price, but others may not f the conversion process is not to painful. The same is true of scripts, though some PAs have said they do intend to offer free updates in at least some cases.

You can always do set-up in DS 4, with all your tools, then open the scene file in DS 2025 solely to render - the only potential issue is needing to bake Mesh Grabber modifiers down to morphs (if you are not a Premer member, Geometry Sculptor in DS 2025 will import Mesh Grabber modifiers from DS 4).

  • DAZ Studio crash after Windows update

    Bella said:

Unfortunately I’m not confident handling GPU drivers myself, so I’ll bring the PC to the shop where I bought it and have them check and fix the NVIDIA driver.

I’ll update here once I know more.

I’ll also check if Windows has any pending updates, but I think having the driver checked professionally is the safest option for me.

Out of curiosity, how did you handle it on your side? Were you able to keep using DAZ after that?

Thanks for the explanation, that makes sense.

I’ll have the GPU driver checked. Thanks for your help!

Check your GPU driver, sometimes Windows updates replace them by a bare-bones generic GPU driver which doesn't support any advanced features.

I've been unable to get it to work despite rolling back drivers.   will be interested to see if what you do works

I actually have an older version of Daz 4.10 that works just fine.  I also have The Alpha version as I just built a machine that has a 5060 card in it.  So I can run my scripts on the older version and render in the new.   I work a second job during tax season helping my sister in law with her business so I don't have much time to fiddle at the moment lol.

The NVIDIA driver package has an option to do a "Clean Installation" when you run it.  I'd check that box before I go running third party tools to nuke it.

Thanks  I will look for that when I am ready to do it.  Right now I am running ds4.10 and the Alpha.  I tried uninstalling the update to windows and it won't let me.  I will be working on the drivers at a later date because I work a second job during tax season helping my sister in law do taxes.  4.10 works just fine so I can run my scripts there and render in Alpha if need be.

  • Anyone have Poser 14 yet?

    WandW said:

I never got past Poser 11; Genesis 2 was my go-to figure via the DSON importer, which was not updated with modern python scripts, so I never upgraded Poser.  I with DAZ had open-sourced th eimporter as they did with some of the other software bridges...

I did advance to Poser 12 & 13. Currently using vers 13 only because my old computer died and when I did the rebuild I put in only the latest version (btw, I fortunately had a good backup of all my Runtimes, so the rebuild wasn't too painful).

HOWEVER, I have given them ages to update DSON and they haven't. So, my goal is to take the time to reinstall Poser 11 with DSON so I can access my Genesis figures and associated props, poses and expressions.

25 days. I'm getting jittery, shaking, cold sweats. Other than a few Daz+ items, overall the selections in those 25 days are just not in my interest range. Makes not spending a lot easier for sure. Awaiting the new Quick Grabs tomorrow.

But are you actually rendering anything? Or just going through shopping withdrawal? ;) (On a more serious note, congrats! I don't know if I ever went so long without a purchase.)

Mostly withdrawal crying  I have actually been doing some scenes, trying different products, getting somewhat frustrated as all I seem to be able to do are portrait type renders. I need to get back to where I was way back in Poser days, rekindle that creative enthusiasm. When it was all new. I have the products, just need to fire up myimagination. What's interesting about that, every product I buy comes with a use, a scene, in mind. For whatever reason, once in my runtime it just sort of flies away. Anyway, this is getting out of the realm of sales, which sooner or later, there will be another one.

What you're describing happens to me, too; in that way, the shopping somehow manages to strangle the actual creativity. Only reasonably good explanation (just FYI) I've found so far is that our friend imagination is actually a rather lazy guy; he wants to play but is not so keen on the hard work that usually needs to follow. If it fires up in a shopping process and then you go ahead and buy the thing it composed, say, a render in your head about, then it'll be quite happy to accept the buying as the finishing of the whole process. Because it did all the imagining, didn't it? So it can take the rest of the day off, no? ... Sorta like that is how it works, I think.

I think a big part of it is that there's a lot regurgitation of similar products comes with every new figure base so a lot of what's in the store isn't really all that "new" perception-wise... Coupled that with the fact that a lot of the tools, scripts, utilities, etc. a lot of us use haven't been duplicated yet, while the tricks required for using the newer stuff often requires a different mental process (example: working with dforce cothing and hair versus conforming.)  It all gets away from the fun.  What you might want to try is to go back to an earlier figure base, as I spent a good bit of time and money trying to integrate G9 into my process and oten found it grueling due to all the quirks and issues with that system, but when I go back to working with G3 and G8 I can just let loose, go by instinct, and spend more time being creative.

I'm pretty sure even V4 seemed overall to be pretty darn good. Yeah, its like each generation takes away some of the excitement..its all great one the first day, but then you realizze a lot of your workflow has changed, and you end up dealing with that instead of doing something productive. I'm also thinking I was more creative using Poser than DS. I liked the interface a lot overall.

As a figure V4 WAS damned good.  Better than a lot of the things about Genesis and Genesis 2 in a lot of repects, really, but autofit was a tremendous time saver and the ease of dial spinning new characters was a strong counterargument to V4's superior posing... hence the reason the entire userbase split into opposing factions,  Really, it wasn't until iray and Genesis 3 that I'd argue that a Genesis figure was substantially outperfoming V4, and even then we still had to wait for user frriendly dynamic cloth and hair solutions onb a par with what Poser had already had for a decade...

    The Drive-Thru Medieval experience

After the failure with the Happy Train, entertainment entrepreneur Remigio Fernandes bought an old medieval castle and created  his drive-thru medieval experience. The problem was that the live action actors dropped their weapons, and sometime fell themselves, damaging cars and visitors, so the insurance company close down the establishment.

  • Anatomy / Daz Alpha

The script for copying materials needs to be updated to support the new scripting function calls in Daz Alpha 2025.

These scripts are encrypted. So the creator/author of these products will need to update them.

They will not update them until after Daz Alpha 2025 moves into Beta.

  • [Coming Soon] Look At Me III [Commercial]

Look At Me III is a major upgrade to the popular Look At Me II Pose Control, offering a suite of scripts that let you precisely control your characters’ eye, head, chest, and abdomen movements for natural, expressive poses. With Look At Me III, you can quickly orient selected figures to face any target in your scene—such as the viewport, a specific node, or even each other—making posing for renders and animations both fast and intuitive. Fine-tune each movement for realistic results, whether you’re working with humans, animals, or fantasy creatures.

Designed to work out of the box with nearly any character or figure—from Victoria 4 to Genesis 9, Horse 2 to Dragon 3—Look At Me III now lets you pose any character type. You can even assign sliders to different bones for maximum flexibility.

    •  Five Custom Scripts for controlling where your characters look:
      • Look at Camera III: Direct eyes, head/neck, chest, and abdomen toward the active viewport camera. Supports multiple characters simultaneously.
      • Look at That III: Make characters look at the last selected node—on themselves or any object in the scene. Works with multiple characters.
      • Look at Each Other III: Pose two figures to gaze into each other’s eyes, with individual control for each. New options let you choose which eye to target.
      • Look into My Eyes III: Selected figures look into the eyes of the last figure chosen (who remains unposed). Supports multiple characters.
      • NEW! Look at Geometry III: Characters can now look at a specific vertex on any node in the scene. Works with multiple figures.
    • Universal Compatibility: Works out of the box with almost any character or figure.
    • Expandable: Easily extend scripts to support new character types and custom bone names.
    • 99 Levels of Undo/Redo: Experiment freely with poses.
    • Daz Studio 2026 Support: Fully compatible with the latest version.
    • Faster, More Intuitive Workflow: Improved performance and usability.
    • Preview Camera: Get a precise overview of your pose before applying it.
    • Automatic Settings: Your preferences are saved and restored for convenience.

No poses are included with the package.

This is the best cat-like character. How can I apply the osodreamers-felinefolk model to G8.1? Unlike other G8 characters, it doesn't directly overwrite the G8.1 base figure; instead, it creates a completely new G8 figure.

I tried applying the felinefolk shape and material to the G8.1 base figure, but the fur is problematic. Only the limbs and head have fur, while the torso doesn't.

Additionally, I suggest that the new product could be made into a "Dragonborn" , preferably an Eastern-style one, like Shenron from Dragon Ball, or a raccoon man.

G8 and G8.1 use different UV maps. Hence, the fur doesn't follow act decently on G8.1.
I recommend finding a product for 8.1 has fur and applying felinefolk on that.

Genesis 8.1 has the Genesis 8 UV set as well as its own, however the surface names are different - most presets DS will auto-transfer but scripts and other data will require some copy/paste or other manual adjustments

I know, AsuCafe was complaining about the fur that came with felinefolk not matching G8.1. Which it doesn't, because it only has G8 surfaces.

Yes, with a qualification. DS 4 has both an SDK (for plug-ins, which is what this would probably need) and scripts. However, DS 2025/6 does not yet have an SDK (work on it is listed in the change log, but it is unlikely to be released until the new DS itself is in a stable state) and the scripting language has had some significant chnages dues to the change in Qt framework version https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/9137806/#Comment_9137806

Anyone else having issues with Ultra Scenery not appearing in Daz 2025 public build? No script, nothing and if you load an old scene the land form appears, but no foliage even when rendered. Has there been an update? I know there were some issues with older scripts not working in Daz 2025....

Many scripts and all plugins (as I understand it) will break in DS 6. And if they get updated it most likely will not be untill DS 6 is in beta, to avoid having to redo some changes again.

And whether the update will be free or cost extra is up to the PAs. There are some scripts that will not be updated as the PA is no longer active.

I've already made my mind up to not upgrade. Probably not even the next 4.xx as well. As long as what I already have works. If it stops working, I will do without.

And for crashing scripts, as I said before, that is most of the time ( what I have analyzed so far ), a problem with Rosetta2 emulator emulating a JS engine running JS with Qt signal and slots calls,
Even loading an M4 ( causing the PowerLoader to activate) cashes, if Rosetta2 is unstable.
Usually I run a script I know crashes with an unstable Rosetta2 as soon as I've started DS, then when it doesnt crash, after a few startups, I have a stable DS that runs.

I've never seen such an issue before... even if you didn't select the character, the genital figure could've been loaded into the scene but just not fitted to the character ~~

With the character selected, make sure you load the genital wearable preset... not any material preset or scripts.

What is a genital plugin ?  Have you checked DS log ?

Thank you, I was afraid that that was what it was. I'm trying to get a book cover done that uses USX in the background, (And has some VBD clouds, etc) and things are grinding to a halt in 4.24 so I was hoping 2025A would work. Well, back to the drawing board. Render each piece separately and then composite.

Scripts and plugins are not expected to work yet in the DS 2025 Alpha. UltraScenery is just one of many that don't work. DS 2025 is still evolving too much for PAs to finalize any script updates, I am told.
