Free Items not free if you use a coupon

I have V7 and M7 pro bundles in the cart and a few other DO's, to a total of 68 dollars. I threw in the 3 "free items" and the price stayed the same (I don't particularly want encrypted content, but if it is free so I can hardly complain). I then applied my DO PC+ 6$ off coupon and the price dropped by less than 4 dollars, rather than the expected 6. I assume that is because the "free" items are taking a share of the coupon reduction.

I think I can get round the issue by breaking the purchase into two smaller ones, but it seems rather odd.

    The DO coupon will apply to new releases. If you haven't made the purchase yet and if you still have your PA coupon, use it instead. You'll see your total drop the full $6. (I know, because I used it today, getting M7 Pro and a few other items on my wishlist, along with the 3 free items.)

    I wanted the G3M Head and Body morphs + expressions as well M7/V7 pro (that I bought with the free items), so I got those in a separate order using the coupon, only 3 dollars each, quite a bargain.
