I'm going to replace this image with one that doesn't have the strap cutting into her (it's what Jaki is referring to in a later post.)
By the way, Ireland Hair does NOT have that kink in the other side, it is smooth. So now I give it a thumbs up after seeing it. I'll turn Gia around and render it for you. Back in a few minutes and will put it in this post.
And one with two spotlights added, and a softer, chilling-out Gia. I kept the same settings as the other renders though, still have to test a few more characters. This one is 1000 pixels if you want to click enlarge, click again for a closeup. This shows you that hair out of the box, without smoothing. I wanted to show that the crinkle over the ear is when it is morphed to bend, and the straight hair isn't a result of smoothing it out. Those fringes on the bottom definitely need tweaking.
Thanks Novica. :)
I'm still on the fence. Like I mentioned before, J Cade's render almost pushed me over LOL but I doubt very much I have his skillz in art so don't think I could get the same result as what he did (she looked utterly fantastic).
I really dislike that hair, the more I see it. It kinda kinks/beds at the ends in a weird way.
Gia's black eyebrows are putting me off. I always feel you can kinda get away with any coloured hair when the eyebrows are lighter (light brown, reddish etc). But BLACK eyebrows like that, I think it may be harder to do certain hair colours.
Also, I KNOW it's just a quickie you did so this isnt' criticism, but the quiver thingy is cutting into her hip/side in the first pic. NO disrespect meant towards you at all, but I was curious whether the quiver strap has any morphs etc that can correct that? Or if it's rather "static" and will prove a problem in certain poses?
I'll do her in a T pose after I finish what I'm doing, and we'll check it out. One other thing before I forget, with the Ireland Hair, everyone needs to watch the hair on Gia suddenly going into the cheek as the cheeks balloon out during smiles. Back in a few.
If they do anything like that to you, just put the blame on me. Maybe it wasn't very wise of me to broacast this information - sorry.
Concerning Geneva Hair: This is really a great ponytail!
Checked it, it has adjust waist, shoulder, back etc. for the quiver strap. I'm doing a full length/turned to side so it can be better seen when fixed. Yep, I was definitely in a rush! This next one, I used a side spotlight and took some of the others out, but showed you the outfit top to bottom. I really like that the boots are FLAT, no heels. I didn't get the Pro Bundle for this outfit, won't ever use it, but I felt it showed her body the best.
Edit: One thing about that quiver strap- it doesn't have a curve morph over the chest, you'll have to get the shoulder down as far as you can, then ease the strap over that center breast piece. I couldn't translate the strap on the shoulder, it moved the actual quiver. I might be missing something but I went into Scene and broke that down, no go on translations for the strap itself. I know what you mean about the dark eyebrows, I tested her with Toulouse Hair. Go back up a few posts, that's where I put this image from below. I took out my boo-boo one. Thanks for pointing that out!)
One thing people will enjoy about Gia- she does the Expressions very well. Easy to pose with the facial expressions.
Thanks Novica! I didn't particularly care for that outfit anyway, but I was interested in a quiver.
No way. Daz QA looks at all the products and what they fit for and what is displayed on their sales pages (or at least they say they do?) and they decide when a product is released and with what other things. If information appears on a product page that they didn't want their it is 100% their own fault. It's not like anyone was sneaking out secret messages.
Fantasy ones would be IgnisSerpentus with Midnight Huntress, Fantasy Ranger is a pretty straightforward one, Ranger Props I think is closest to this one so far as the actual holder of the arrows and I love the bow put together from branches! So there's a wide variety. Do you have any of those?
Don't be sorry. I'm glad the PA's do that where we can no longer get Sneak Peak threads over at the PC Members or are even able ReadMe hunt over at the wiki page. So, it's really all on DAZ for trying to stop something that's really unstoppable to begin with.
With that said, I'm actually quite surprised to see a Teen Julie 7 shape in the queue. Seeing this tells me that DAZ is seriously looking to host both older and younger teen ranges in the same generation now (yes, Gen 6 did give us Belle & Brodie, but they weren't labled as "Young/Teen" or even categorized as "Real World" characters). If anything, this makes me wonder if we are getting a Belle & Brodie update and if Julie and Justin (assuming he's coming, too) will have a simultaneous release.
its not so much to see because of the darkness in this render
iso 300 thought
Yeah, I found that really interesting too. Each generation it seems as though all the figures are getting older overall:
- Gen4 had Kids
- Gen5 ditched them but had Young Teen Julie/Justin, who were ..I'd say 12ish?
- Gen6 had the older Teen Josie (who I thought was the replacement for Julie but I guess not) Jayden and then later Belle/Brodie who looked ..same / tiny bit younger than Josie/Jayden, maybe?
- Gen7 has Teen Josie returning (can't decide if she looks older or the same sort of age since the character looks so much better, but definitely late teens.)
But then adding Teen Julie back into the mix... she's no longer labelled Young but there also doesn't seem much point making her the same age as Josie? Picking a similar character with a similar name is confusing enough already. Or perhaps she'll still be much younger but just have lost the Young part without changing the figure too much.
I'm glad they are bringing back a past character, and that there is potential for a wider range of characters (that's lacking really badly right now) but having both Josie and Julie as similar teens in the same range is baffling. At least the four Victoria 7s all have very different names.
Very nice Ruphuss!
Hopefully the character wont have the same weird eyes as TJ7
Contratulations! How exciting! I don't know I kind of think creating a real human might just take precedent to creating your lovely models lol. Wishing you a safe and healthy rest of the pregnancy!
Not sure if it was this thread or another, but someone was commenting on the glossy lips and lack of make-up free promos so I thought I'd share this. Let me qualify the following by explaining most of what I do with DAZ is sort of like a monkey at a keyboard accidentally typing out the occassional intelligible words. It's an Iray render and I used the Surface Selection Tool to select the lips, in the Shader panel I turned Base mixing to 'Weighted', lowered the Glossy Weight to 0.00, and stuff like that and ended up with non-glossy lips. I'm sure someone who knows what they are doing could explain it better, but I got it to work by just changing stuff here, and changing stuff there. I've been having troubles with Gia 7's eyes though - they have fireflies no matter what lights or settings I use. Granted, I haven't tried overly hard to work it out, I just applied some Karen 7 eyes for now. This render was cut fairly short of finishing, with some post work in Photoshop.
Beautiful render you have there Gogger! She really reminds me of someone and I can't tell who. I'm just glad it's not Victoria : D
Couple pictures here. No make up, and very made up. The super dark eyebrows are bugging me too, but I like her. Geneva hair is the best thing ever, and April is a rockstar.
Is it just me or does every G3F Original have the Arabella nose all of a sudden?
I do hope that whoever made the promos for Gia is watching this thread and crying.
In what way? The cleft or something else?
Yeah, I'd never noticed it on any character (or person) before, but then Arabella distinctly had it, and then Olympia does too, and now Gia...
after a computer crash and losing everything finally got everything reinstalled with the new daz 4.9 didn't have choice there btw so just did a quick test with Gia 6 and Gia 7 no makeup and no other lights except for default
Interesting. I never noticed she didn't have both bundles... I did buy her bundled, though. The offer was too good to pass up. Just over $22 for seven products.
I put Gia on my wishlist... trying to fatten up my wallet for March Madness... so far, not doing a very good job of it.
I actually like that the new characters are based off the G3F or G3M base UVs. You don't have to buy the base figure for the character to work. It won't look the same, because the character uses the base figure morphs, but you can still use them. Rather handy when a character comes out at a ridiculously low price. And the more figures/characters you have, the more choices you have with for skin and eyes.
Congratulations!
There is a sweet side to this tough lady : )
That skin looks really nice. Are those custom settings and if so would you be willing to share them so I can study them?
