Loads into Carrara but needs adjustments.. The rocker needs resizing and the mane morphs don't load so it need to be deleted and the mane loaded again seperately..

    Thanks Hivewire ;-)

Very cute.  Is the squirrel a model or did you postwork him in?  I love that guy!!!

It's an obj model that I partially boned & textured in Carrara smiley

  • I've toyed with the idea of trying to design a generic digitigrade quadruped mesh that could be morphed into different kinds of quardrupeds. Sort of like a Genesis for quadrupeds. But I'm a little stuck trying to figure out what an average of  the majority digitigrade quadruped animal forms would actually look like. Probably something cow like. Would probably have to make it with paws instead of hooves and use geographs to give it proper hooves.

I had thoughts on that before. hrm.

I strongly suspect if you could come up with a morph to have a head connect to neck at the back rather than below you might be able to fake it with actual Genesis. And then come up with a UV mesh that allows for limbs that are generally longer, and with more forearm/less thigh.

I've made humanoid figures function mostly like quadrupeds through scaling, but the #1 problem is the dang neck.

Very roughly speaking, it seems that most quadrupeds would be divided into stuff like horses and cows, and then stuff like dogs and cats.

  • More as an exercise than anything else I once made a morph for Genesis that gave it a basic quadrupede form and then used that as a base to make a dog morph for Genesis. It was fun and weird and you can get some really creepy as hell results with the quadruped mesh and different head morphs.

Green forest horse is Daz Horse 2 with LAMH for mane and tail (even the 'horns' are made using LAMH)  The second pic is the Hivewire horse.

Wow, those are pretty great and dynamic renders.

    Ghastly: nice!

I have a cat anthro (sort of) in my webcomic, who alternates between two and four legs. I found it necessary to unlimit the head bending. It looks terrible from certain angles. Ugh.

  • How do the DH2 outfit/armor  fit to Harry?

    Do they work?

I tried that once. It didn't work for me.

I managed to get into the beta forums there. Don't know how long it will be before the forums go public, but they've now got a couple of WiP threads in the beta ones. I *hope* they manage to restore the original WiP thread for the horse because there was some great stuff there. They were extrapolating all kinds of quadupeds from that base. With examples of rough models from it which, even unfinished, looked as good as a lot of the older models that have been around for yonks.

They have their male, female, and baby human bases all released now. And while there will undoubtedly be additional morph packs and add-ons for them from the original modeler, there are still a few breeds for the horse that are still forthcoming. Plus a whole lot of other animals. There was a thread for an elephant in the WiP forums when the site went down and I gather that it's still in progress, although a lot of effort is being diverted to get the site fully back in service.

Harry is amazingly easy to pose, and his textures are drop dead gorgeous. I wish Laurie would do some more textures for the Daz horses...

I was very sad to see that the forums over there are down- there was some great step by step info on using Zbrush to make morphs that I was hoping make use of during x-mas vacation...

It looks like lots of the Zbrush info was lost but I'm hoping that we can resurrect some it as there was some really great info there.

Here's a shot of the Rocking Horse with Dawn riding it...

lol...as I work full time I pay my (adult kids) to do the cooking. My son does it as part of his board as he prefers to hold onto his money and it works for me, so we're both happy.

That's a great idea!  My son is out of the house but my daughter is still here.  Kind of lol.  She has 18 months in nursing school left and works as well, so she is basically working 60 hours a week.  But I use my crock pot a lot and my husband isnt super picky so it works out.  I'm fortunate that my job isn't far from where I live so I spend very little time commuting, which does free up a bit more time for me to play with things like Daz.

You're lucky...I'm half an hour away on a good day on a bad it can go up to an hour. My daughter is at Uni and my son works part time at the moment due to chronic fatigue.

    Long commutes are the worse!

Oh yeah! Too true...it's time I could spend playing with DS or ZBrush.

For anyone who is interested Hivewire Forums are now back up and can be reached by clicking on the forum tab from the store again...

@Ghastlycomic...there is a new quadraped being worked on over at the Hive. You might want to have a look...

Do we have to create a new account as I can't log on?

  • PendraiaPendraia Posts: 3,609

I think you most likely do have to create a new account. I seem to remember doing that when I joined the beta...

  • StezzaStezza Posts: 8,778

    Thx.. Yep had to

  • Thanks, Pen :)  Yes, you do need to create a new account, as noted :)
