Hi all,
there is a story behind each of my characters. But my new character—JP Keane HD, who is available since today—is something truly special.
The photos I used for the skin texture—following the earlier "Rodan M4" project—came from a photoshoot with my best friend, Antonio.
He may be known to some, as he was a valued member of our 3D community for many years—he ran sites such as PoserAddicts and MalePoserotica, among others. It was always incredibly exciting to talk with him, and over the years, he became one of the best friends a person could ever have.
He visited me in the summer of 2008, bringing his professional photography equipment along. We spent a few wonderful days together, and during that time, we captured the source material for the photo-based textures intended for our (then) primary male model, Michael 4. By "source material," I mean specific photos—shot with specialized lighting—covering every area of the male human body; it wasn't a "standard" photoshoot, and we were the ones acting as the models.
It was quite amusing at times, and we had a lot of fun.
I look back on that time with great fondness.
In July 2026—not so long ago—Antonio passed away after a long illness. I miss him and think of him often. It wasn't easy working with his photos again so soon after his death, but we were proud of the final result, "Rodan," back then, and now I am proud of JP Keane HD—created in honor of my best friend, Antonio Rodriguez.
JP Keane HD is built to the exact premium standards you love from my Darrow, Gennaro, Huxley or Judd, offering custom-sculpted HD morphs for his head, body, and Anatomical Elements. He comes with two distinct face options - one with and one without eyebrows, his advanced PBR skin shader works seamlessly under almost every lighting condition, while his full dForce hair suite delivers an incredibly natural-looking custom made beard, realistic stubble, and detailed body hair - someting you will only get with Jepe characters. JP Keane HD includes five unique iris textures, one original, and also one featuring a spectacular glowing emission option for his blue eyes that adds an immediate twist of mystery to his gaze. Ask me for the TV series I was inspired from! ![]()
I am proud to be taking part in the promotional campaign with JP Keane HD that is happening this month, and that many more people than usual will have the opportunity to let JP Keane HD in their 3D scenes!.

I remember when his passing was announced. Condolences. Something about JP Keane HD looked familiar today, now I know why. You've done a good job.
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this story. It's clear that JP Keane HD is much more than just another character release.
My condolences for your loss and congratulations on creating something that keeps his memory alive.
My hope was that perhaps a few more people might learn about this story, and that the memory of Antonio would indeed remain alive. Thank you so much for your kind words—I truly appreciate it!
My condolences for your loss,
but I wonder if it is ok to use your creation for the renders
and not hurt your feelings.
I understand your way of thinking, and I truly appreciate it! Honestly, though, beyond a certain point, things are simply out of my control—but that’s true for many aspects of life. Naturally, as an artist, it’s wonderful to see one’s work inspire others. As the saying goes, where there is light, there is also shadow; there will always be things I might not like, or instances where something is even misused—but I don’t worry about it too much. It’s all fine.
I remember his passing, and I do still sometimes use "Rodan M4" or some of you other M4 skins as there are some very good "1930s" clothing for M4 that we still dont have anything like.
And I always happens to pull an M4 now and then in the RRRR Contest. Keep up the great work mate!
I didn't realize dear Antonio has left us! I will always remember him fondly, and I am still using his marvelous method of bookkeeping for 3d models... I will have to look at that doll now, for sure.
Thank you for your kind words, Totte. And it’s really great to hear that Michael 4 is still being used. I’ll make a point of using him too—not necessarily as a lead character, but M4 certainly works wonderfully as an "extra"!
It is truly wonderful to know that Antonio is remembered fondly by so many; he was a part of our 3D community for a very long time and made a significant contribution. May he rest in peace.
