Conversion of G3F Expressions

Hello, Is there a way to transfer Expressions from Genesis 3 Figures to Genesis 8 Figures?

It isn't easy and I don't think it's worth it. But that's just an opinion and it may not be right for you in your circumstances.

G3 doesn't have the facial rigging needed to create expressions by posing bones, that came in with G8. As a result expressions are dialled in morphs (like all generations up to G3). To convert them to G8F you will need a character convertor (eg Riversoft's one) This strikes me as overkill and may not be sufficiently accurate to transfer over the nuances of the expressions. However, there's nothing to stop you trying it anyway, and it may be worth it to check if it is feasible.

A lot of G8 expressions are also morphs, continuing the tradition. However, not all are. You can pose the facial bones yourself, but it's not easy. I have tried it myself and stopped at a grand total of one:- Urk Expression

    Regards,

    Richard

Hello richardandtracy, you strike me as someone who has a pretty good understanding of the Genesis Figures and Daz Studio. I’ve checked again, these Expressions are also available for Genesis 2 and Victoria 4 Figures. It might be possible to find a better solution with these Figures than with Genesis 3 Figures.

The suggestion about the Converter sounds good at first, but I don’t think the result will actually be very good. I ran into this Issue with a Clothing Converter from that same Person, it did adjust the Clothing, but the execution was far too sloppy.

A converter follows a process. A process that might work fine on some circomstances and less good for others.

And I will support Richard, that I don't think it is worth the effort to try and convert earlier generations expressions.
