Shadow catchers with Iray. Whats compatible right now?

I don't really understand how to do shadow catchers when using backgrounds, as in having a characters shadows fall on the background pic. I found an old post on here from numerous months ago, but some of the links were broken and in other spots OP was having problems with suggested "free" shadow catcher shaders. I've seen 'PwCatch' on sale in the store, does this work with Iray? Someone also stated using the yosemite shadow catcher by unparenting it from the rest of the set. I happen to have one of the yosemites, I tried this even though the one persons explanation was very very vague,........I got no results whatsoever. How can this be done with Iray and is 'Pwcatch' worth buying? Any help appreciated as usual.

    No, pwCatch is 3Delight only.

ok, I got a break through finally. I got the shadow catcher from yosemite to work, however I cant seem to find any way to reduce the shadow intensity. I tried the 'Shadow Strength' in the surface properties of the plane, that does nothing.  Anyone?

iRay, I think, has its own built in shadow catching ability. I see it under render settings/environment/ground.

Thats right, you jarred my memory. I never messed with it, but I got it now. I've figured both out now, but the built in Iray one is the quickest. Thanks for reminding me on that.smiley
