Genitalia materials not listed anymore in the product description?

I noticed with the last 5-6 G3 Females that have appeared in the store lately that none of them had any genitalia materials listed in their "table of content" so I started to wonder if the PA's had stopped making them. Now I got "Vanda for Karen 7" from the "Deadly Shadows Bundle", another model that has no genetalia materials listed on the product description page, and when I start up DAZ and check the materials provided - there is genitalia mats!

So now I wonder, why hide this fact and how many of the other G3F's have secret genitalia mats provided? I can't help thinking it should be in everyone's best interest to provide an as accurate as possible list of content for every product. I'm sure genitalia mats are important to some*, just as the fact of knowing the model comes without them will be important to others.

* And yes, I'll admit they are to me and if that makes me a pervert, then so be it. Even if I don't render nudes I want to able to have to option to do so. And yes, that includes the males too.

Daz likes to be ambiguous with its product descriptions. It keeps us guessing; adds a little mystery wink.

I agree though. If Daz or a PA have gone to all the trouble of creating these materials for a character (and apparently its a lot of trouble to do so) then why on earth hide that fact? I agree that it also puts me off buying figures if I don't think the mats are there. There will be the usual responses about Daz being a family friendly site etc, but its not family-unfriendly to state that the materials exist. Just look at every Pro Bundle that lists the genitalia prop as part of the package. If they're happy to list it there, then why not everywhere else? Perhaps it just comes down to PAs being a little prudish over mentioning them, or simply just forgetting to?

By the way, it doesn't make you a perv if you want to render nudes. People use nude models in art classes all the time - its pretty much standard practice. Artists have always been fascinated by the naked human form as far back as anyone can remember. Some of the most revered and celebrated painters in history sometimes painted nudes.

At least for the guys, if it don't specifically state, I don't buy. If I wanted a Ken doll, I'd buy a Ken doll.

It is a bit tedious to do, but with any product you can look up exactly what files are inside it before buying by consulting the daz docs page and matching it with the sku on the product description. The relevant link to all the products docs is here:

Well, if they are too embarrassed to write the word 'genitalia', it surely would embarrass me to spend money to buy the cat in the bag.

And if they just forgot or didn't feel like it, well I guess they don't need the money anyway

Not sure if it's a new policy, and whilst I am very grateful if it is, I am chuckling ... in the latest two figure releases we now seem to have materials for 'Anatomical Elements' listed. How cutely coy :)

Looks like all the Pro bundles have been changed as well. Must be new store-wide policy. Our moaning paid off! laugh

Whilst "Anatomical Elements" is a little vague for newcomers I'm still very glad that they've found a solution to stating whether these things exist in a product or not. Thank you for listening Daz!

Me too. Now someone just needs to go through all the various character descriptions and add it where it's missing.smiley

I sort of expect a male figure to include textures for all body parts as they are rather visible if nude even modestly used like a tribal render, would be very odd if not.

I think they must have done a Search/Replace in their database. I see a lot of instances of "Anatomical Elements"

Oh, good. I've been staring at "Anatomical Element" in the product descriptions today and was so glad to see it's already been noticed.

Despite the hilarious wording, I am glad that Genesis 3 Females have more accurate Anatomical Elements than previous ones, addon or not. I always thought it was comical that V4 etc (and the new figure that shan't be named in the other place) are described as being completely anatomically correct when they don't even have proper Anatomical Elements. America's view of nudity = sex = evil is absolutely ridiculous and it's nice to see not everything is completely shut down by that. It's a bit of a shame that G3M took a bit of a backwards step regarding his Elements of Anatomicality, but at least some Anatomical Elementarianism is better than no Anatomical Elementation at all.

Lol - nice exessive use of the new terminology. wink

:headscratch: Since when did the anatomical term "genitals" become a dirty word?  :checks to see which planet I'm on just in case -- transporters and ion storms are a very bad combination. Especially after a couple of PanGalactic Gargle Blasters, not to mention all the Romulan Ale:

Okay so here's my question. If we remove all the anatomical parts of a character what's? frown

I guess 'Anatomical Elements' is at least partially consistent with Smart Content, since the gens are listed under Anatomy. Also listed under Anatomy are other geografts like tails and internal organs. In the DAZ world however it seems arms and legs are not anatomy.

Frankly, it'd be awesome if new skin packs had stuff for anatomy like 4 arms, wings, tails, etc.

    But alas. ;)

Well if DAZ want to be silly about this it's their decision.

If I get the information I need, I'm happy.

I guess that means, I'm happy right now. Gotta run, tell my face.
