ID badge on lanyard

While people seem to wear them - have to wear them - everywhere in the real world, I can't find an ID badge on a lanyard (dForce, presumably) anywhere for my G8Fs and Ms, and I suppose G9s to wear.

    Tnanks!

Wow: just goes to show how lousy the search is here. I searched on badge, id badge, id card, lanyard etc, got nothing.

Still, those are all pretty expensive when all I want is the id. And when yout think how many places it's actually also what you have to use to open doors. Could still do with a small set of 1anyard and clip on id badges (for boht female and male figures) and not have to buy some whole clothign set one has no interst in just to get one.

Oh, I used Google. "site:daz3d.com id card" (and id badge, and lanyard, etc. but id card found stuff.)

It shouldn't be hard to make a lanyard. Rigging the chain is beyond me. But I could probably make the plastic part.

Well, push came to shove I could use one of the long, thin, dForce chains I've got and stick a plane primitive on it ... I'm doing  a story that will end up as hundreds of renders with some accompanying dialogue and minimal narration, and just can't spend time on what are minor elements of just one or two scenes, but ought to be there to go with the realistic style, so look fot hings in the store. I was really posting here because it seemed an odd gap - something that should exist but doesn't, and for use by male characters too, not just because I need one now. Shouldn't have to buy some 'sexy journalist' or 'sexy PA' set to get an id badge for a male character!

Brain fog from medications for disability make me slow to think of the obvious. The female character works in a gym, and it wouldn't be unreasonable for her to wear a t-shirt with 'Staff' on it rather than have a dangling badge that might get caught in equipment. And if she's just taking it off and dropping it on the floor, I won't even need to texture it and decide yet which Mediaterranean country she's in and therefore which language to write 'Staff' in ...

Rigging is possyble starting from the neck and then 4-5 bones and a last bone for the card.

If you instead uses a band, you can dForce it and just attach the card with a rigid follower node.

Yes, there are ways. But i return to the point that it's a very common real world item, and there should be a set in the store! Given all the things there are versions of on the store it just seems an odd omission to me. And I'd buy a decent set. So it's my 'product suggestion'.

Who would buy just a lanyard? How much would one charge for just a lanyard?

If you look at some fo the ones in the clothign sets you pointed out, there are soem nicely modelled badges with hinges, clips and swivel attachements to theclip on the lanyards. Much better than a simple plane or flattened cuboid. So a variety of bages that go on a lanyard that is adjustabele for length, and set to be used on G8F and G8M and G9, plus clip-on badges that fasten to breast pocket or trouser belt, a metal-type name badge - and all with UV mapping made for eaase of customisation. I'd buy a set like that for a reasonable price. Actually I've finally found soemthing I knew I had but couldn't find - a set of Everyday Labels  by Maclean, a selection of wear-type id and name badges of various types and shapes, sew-on fabric badges, luggage labels, bumper stickers, fridge magnets and all sorts: bought from here, but so long ago they're in Poser format and were in my Poser runtime (but with - 3DL of course - .dsa DS material files). They only show up in the DAZ store search if you search on the product specific name, which I couldn't remember. Were $10.95, but as a very old item now $2.99. So, I'm talking about a modernised version and id focused plus modern lanyard version of something that is actually for sale here.

Maybe it'll be possible to use the one from this free doctor outfit in a different situation:

Not on a lanyard, but maybe you'll find a way to use these free ID badges (there will be a 18+ warning, but that message is safe for work: it's just a render of the various badges, without any figures and you can download the zip files without any account or subscription):

Whoa! How did I miss the Squarepeg3D ones? I HAVE an account and AM subscribed. I thought i'd been through the lot downloading anythng that miight ever be of interest/use. (I'm thinkg I donloaded my first freebie from him a long time afo  pre-Patreon.) Thanks for pointing that out. Given one of my meds wrecks my memory, I'm probably about to get very depressed finding I downloaded and installed those earlier this year but have absolutely no memory of them ... Yup.

Funny goint to the R'osity freebies - made me check. I see my freebie I put up in 2017 to convert G3F poses to G8F was still getting thnaks in 2024! 6000 downloads - and that doesn't count all the ones from Sh$%CG!

Thanks for the help. Doing a storyt hat will be a lot of renders, and the next sequence the female character is in the gym where she works. Suddenly struck me she shoudl be wearing something to show she's staff, and my mind went to ID badges on lanyards, though now other options have occured.

But that's enough options for that. Back to the really big problem of none of the sports bras here will fit her at all properly. Bunch of morphs used to create her character, but the problematic one is Freja8, which i'm using as the base. NONE of the sports bras include a Freja8 morph, despite custom morphs for a bunch of other DAZ cgaracters who look like they've never been in a gym. Autofollow screws up badly in the region where the breast-band is. None of the products supposed to help fit clothes include Freja8 or the adjustments needed to fix what auto-follow screws up in the Freja8 morph it creates. And while I used to be very handy with DFormers, while I've been away DFormers have been completely wrecked to the point of being unuseable. Feel like I'm banging my head on a wall.
