DIM Installs for version 4 & 6

I have both DAZ 4 and DAZ 6 installed (so I can still access my plug-ins in DAZ 4).
Since both versions are pointed to the came content folder, I assume there is no problem with both sharing the same content.
For DAZ 4, the plug-ins and scripts were loaded within the DAZ Studio’s application folder. I assume the same will be true for DAZ 6 when it has compatible plug-ins, etc.
My question is this:
Will DIM know the difference and install the appropriate plug-in in the correct version’s plug-in folder?
How will DIM handle both DAZ versions?

In DIM settings there is a tab where there's a list of programs and install path for them. DS4, DS4 beta, DS6, DS6 beta, are all considered different programs.
Each DIM package includes a "manifest" text file which lists what is included and what DIM is supposed to do with each of the files.
For plugins, that file will include lines which basically mean "these specific files are plugins files and compatible with these programs " and then DIM interprets it as "these specific files get installed to the plugin folder in the install path configured for each of the compatible programs". So if the manifest is setup properly, DIM will know which files go where.
Plugins don't install into the content library. They go into version specific directories in the appdata folders. So if there's a DS4 plugin in the zip file, it goes into any DS4 plugin directories you have (you could have more than one) as noted above this post.) and likewise, if there's DS6 plugin in the zip, the same happens in the DS6 plugin directories.
For example:
