As I have been looking at products and using them (gasp!) I have been noting how often they reappear on the Outlet or Quick Grab stores. (I look at the Price History chart.) So I wishlist and bide my time. If they offer a new item for sale and the wishlisted item is available there, like today, I may get it for an even lower price before tokens. It depends on my level of patience versus my level of 'I really, really, want this'.

But I am frustrated that some of the items I also found in the group of items that were in the stucked mix over the past few weeks have disappeared. But there will be another sale. We have October to January coming up and if nothing shows up, March Madness.

Yeah, the frequent fliers are why almost nothing shows up for me in  QG anymore that I would want that I don't already have, and even OS is very sparse compared to what it used to be. S'okay, though. It's the natural consequence of having a very specific range of things I'm interested in and a finite quantity of products in the store. I can take joy in others getting some awesome deals and go play with the toys I have.

I got some very sweet deals in the beginning, when os and qg had bundles. Also, some of the items I was watching have not returned or returned at less favorable prices. It's an idle musing .It's not like I'm in danger of running out of content or something.

the Outlet prices that are high will discount in cart. For instance Xi transport show $13 andits $0.99 in cart. Unfortunately onle 1 item is in my need category from QG, and that's AM Rabbit. I was hoping that would show up as I bought add-on kits 3 and 4 when the QG renewed 3 weeks ago. So now, will is update on Monday or will we wait? Yeah, I'm always questioning and wondering laugh

Funny to first put the rabbit addons up, and then the rabbit itself later.  I've seen this with several other products, it would make more sense to put up the main product first.

They've been doing that for years (those I've been here) in other offers like biweekly freebies or Build Your Own Bundle in the June Daz+ sale. Pretty much anything that would change over at some point. I considered it would be the case with the rabbits, but since that practice annoys me so much, I decided not to get the addons (by the way, addon #2 was in QG some weeks before 3 and 4). There's always another sale.

Personally, I did not notice QG repeat much so far (but I also usually own between 10 and 20 of what's offered there, and I don't check those closely). OS gets some repeats, but it seems more of a "stayin in OS for longer than a month" than actual "come back after a few months." But given the size of the thing, I haven't been keeping close eye on every single product there.

...pretty much taking that approach this month to take a breather.  Library drive getting close to full which necessitates finally breaking out the spare 4TB I had just for such an occasion,

I've got nine extra hard dirves in the current set up for my primary rendering computer, mostly extrenals, but the biggst individual one at the moment is a 14TB, with the majority being 6 or 8TBs.  Partially because 1.) putting everything on one massive harddirve seems like putting all your eggs in one nest to me,  and the current "reasonably priced" 20TBs weren't well tested back the last time I bought hard drives, and 2) the last time I shopped for hard drives was before the prices literally doubled and I bought a couple of extras at insane prices on Amazon Prime Day for (prepare to cry now surprise ) 6TB externals for $109, 8tb externals for $129, and 12TB externals for $175, plus 2 14TB internals at New Egg for $189 each.  All brand new, all major brands, no refurbished or repacks.  I look at the price of drives now and can only wonder what the prices are going to be like by the time I use the last of those back ups... sigh...

Well, it seems that the fix to the QG might have been a one-off thing, because it didn't refresh at UTC midnight as it has been in the past few months. I guess there's hope for a Daz midnight (and then Daz midday refresh).

i was wondering if it would change at all this week. Its only been active a couple days.

I would be surprised if it changes on what has been the schedule, since they only just got it working again.

Since the beginning, Quick Grab always changed on Monday midnight (the only exception was when they changed Daz midnight to UTC midnight, making it Sunday evening for the US). If they got it working again as you say, wouldn't that imply it, well, working again and changing on time? ;)

    no change

  • edited August 10

Frank posted in Reporting thread that it was being fixed. I just checked and there's a new selection. Prices are correct in the cart, including dropdown, but not on the page.

How many posts will there be about how the selection should have been left up for a full week?

None from me angel it will be better if Daz staff can get it fixed and running smoothly again.

  • It looks like OS selection was changed (or partly changed) when Daz fixed QG a little while ago.

    ***

@Joanna I've seen former QG items later show up in OS, as well as items in both selections at the same time.

I think the os page is bugged. My WL shows no change in price of stuff I selected for purchase some time this month.

  • TorquinoxTorquinox Posts: 4,842

If those items drop out of my WL sort, this will be a very cheap month for me at the Daz store.

  • davesodaveso Posts: 8,239

well, your mileage may vary, but unfortunately, nothing in the new QG for me. I could maybe grab Ivar 9 if needed to load the cart for a token or something. I'm surprised in turned over at all though.

Same. Once it was fixed, I assumed the mid-week selection would go away on schedule.

Today is Sunday, and supposedly Quick Grab is back to normal (of course, we will see in due time ;) ), so just in case, if you have any QG items in your cart or on your wishlist, check out with them before UTC Midnight (which is, if I recall correctly, 8pm US Eastern time).

Bumping this thread as it's been the hub for all OS/QG discussion, and the other QG thread was only about the issues QG was experiencing.

  • As @joanna mention in the Outlet thread, tonight (6pm edt/7 cdt) we will find out if the QG changeover fix is still working

There was a reason I bumped only the thread in which we discuss both OS and QG, instead of one that was created specifically for issues, which I actually stated in the other thread. It really makes it easier for folks to find info in one consodilated thread than bumping all the possible threads on the topic.

Lol, yeah. I always try to stay on the safe side before complaining and give it some 30 mins. But usually, it refreshes around 00:15-00:20... well, when it refreshes correctly.

Well I'm happy with this new selection: FN Mia and Stonemason Rift are good buys for me.

Thanks for the reminder! My youngest kid's sleep schedule went in the blender again and I didn't even properly realize it was Sunday lol.

  • I lucked out on the new set even though there was just one thing I wanted. I already had a couple PA items in my cart for the WL deal - and the QG dropped their prices. Not by much, but the $2 QG (base price)  added just 79¢ to my total!
