Please help, need older Daz version installer to still use the Reality plugin

Hello,

Please help; I need an older Daz.exe(4.8/4.9/4.10/ or 4.12) version installer to still use the Reality Render plugin (I own the plugin and have a serialnumber for it, Reality is already installed on my OS11 PC

Searched everything but found nothing (yet) .

Many thanks in advance

kr

Peter

You have more chance of getting a sample of unicorn poop I'm afraid.

No one can share an older version of DS with you as we are not allowed to distribute it. Even Daz is likely not allowed to distribute these versions nowadays as they include 3DL and they don't have a license to distribute that anymore.

Regarding Reality plugin, I thought their authentication server didn't exist anymore? So even if you managed to find a backup of an older version of DS it probably wouldn't work anyway.

  • While it definitely won't run in DS6, there shouldn't be an issue running it in 4.24.0.4.

    What's the problem you're having?

I think Leana is right, it is no longer possible to activate the plug-in as the servers have been shut down. This is nothing to do with your Daz Studio version.

  • The activation server may be a problem, i don't know if Omniflux is still running it or not, since his last post in the EOL thread(Here) was in 2023.

There's a github version Omniflux released that doesn't need the activaiton server here, but that stuff is a bit outside my wheel house.

I'm curious - if the above-mentioned (tnx) non-activation version were built/acquired, is there any reason it won't run in DS 4.24.x.x ?

I'm also curious if anyone knows of an archive of the materials library (ACSEL?) that the Reality author (paolo? or similar) was running when that product was in its heyday?

    cheers,

I can't speak to this version, but i can say Reality does work in 4.24.03.

the version i'm on is 4.3.1.16203. it's locked to Luxrender v 1.6, and can't use luxcore direclty.

.If you export to LXS it can be loaded into luxcore.

I had some issues with it taking 2+ mintues to start rendering on gpu, but that was spuratic.

Playing with this reminded me why i dropped it realy quick, converting stuff takes forever.

As for the ASCEL, can't help, might shoot Omniflux a PM and see if he knows anything.

I haven't seen paolo around here in forever.

    Download, what you can download.
    Second rule of the Internet:
    run apps locally
    Third rule of the internet:
    Repeat first and second rule

negative first rule. A backup is just useless media unless you also perform a restore with the backup to make sure it works.
