Exporting G9 as a combined CR2?

DeeceyDeecey Posts: 194

Older characters have all parts and materials in one single object. So converting to CR2 is fairly simple.

However, G9 chracters are different. There is the base skin, and then several sub-parts.(Lashes, Tear, Eyes, Mouth, and Brows).. If you select the parent, the child items are not included and you only get the skin.

Is there a way to export all parts combined as CR2 and OBJ?  I did find some older instructions but they seem outdated, as the options to check are not the same in the versions I have.

DS 4.24 or DS 6 are installed on my PC.

For Obj if you select all the items and export with 'selected roots' you will get one obj file including it all.

    I know nothing of CR2.

You'd need to merge them into a single figure. Why are you needing them as one CR2, rather than keeping them as conforming items - is it the lack of GeoGrafting.

No I've been doing texture transformer packs, and the way G9 is separated out into individual parts that means running 6 different transforms per character (one for each of the invidual parts in the CR2). I can merge the OBJ file OK but it's recreating a unified CR2 that I can't figure out how to do.

Texture transformer also does Poser and DAZ MAT files but those don't seem to be working well. At least with a CR2 I can create my own MAT files and use Poser File Editor to properly set up the materials I want to convert.

If you mean Texture Transformer v3.0, you may try using DUF directly, it support DUF format Material Preset but not sure it also supports Hieararchical Material Preset.  Save a G9's H.Material Preset before trying...

I used to have older version TT many years ago...but it couldn't 100% accurately convert tex. maps for me... from V4 to G3 ~
