Smoothing: On Off "Multiple"

In Daz Studio 6 using MacOS there is an amazing race condition using "smoothing".
Genesis 8 Basic Male + Genesis 8 Male Genetilia then with Genesis 8 Baic Male selected, "Edit > Figure > Geometry > Add Smoothiing Geometry
Then, Change "Smoothing Iterations" to anyting over 6 and KABOOM! Infinite loop and the smoothing progress meter on the bottom goes crazy.
Now, start over and get to the part about Smoothing Iterations, and choose the Genetilia and Object > Add Smoothing Geometry. When you go back to the Basic Male, you get a third value for Smoothing, On Off and Multiple.
What does Multiple mean? If you select the radio button it goes away, leaving only On and Off. Any ideas why this bug is happening?

Normally, when you see "multiple" it means more than one scene object is selected, "Consolidate properties" is enabled, and one of the objects has the option enabled, while the other has it disabled.
There wil also be a number preceeding the property's name.
When you click the switch(it's not a radio button), it makes all the selected objects values the same.
In regards to the smoothing modifer issue, this isn't a DS6 issue, it's present in every version of studio i've ever worked with.
What you're doing is creating an unresolvable math problem.
In general, you don't apply a smoothing modifier to a base figure like genesis, you apply it to things that interact with the base figure like clothing or the gens.
What is the purpose of applying the smoothing modifier, if you don't mind?
